If you own a drill, you can make this a little easier
by drilling pilot holes at each pencil mark using a
1/8” (or 3mm) diameter bit.
Note: DRILL NO DEEPER THAN 1/2”. To ensure
this, we recommend wrapping a piece of tape
around your drill bit 1/2” from the tip. Stop drilling
just before the tape touches the desktop.
Then attach the Mounting plate to the desktop with the two
Wood screws.
Finish by connecting the Advanced Paddle Keypad to the
Mounting plate using the two Machine screws.
Step 1 - Attach the Keypad to Desktop
If your desktop has pre-drilled holes on the underside, line up
the Mounting plate with the holes in the orientation shown to
the left. Attach it to the Desktop with the two Wood screws.
If your desktop does not have pre-drilled holes, the Keypad
can be placed anywhere along the front edge of the Desk-
top. Ideal placement leads to less interference with your legs,
chair, or accessories. Once the mounting location is chosen,
hold the Mounting plate 3/8” back from the front edge of the
Desktop, and make a pencil mark at each of the two front
hole locations.
Step 2 - Install the Cable
Remove the adhesive backing from the Cable mount and stick
it 6” to 8” directly behind the paddle. Press and hold the adhe-
sive to the Desktop for about 30 seconds. Then wrap the Cable
mount strap around the cable and pull it closed but not tight
around the cable, leaving slack in the cable between the Cable
mount and the cable.
Plug the end of the paddle’s cable into your UPLIFT Desk con-
trol box, into the port marked “HS.” Use the remaining Cable
mounts as you wish to organize your cable.
