COUNTRY CODE AND EURO EXCHANGE RATE

1. INSTALLATION
1.1 Check and make sure that the following
accessories are included:
This operation manual
Scale x 1
Platter x 1
Power adaptor x 1
Dust cover x 1
Contact your dealer if any item missed.
1.2 Inserttheplatterintothe scalecarefully.
No excessive force is required.
1.3 POWER ON THE SCALE
a. Before plugging the power adaptor into
electricity outlet, check and make sure
that the input voltage of power adaptor
matches with the output voltage of the
outlet. If not, do not plug in the adaptor,
contact your dealer immediately.
b. Before first time use, plug the main
adaptor into the wall outlet and charge
the scale for at least 8 hours.
c. Retain the packing materials for future
transportation purposes.
Caution:
This unit is legal for trade only when it is
sealed (and/or stamped) and bearing a serial
number. Do not attempt to break the seal (or
stamp) affixed to this scale or remove the
serial number. Contact your dealer for more
information and after sales service.
For most accurate weighing result, do not use
this scale in where or when the environment
condition falls beyond as those listed on
SPECIFICATIONS.
Do not attempt to open this unit or conduct
any trouble shootings other than those listed
on TROUBLE SHOOTING.

1. NUMERIC AND DECIMAL KEYS
Press these keys to attain the desired numeric
value.
2. CLEAR KEY
Press this key to clear the numeric figure just
entered or quit from function in process.
3. TARE KEY
Press this key to tare off the weight of a
container. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS for maximum
tare range.
4. ZERO KEY
Press this key to set weight to zero. Refer
to SPECIFICATIONS for maximum zero range.
5. FIXED UNIT PRICE KEY
Press this key to enter a fixed unit price.

6. NATIONAL CURRENCY/EURO CONVERSION KEY
Press this key to show the total price payable
(in national currency) in equivalent Euro
value.
Refer to APPENDIX A COUNTRY CODE AND EURO
EXCHANGE RATE for country code, scale code and
built-in exchange rate between 11 national
currencies and EURO.
7. PLU SET KEY
Press this key to set a unit price to PLU.
8. NATIONAL CURRENCY UNIT PRICE KEY
Press this key to change unit price mode from
EURO and to national currency.
9. EURO UNIT PRICE KEY
Press this key to change unit price mode from
national currency to EURO.
10. PLU RECALL KEY
Press this key followed by 2-digit PLU location
number to recall the unit price stored in the
corresponding PLU location.
11. DIRECT PLU KEYS
Press these keys to recall the unit price stored
in this PLU location.
12. WEIGHT PANEL
The weight detected is shown here.
13. UNIT PRICE PANEL
The current unit price entered is shown here.
14. TOTAL PRICE PANEL
Price to pay of the current transaction is shown
here.
15. ZERO INDICATOR
An arrow will appear and point at this sign
to indicate a zero weight status.

16. TARE INDICATOR
An arrow will appear and point at this sign
to indicate the tare function is in operation.
The weight being displayed on the Weight Window
is the net weight.
17. LO-BAT INDICATOR
This indicator will appear when the battery
inside scale faded out. Recharge the scale
immediately. Failure to do so may cause
unrecoverable damages to the built-in
rechargeable battery.
18. FIXED UNIT PRICE INDICATOR
An arrow will appear and point at this sign
to indicate the fixed unit price function is
in operation.
19. EURO UNIT PRICE INDICATOR
An arrow will appear and point at this sign
to indicate the value being shown on the Total
Price Window is in term of Euro.
This indicator would not be displayed when Euro
is chosen as default currency. Contact your
dealer for more information.
20. NATIONAL CURRENCY UNIT PRICE INDICATOR
An arrow will appear and point at this sign
to indicate the value being shown on the Total
Price Window is in term of national currency.
This indicator will not be displayed if country
setting is Euro. Contact your dealer for more
information.
21. CHARGING INDICATOR
This dual color indicator shows the recharging
status of the built-in rechargeable battery.
Red color: Recharging battery
Green color: Charging completed
POWER KEY
The power key is located at the left-hand bottom
edge of the scale. Press this key
forward/backward to turn scale on/off.

