Important Information
Product Description
GlideScope Go 2 is a handheld video laryngoscope system designed to deliver clear airway views,
both directly and indirectly, facilitating rapid intubation. The reusable 3.5-inch tilting color monitor and
rechargeable battery can be fully submerged for cleaning. Available user settings include auto-record,
auto-shutdown, and content display, supporting a more customized user experience. This system integrates
with the Spectrum QC product portfolio o󰀨ering fully disposable blades that can be swapped without
powering down the monitor. It also integrates with the GlideScope Video Baton QC Large, which reduces
electronic waste through the use of disposable Stats. GlideScope Go 2 is ideal for working under rugged
conditions, for routine and di󰀩cult airways, and in a wide range of patients and clinical settings.
Statement of Intended Use
The GlideScope Go 2 System is intended for use by qualied medical professionals to obtain a clear,
unobstructed view of the airway and vocal cords for medical procedures.

Federal (United States) law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician.
Notice to All Users
The system should be used only by individuals who have been trained and authorized by a physician, or
by health care providers who have been trained and authorized by the institution providing patient care.
Verathon recommends that all users do the following:
• Read the manual before using the instrument
• Obtain instruction from a qualied individual
• Practice using the video laryngoscope on a mannequin before clinical use
• Acquire clinical training experience on patients without airway abnormalities

Warnings & Cautions
Warnings indicate that injury, death, or other serious adverse reactions may result from use or misuse of
the device. Cautions indicate that use or misuse of the device may cause a problem, such as a malfunction,
failure, or damage to the product. Throughout the manual, pay attention to sections labeled Important, as
these contain reminders or summaries of the following cautions as they apply to a specic component or
use situation. Please heed the following warnings and cautions.
Warnings: Use
Before every use, ensure that the instrument is operating correctly and has no sign of damage.
Do not use this product if the device appears damaged. Refer servicing to qualied personnel.
Always ensure that alternative airway management methods and equipment are readily
available.
Report any suspected defects to Verathon Customer Care. For contact information, visit

WARNING
No modication of this equipment is allowed.
WARNING
When you are guiding the endotracheal tube to the distal tip of the video laryngoscope, ensure
that you are looking in the patient’s mouth, not at the screen. Failure to do so may result in
injury, such as to the tonsils or soft palate.
WARNING
The area surrounding the camera in the video laryngoscope can contact the patient and can
exceed 41°C (106°F) as part of normal operation. Patient contact with this area of the blade
during intubation is unlikely, as it would cause an obstruction of the camera view. Do not
maintain continuous contact with this area of the blade for longer than 1 minute; it is possible to
cause thermal damage such as a burn to the mucosal tissue.

Warnings: Reprocessing
Because the product may be contaminated with human blood or body uids capable of
transmitting pathogens, all cleaning facilities must be in compliance with (U.S.) OSHA Standard
29 CFR 1910.1030 “Bloodborne Pathogens” or an equivalent standard.

Ensure that you follow the manufacturer’s instructions for handling and disposing of cleaning,
disinfection, or sterilization solutions.
WARNING
Do not reuse, reprocess, or resterilize single-use components. Reuse, reprocessing, or
resterilization may create a risk of contamination of the device.
WARNING
Warnings: Product Safety
Electric shock hazard. Do not attempt to open the system components. This may cause serious
injury to the operator or damage to the instrument and voids the warranty. Contact Verathon
Customer Care for all servicing needs.
WARNING
Use of accessories and cables other than those specied or provided by Verathon may cause
this system to experience electromagnetic malfunctions, including increased emissions or
decreased immunity. This may cause improper operation, procedure delays, or both.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of electrical shock, use only the accessories and peripherals recommended
by Verathon. Use of accessories and cables other than those specied or provided by Verathon
may result in increased electromagnetic emissions or decreased electromagnetic immunity of
this equipment and may result in improper operation.
WARNING
The charging cradle should be used only for charging the GlideScope Go 2 monitor. Any use of
the charging cradle other than charging the GlideScope Go 2 monitor can cause malfunctions
or equipment damage.
WARNING
Verathon has conducted no analysis to establish the compatibility of the system with
environments where magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment is installed. Because of
this, the owner of the system must exclude it from any magnetic resonance (MR) environment.

Cautions
The monitor must be cleaned before initial use.
CAUTION
Medical electrical equipment requires special precautions regarding electromagnetic
compatibility (EMC) and must be installed and operated according to the instructions in this
manual. For more information, see the Electromagnetic Compatibility section.
CAUTION
This product may only be cleaned or disinfected by using the approved processes provided in
this manual. Cleaning and disinfection methods listed are recommended by Verathon based on
e󰀩cacy or compatibility with component materials.
CAUTION
Ensure the monitor's USB-C port is dry before connecting a power adapter or charging cradle.
If the USB-C port is not dry when a power adapter or charging cradle is connected to it, electric
shock, equipment damage, or system malfunctions can occur.
CAUTION
Ensure that you do not use any abrasive brushes, pads, or tools when cleaning or disinfecting
the video monitor screen. The screen can be scratched, permanently damaging the device.
CAUTION
Do not submerge the charging cradle in a liquid solution. Submerging the charging cradle in a
liquid solution can cause system malfunctions or damage to the monitor or the power adapter.
CAUTION
Ensure that the monitor is clean and free of contamination before placing it in the charging
cradle.

CAUTION
Do not use a knife or other sharp instrument to open packaging containing single-use video
laryngoscopes, and do not use such components if their packaging is damaged.

European Union only: If any serious incident occurs during use of this product, you must
immediately notify Verathon (or its authorized representative), the Competent Authority of the
Member State where the incident occurred, or both.

