Installation
1 Insert RECHARGEABLE batteries into the battery compartment.

1. Connect the power adapter (N) to the cradle (L) and to the mains power supply.
2. Place the mouse in the cradle (M). The LED (B) will be lit.
3. The LED will start to flash once the batteries have been fully charged.
Recommended: charge the batteries for 12 hours before using the mouse for the first time.
3 Turn on the PC.
Connect the Bluetooth adapter.
4 Windows XP Service Pack 2: wait until Windows states that the device has been installed.
Windows XP Service Pack 1 and Windows 2000: click “Cancel”.
Continue from step 5 to install the Bluetooth driver.
5 Insert the Trust installation CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
6 Click “Install driver”. Æ9
If no other mouse is connected: close the window by pressing ALT + F4 Æ7.

If no other mouse is connected, use the keyboard:
Open the Windows Start menu by pressing the Windows key or CTRL + ESC.
- Use the arrow keys to navigate to “Run”.
- Press ENTER.
- Use ALT + TAB to navigate between windows.
8 Type: ”D:\driver\setup.exe”. (‘D’ is an example. A different letter may be used to indicate your CD-ROM
drive.)
9 Click “Next”.
10 1. Accept the license agreement.
2. Click “Next” twice.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
11 Click “OK”.
12 Click “Finish”.

13 In order for the Bluetooth connection button to work correctly in Windows XP SP2, remove the Bluetooth
adapter from the PC.
14 Windows XP SP2: re-connect the Bluetooth adapter Æ16
15 If requested to do so, restart your computer.
Making a Bluetooth wireless connection
16 Press the connection button (F) for 5 seconds. The LED (I) will be lit. The device is now ready to be
detected for a Bluetooth connection.
17 Press the connection button (K) for 5 seconds.
18 The Bluetooth mouse will be detected.
19 Use the Trust MI-5500X Bluetooth mouse to click “Click here”.
20 The Bluetooth icon in the taskbar will turn green (connection). The mouse is now ready to use.
Altering the mouse options
21 Alter the mouse properties: for example, the speed of the mouse arrow.
Open the Windows Control Panel.
22 Double-click the “Mouse” icon.
23 1. Select the “Pointer Options” tab.
2. Adjust the speed of the mouse arrow.
Installing the mouse software
(Only necessary if you wish to alter the function of the mouse buttons)
24 1. Click “Install software”. Follow the on-screen instructions.
2. Browse the contents of the CD-ROM and find the instruction manual for the software.
Wireless performance
• Reduced wireless performance can be caused by:
- Metal objects close to or between the adapter and the other device.
- Empty batteries.
- Other wireless devices close by.
- The reception is limited when the signal must pass through concrete walls and
floors.

Wireless Bluetooth technology
• The Bluetooth mouse can also be used with other Bluetooth devices, such as notebooks, which have
integrated Bluetooth technology. See the instruction manual for instructions on how to connect these
devices.
• The Bluetooth device must support the Bluetooth HID profile.
• If another Bluetooth device cannot be used in combination with the mouse, disable the functionality of
the Bluetooth device and use the Bluetooth USB adapter and the accompanying software.
• The Bluetooth software is only for use with the Bluetooth USB adapter.
General use
• If you press the connection button (F) on the mouse, the wireless connection will have to be created
again.
• The Bluetooth USB adapter and the software have been developed for Windows 2000 and Windows XP
(older operating systems are not supported).
• Install the Trust Easy Configuration software included on the CD-ROM to configure the 3rd, 4th and 5th
mouse buttons.
• The windows displayed during installation in Windows 2000 may differ from the screen shots shown
here.
• Press the left mouse button if the mouse does not react.

Safety instructions
• Never open or repair this device yourself.
• Do not use the device in a damp environment. Clean the device with a damp cloth.
• Never throw the batteries onto an open fire, because this may cause them to explode.
• Never drill holes into the batteries.
• Keep the batteries out of the reach of small children.
• Only use rechargeable NiMH batteries with this device.
• When the batteries are empty, ask your local authority where you can dispose of them.
Comment: Do not use old and new batteries at the same time, because the old batteries may deplete the
new ones.

Wireless
• This wireless device works at a frequency of 2.4GHz. It meets the essential requirements and other
relevant conditions of R&TTE Directive 1999/5/EC and can be used in all EU countries plus:
RU/NO/TR/HU. There are no limitations per channel for the above-mentioned countries. Go to
www.trust.com/14182 for an updated list of the countries where the use of this device is permitted.
• There may be restrictions for the use of this device outside of the EU. If this device is used outside of the
EU, check whether this device meets local regulations. Frequency: 2.4 GHz; Bandwidth: approx. 1 MHz;
Power: 1 mW.
• Nowadays, there are an increasing number of wireless products (video, audio, computer, etc.) which
work in the same frequency range as this device. It may, therefore, be possible that the functionality of
this device is limited by or is limiting for other wireless products. This can only be avoided by paying
attention to the distance between products and, where possible, by changing channels.