4. INITIAL SETUP
4.1 PLACING THE SCALE
In order to obtain an accurate weighing result,
the scale must be placed on a strong and level
surface.
If required, adjust the adjustable feet
underneath scale to obtain a level position.
Refer to the bubble indicator for leveling
condition.
4.2 INTERNAL SETTING
4.2.1 Check Country Setting, Exchange Rate,
Power On Unit Price Base
This unit contains built-in exchange rates
between your national currency and EURO.
Before first time use, follow the below steps
to check and make sure that the country setting
and the EURO exchange rate against your local
currency and power on unit price base (EURO
or national currency) are both correct.
a. Turn scale off
b. Press and hold TARE, then turn scale on.
c. Scale displays F.1.
d. Press TARE until scale displays F.3.
e. Press NC/EURO.
f. Scale shows the current country setting and
Euroexchange rateon theunit priceand Total
Price Window.
g. Refer to APPENDIX A for country code, scale
code and exchange rate. Make sure that both
settings are correct.
h. Press @NC to set power on unit = national
currency, or press @EURO to set power on unit
= EURO.
i. Press ZERO to return to operation status.
CAUTION:
Should country code or Euro exchange rate
setting is not correct, do not use this scale.
Contact your dealer immediately.
4.2.2 Select Auto Power Off Setting
The scale is equipped with AUTO POWER OFF
FUNCTION.

Under this function, the scale will be turned
off automatically if it is not used for 4 minutes.
Follow the below steps to enable/disable the
AUTO POWER OFF FUNCTION.
a. Turn scale off.
b. Press and hold TARE, then turn scale on.
c. Scale displays F.1.
d. Press TARE until scale displays F.4.
e. Press NC/EURO to shift between 0._OFF and
4._OFF.
** To enable the AUTO POWER OFF FUNCTION, press
ZERO when 4._OFF appears.
** To disable the AUTO POWER OFF FUNCTION,
press NC/EURO when 0._OFF appears.
f. After ZERO is pressed, the scale returns
to operation status.
4.3 BACKLIGHT (OPTION) SETTINGS
Follow the below steps to disable or change
backlight (option) setting.
NOTE: Only change the backlight settings
before entering a unit price.
4.3.1 Disable Backlight
Press 0and then press ZERO to disable
backlight.
4.3.2 Turn Backlight On: - Power Saving Mode
Press 1and then press ZERO to enable power
saving backlight
Under this mode, backlight will be turned off
after it has been left idle for 20 seconds.
Backlight will be automatically turned on again
when a new weight is detected or when a key
is pressed.
4.3.3 Turn Backlight On: - Continuous Mode
Press 2and then press ZERO to turn backlight
on.
Under this mode, the backlight will remain
powered on until the backlight is manually
turned off (by 4.3.1 method) or a new backlight
command (4.3.2) is entered.

4.4 UNIT PRICE LOOKUP (PLU)
This unit is equipped with 99 PLUs (unit price
lookups). PLU location number 01 to 09 can be
accessed by one of the DIRECT PLU KEYS.
To access PLU locations 10 to 99, press the
appropriate the 2-digit PLU location number
through the numeric keys.
Follow the below procedures to store/recall
a unit price to/from a PLU location.
4.4.1 To Store a Unit Price to PLU
a. Select unit price base in Euro or national
currency. The corresponding unit price base
indicator will appear.
b. Key in unit price value. The unit price
entered will be displayed on the UNIT PRICE
PANEL.
NOTE: Refer to 5.3.2 and 5.3.3 for unit price
entering.
c. Press PLU SET. The TOTAL PRICE PANEL
displays PLU?
d. Enter 2-digit PLU location number or press
CL twice to quit.
e. Once the 2-digit PLU location number is
entered, the scale will store the unit price
into memory in two seconds. Within this 1
second, press CL twice to quit or PLU SET
to enter a new PLU location.
4.4.2 To Recall the Unit Price from PLU
Unit prices stored in location 01 to 09 can
be recalled by pressing the DIRECT PLU KEYS.
Follow the below procedures to recall a unit
price stored in location 10 to 99.
a. Press PLU RECALL. The TOTAL PRICE PANEL
displays PLU?
b. Enter 2-digit PLU location number or press
CL twice to quit.
c. The PLU location number entered would be
displayed for about 1 second on the TOTAL
PRICE PANEL.