Introduction
System Overview
The GlideScope Go 2 system features a small handheld monitor that can use either GlideScope Spectrum QC
video laryngoscopes or a GlideScope Video Baton QC Large with GlideScope GVL Stats 3 and 4.
GlideScope Spectrum QC video laryngoscopes are durable, single-use plastic blades that must be disposed
of after one use. Single-use blades are identied by an S in their name, such as Hyperangle S4. These
blades incorporate the following technologies:
• Dynamic Light Control—Enables optimization of image quality and brightness at the vocal cords.
GVL Stats are durable, transparent, single-use laryngoscope shells that t over a exible, reusable Video
Baton QC Large. The Stats contain no active components, so waste is kept to a minimum. Although they are
single-use devices, they do not have an S in their names.

Buttons, Icons, & Connections
The following tables provide general information regarding the buttons and icons on the monitor.
Table 3. Monitor Buttons and Icons
BUTTON FUNCTION
Power: This is a physical button located on the top of the monitor.
Snapshot: Takes a photo of the video feed. While the photo is being saved, the icon
changes to the following icon:
Saving snapshot. Icon returns to standard Snapshot icon when complete.
Record (toggle): Records the video feed.
While recording, and depending on the recording status and mode, the record button’s icon
changes to one of the following:
Waiting for system. This can take up to 5 seconds.
Video is recording. Tap to end recording.
A recording error has occurred.
Dynamic Light Control (DLC): Toggles the DLC feature. Only displays when the attached
blade supports DLC.
DLC O󰀨: Dynamic Light Control is turned o󰀨.
DLC On: Dynamic Light Control is turned on.
DLC Error: An error occurred while setting the Dynamic Light Control.
More: Contains the Settings menu icon and DLC icon.
Settings: Opens the Settings menu.

Battery Status: Indicates the remaining battery power and the estimated time remaining.
0:09 Red battery: Less than 10 minutes of battery life remaining.
0:24 Gold battery: 11 to 25 minutes of battery life remaining.

Forward: Moves to the next screen or setting.

Cancel: Closes the current window or message, canceling any setting change that was in
progress.
Save or Conrm: Saves and closes the current setting or acknowledges and closes a
message.
Toggle (on): Indicates the associated setting is turned on.
Toggle (o󰀨): Indicates the associated setting is turned o󰀨.
Display text: Shows secure text while typing
Hide text: Hides secure text while typing

Setting Up
Please read the Warnings & Cautions section before performing the following tasks.
Before you can use the system for the rst time, you must inspect the components, set up the system, and
perform a functional test as recommended by Verathon. Complete the following procedures:
1. Perform Initial Inspection—Inspect the system for any obvious physical damage that may have occurred
during shipment.
2. Charge the Battery— Verathon recommends that you charge the battery fully prior to rst use. You
cannot use the system while the battery is charging.
3. Complete the Setup Wizard (Optional) The Setup Wizard walks you through an initial system
conguration with settings such as the date, time, and system security code.
4. Congure User Settings (Optional)—Enter data customized to your facility, and congure settings such
as the date, time, video timestamps, and other administrative settings.
5. Insert the Video Baton into the Stat (Optional)—Prepare the video baton for use.
6. Attach the Blade or Baton—Connect the video baton or blade to the monitor.
7. Perform a Functional Check—Before you use the device for the rst time, perform a functional check to
ensure that the system is working properly.
Procedure 1. Perform Initial Inspection
1. Verify that you have received the appropriate components for your system by referring to the packing list
included with the system.
2. Inspect the components for damage.
3. If any of the components are missing or damaged, notify the carrier and either Verathon Customer Care
or your local representative.
4. Fully charge the monitor battery.

Procedure 2. Charge the Battery
Please read the Warnings & Cautions section before performing the following tasks.
The GlideScope Go 2 monitor includes an internal lithium battery. Verathon recommends that you charge
the battery fully prior to rst use.
Under normal operating conditions, a fully charged battery lasts approximately 100 minutes before it needs
to be recharged. For optimal battery life, ensure that the battery is fully charged before you use the monitor.
You should charge the battery at temperatures between 10 and 40°C (50 and 104°F).
An estimate of the time remaining is shown on the battery icon. As the battery is depleted, the battery status
bar shrinks, changing color at certain levels.
For more about the battery and charging conditions, see Battery Specications on page 32.

1. If charging directly from the USB-C port, ensure the port on the monitor is dry, and then connect a
Verathon approved power adapter to the USB-C port on the monitor.
Note: Using an unapproved power adapter may not charge the battery correctly. Please replace the
unapproved power adapter with the power adapter provided with the system.
If charging with the charging cradle, ensure the cradle’s power adapter is connected to a hospital-grade
power outlet, and then place the monitor in the cradle.

2. Allow the battery to charge until the indicator LED is solid green. See the following table for a summary
of how the indicator LED indicates the charge level and condition of the battery.

3. The monitor is not operational while charging. If the monitor is connected to power while turned on, a
notice displays on the screen, and then the monitor automatically shuts down after 5 seconds.
4. Remove the monitor from the cradle, and then press the Power button to turn the monitor on.
Note: Do not attach a blade or baton at this time.

Procedure 3. Complete the Setup Wizard (Optional)
The rst time the monitor is turned on, a setup wizard guides you through some initial settings. If the setup
wizard has already been completed, or you decide to skip the setup wizard, all settings can be modied in
Congure User Settings (Optional) on page 18.
The setup wizard step is shown at the top of the display. Use the Back and Forward buttons to
navigate through the wizard. To exit the wizard, tap the Close button.
Note: You may need to scroll down to see all options within a settings page.
1. Tap Start to begin the Setup Wizard. If you do not want to complete the Setup Wizard at this time, tap
Cancel to exit the wizard.
2. Select the system language, and then tap the Forward button to continue.
