Introduction
The BC80XLT is a newstate-of-the-art radio with scanning capabilities.
Storefrequenciesinto 5 banks of 10channels each.
What isScanning?
Unlike standard AMor FMradio stations, most two-way communications
(listedon this page) do not transmit continuously. TheBC80XLT scans
programmed channels until it finds an activefrequency. Scanning stops on
an activefrequency, and remains on that channel as long as the
transmission continues. When thetransmission ends, the scanning cycle
resumes until another transmission is received. While the BC8OXLT scans
channels, it is in Scan mode. When you stop scanning with “MANUAL” itisin
Manual mode.
What isSearching?
The BC80XLT can search 11 bands to find active frequencies. This gives
you the opportunity tofind newfrequencies that have not been programmed.
While the BC80XLT searches for activefrequencies, it is in Search mode.