d. The unit price stored is displayed on the
UNIT PRICE PANEL.
NOTE: If the unit price base (e.g. national
currency) of the PLU location is contradictory
to the default setting (e.g. EURO only) of scale,
a zero unit price will be displayed. Contact
your dealer for more information.
4.4.3 To Clear Unit Price from PLU
A unit price stored in a PLU location can be
erased by entering a zero or new unit price.
5. INSTRUCTION FOR USE
5.1 BEFORE WEIGHING
Make sure that:
a. The platter is inserted firmly into the
scale.
b. The scale is placed on a level and strong
surface.
c. The scale is turned on.
5.2 SET DISPLAYED VALUE TO ZERO WHEN UNLOADED
If zero weight cannot be obtained when unloaded,
press ZERO. After ZERO is pressed, the ZERO
INDICATOR would appear.
Refer to SPECIFICATIONS for maximum zero range.
5.3 TRANSACTION WEIGHING
5.3.1 Place the Article
Place an article on the platter. The weight
of the article is shown on the Weight Window.
5.3.2 Select the Correct Unit Price Base

Make sure that the right unit price base
(national currency or EURO) is being employed.
If not, press @EURO or @NC to correct.
a. Press @EURO to employ Euro unit price base,
or,
b. Press @NC to employ national currency unit
price base.
c. After @EURO or @NC is pressed, the
corresponding UNIT PRICE INDICATOR would
appear on the UNIT PRICE and TOTAL PRICE
PANEL.
NOTE: The power on unit price base is the default
base of the scale. Refer to 4.2.1 for power
on unit price base setting.
5.3.3 Enter the Unit Price
The unit price can be entered by one of the
following methods.
a. By making use of the numeric keys and decimal
keys, or,
b. By pressing the appropriate DIRECT PLU
RECALL KEY, or,
c. By pressing the PLU RECALL KEY followed by
a 2-digit PLU location.
Once the unit price is entered, the price to
pay of the article will be shown on the TOTAL
PRICE PANEL.
NOTE: Refer to 4.4 for more information about
PLU functions.
5.3.4 Show Price to Pay in Euro
a. Press NC/EURO.
b. The unit will display Euro on the UNIT PRICE
PANEL and the equivalent price to pay in
EURO will be displayed on the TOTAL PRICE
PANEL.
c. The unit will return to national currency
mode again after about 3 seconds.
d. Should a longer time of price to pay in EURO
is needed, hold NC/EURO.
NOTE:
a. The conversion function is effective only
when an appropriate country is selected
during default set up. Contact your dealer
for more information.

b. The conversion function works only when the
weight is stable.
c. An audio alarm will be generated if the EURO
unit price base is already selected when
pressing NC/EURO.
5.4 FOLLOW-UP TRANSACTIONS
When the present transaction is completed,
remove all loads from the platter.
A zero weight is now showed on the WEIGHT PANEL
while the previous unit price changes to zero.
Refer 5.3.1 to 5.3.4 for follow-up
transactions.
5.5 HOW TO TARE OFF THE WEIGHT OF A CONTAINER
When a container is used, follow the below steps
to tare the weight of the container off to get
a net weight result.
a. Remove all loads away from platter
b. Make sure that the ZERO INDICATOR is on.
c. Place the container on the platter.
d. Press TARE
After TARE is pressed, the TARE INDICATOR would
appear. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS for maximum
tare range.
Refer to 5.3 for transaction weighing
procedures. Weight displayed under this mode
is the net weight of the subject article.
5.4 HOW TO CLEAR THE TARE FUNCTION
Remove all loads from platter then press TARE.
After TARE is pressed, the TARE INDICATOR would
disappear.
5.7 FIXED UNIT PRICE FUNCTION
The FIXED UNIT PRICE FUNCTION can be utilized
when a same unit price is used for continuous
transactions.

