Precautions for Use
Avoiding condensation problems
As much as possible,avoid sudden temperature changes.Do not
attempt to use the drive immediatelyafter moving it from a cold to a
warm location, to raisingthe room temperaturesuddenly, as
condensation may form within the drive.If the temperaturechanges
suddenly while usingthe drive,
Stop using it andtake out batteries forat least an hour.
Storage
When long timeno use,must take out the batteries to avoid
destroying the device.
Use batteries
At the same time,can not use differentstyle or different capacitance
batteries.
And only chargethe rechargeable batteries.

On/Off and Permanent On
Press the Power key toturn on the device with auto power
off. After 10minutes no key pressed,it will autopower off.
Press Power key for 2seconds when turn on the device, the
auto power offwill be cancelled,and the LCD willshow
.
Also press itfor more than 2 seconds toshut the device.

According to different configuration,OPM or VFLas
optional part can bebuilt in the PON meter WithoutOPM or
VFL, it willshow "NO".
After booting, the metershows function selectionmenu.
Press Up buttonor Down button to switch functions.Then
press button to entercorresponding interface. If
you want toselect functions again, only need topress
button for twoseconds or more, and you can
return to function selectionmenu.

PON optical powermeter
After entering PONpower meter function, it will show
a testing interface onthe screen. PON power meter can
measure uplink signal1310nm, downlink data signal
1490nm and downlinkvideo signal 1550nmin the PON
network at thesame time.
HI and LOW mean theresult is out of the testing range.

Setting reference isusually used before measuring the
real . It canwipe off theattenuation value which is
not counted inthe actual loss. Or it can be used incomparing
with the pre-settingstandard power.
Button is usedto setting or checking out the
reference value. Short pressit, the screen will show "REF"
and a pre-settingdBm value. Long press it for two seconds
or more, thedevice will save the current measured value as
a new referencevalue. At the same time, "REF" sign will flash
three times onthe display screen. After that, it will show
network
the
dB value, andthree wavelengths will be set simultaneously.

The threshold isset to quickly detect whether the result
is in rangeor not, and to confirm whether the network can
be used ornot. The offset value is set to calibrate theregular
attenuation or deviation

After entering threshold settingmenu, the cursor will default stay
on the thresholdnumber. Firstly, youshould choose the threshold
number which youneed to set ormodify through pressing
button. The device can set 10 groups of thres hold information.
Whenstart quick judgment mode,it will show thecurrent referring
threshold number onthe top of the display screen, in the form of"Tx".
When finish choosingthreshold number,you can set corresponding
parameters through Upbutton, Down button and button.
Each channel hasthree parameters. Forexample, 1310nm includes
parameters as followed:
When the cursormove to the corresponding parameter,press
button, it canshift to each data. Press Up button or Down
button to modify. Then press button until thewhole data
change to cursor, which means modifying successfully.After finishing
setting, press button to backto the testing interface.

User can do easycalibration as the followingsteps:
Press the " " key to thecalibration menu as thepicture.
1.Press the " " key to movethe cursor.
2.Press the key to increase thevalue
3.Press the key to decrease thevalue
4.Press again the key to save andexit.
Please note the adjustablerange of each wavelengthisfrom -5.0 to
+5.0, if the differenceis out of therange, we suggest usersend back
to manufacturer to docompletely calibration.

The measured data storageis used to record the important
measured data, which can be used to analysis after measuring.
Under measurement interface, press button can
display the saved historicaldata. Press Up or Down button
can browse records andshow the data number on the top of
the screen. Pressthis button for two seconds under current
interface, the number willbe showed onthe upper left of the
screen and store the current measured data(bydBm value).
The device can store 100 records at most. The data number
will plus 1 automatically. Ifstores fully,the device will
overwrite the first recordautomatically. Successivelystore
data as above-mentioned.
Press button again, back to measurement
interface.

Optical power meter mode is a superior optical power
meter with storage function. The dBm value and uWvalue
show simultaneously,operations as followed:
Press to witchthe measured wavelengths, calibration
wavelengths are: 850/1300/1310/1490/1550/1625nm
Short press can checkthe saved references of six
calibration wavelengths above-mentioned. Long press
this button can save current value asa reference.
Device can store 100 records. Short presscan check 10
records and press Up or Down button can turn pages.
Long press can save current data todevice. The data
number will plus 1automatically. Ifstores fully,the
device will overwrite thefirst record automatically.

Visual Fault Locator(VFL) is usedto seek thefailure point
in bare fiberand cables, including rupture, lager loss,
connector seeking andso on. Press button, the
laserwill flash or keepon bright. You can useVFL both inPON
power meter modeand optical power meter mode. Press
button can controllaser open, close and flash,
which will beshowed on the screen by "*" symbol.

Batteries detecting and charging
Four levels indicationof power detection
Represents the remaining80%---100% electricity
Represents the remaining40%---80% electricity
Represents the remaining20%---40% electricity
Represents the remainingelectricity less than 20%
After connecting the USB charger, a charging icon showson the
screen. If there arerechargeable batteries in the device, it starts
chargingthe rechargeable batteries. Forbidusing non-rechargeable
batteries to charge, orit might lead to leakage, even burning.
When the remaining electricity isless than 20%, you should promptly
shut down the device andrecharge it. Long time undervoltage will
shorten the lifetime of therechargeable batteries. When the charging is
finished, the battery remaining indicator willstop flashing. The batteries
has finished the fast rechargeand can be used directly. If you do not stop
recharging at this time,the device will continue the trickle charge state,
using small current to supplynatural discharge. But this processis not
more than 24 hours.The device can still be used while charging.