5.7.1 Employ the FIXED UNIT PRICE FUNCTION
Follow the below steps to enable the FIXED UNIT
PRICE FUNCTION
a. Press F before or after entering the unit
price. Refer to 5.3.2 and 5.3.3 for unit
price entering.
b. Thefixed unitprice enteredis nowdisplayed
on the UNIT PRICE PANEL and the FIXED UNIT
PRICE INDICATOR is turned on.
c. Should a container is used, refer to 5.4
to tare off the weight of it.
d. Place an article onto the platter, the price
to pay is displayed on the TOTAL PRICE PANEL.
e. Remove the article from platter. The unit
price will remain on the UNIT PRICE PANEL.
f. Repeatc,dandeforfollow-uptransactions.
5.8.2 Disable the FIXED UNIT PRICE FUNCTION
a. Press Fagain to disable the FIXED UNIT PRICE
FUNCTION.
b. The FIXED UNIT PRICE INDICATOR is now turned
off.
NOTE: Even though the FIXED UNIT PRICE
FUNCTION is now cancelled, the unit price will
remain displayed on the UNIT PRICE PANEL. Press
CL to clear or enter a new unit price before
next transaction.
5.8 RECHARGE THE SCALE
The scale is equipped with a built-in
rechargeable battery. When the LO-BAT
indicator appears, recharge the scale
immediately. Failure to do so may cause
unrecoverable damages to the rechargeable
battery.
The scale can remain in operation when being
recharged. Charging is completed when the
IN-CHARGE indicator turns green.

6. TROUBLE SHOOTING
Syndrome Scale cannot be turned on
Check: Is the scale charged?
Action: Recharge the scale for at least 8
hours before first time use or plug
in the power adaptor before power
on the scale.
Check Is the power adaptor inserted
properly into both the electricity
outlet and the DC inlet of scale?
Action: Secure both ends of the power adaptor
and try again.
Syndrome Scale turned off automatically
Check Is the Auto Power Off function
employed?
Action Refer to 4.2.2 to disable the Auto
Power Off function.
Check Is the LO-BAT indicator on?
Action Apply the power adaptor.
Syndrome Rated capacity cannot be reached
Check Is the TARE INDICATOR on?
Action: Turn the scale off. Remove all loads
from platter and turn on again.
Check Is there anything obstructing the
platter?
Action Remove all obstacles.
Syndrome When turning on scale, all display
window blank out but only the Zero
and TARE INDICATOR appear
Check Is any load applied to platter when
turning scale on?
Action: Turn scale off. Remove all loads from
platter and turn scale on again.
Check Is the platter inserted properly?
Action: Turn scale off. Insert platter
properly and turn scale on again.

Syndrome Weight and Total Price Window blank
out during operation
Check Does the load applied to platter
exceed the rated capacity of scale?
Action Remove all loads from platter and
try again.
Syndrome Weighing result is not accurate
Check Is the scale placed in a level
condition?
Action Adjust the adjustable feet to a level
condition.
Check Is the scale affected by airflow,
vibration or RFI?
Action: Place the scale away from all
disturbances.
Check Is the scale calibrated correctly?
Action Contact your dealer.
7. DAILY CARE AND MAINTENANCE
7.1 Cleanthe scalewith asoft anddamp cloth.
If necessary, apply a mild detergent.
7.2 Do not use any harsh, abrasive material,
acetone, volatile solvent, thinner or
alcohol for cleaning.
7.3 Verify the accuracy of scale
periodically.
Note: In some countries, calibration is
restricted to be done by an
authorized/qualified agent only.
Contact your dealer for more
information.
7.4 It is a good practice to apply the dust
cover when operating the scale.
7.5 The scale must be placed horizontally
during transportation or long time
storage.
7.6 Remove platter from scale before
transportation or long time storage.
7.7 Store scale in a dry and clean place.
