1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 General
Your telephoneis connected to an advanced-technology, highly-
versatile, fully-featuredtelecom system designedto make office
communications easy andproductive.
1.2 Feature Information
Wehave taken every effort tomakethis userguidesimple and
straightforward. The guidestarts with thesimpleroperations of
thePhoneSpeakerphone, moves onto receiving and placing
calls, andthentomore advanced features. Eachsection
includes a brief and basic description of each feature andstep-
by-stepoperationinstructions.
The operations shown in this guide use the System‘s base default
NumberingPlan. Yourspecific NumberingPlanmay bedifferent.
Somefeatures may not beavailable foryou to access ormay be
subject tocertain limitations basedontheset-up oftheSystem.
Under certainoperatingconditions, this equipment may not be
able tomake emergency calls. Alternative arrangements should
be made for access to emergency services.
1.3 Feature Groupings
Every effort has beentakento divide thefeatures into a logical
and consistentsequence sothat features canbequickly located.
Features have been divided into groups, Receiving Calls, Placing
Calls etc. Within each group, features arearranged accordingto
the difficulty of operation andfrequency of use.

Edge 9200 series (shown)incorporate userinterfaceto provide
you with a cost effective, simpleto use, productive
communications tool. For the detailedspecification, refer tothe
below table.
Features andfunctions ofyourPhone areaccessed eitherusing
theFixed orFlexible buttons or by selecting amenu item using
theSoft buttons. In the remainderof this Quick Guide,the Fixed
or Flexiblebuttons areshown witha box surroundingthe
BUTTON designationwhileSoft buttonmenuselections are
shown witha double underline. Somebuttons have to be
programmed onthe flexible buttonby usingtheuser program
code. It is called ‗programmed xxxx‘button.
Edge 9200 8-ButtonPhone does not support Soft buttonmenu.
Soyouhave to assigntheFlexible buttonusingFeaturecodeif
you needto beoperated.

The functions of button
Below is a brief description of the elements called out in the above Edge
9200 series Phone diagrams.
1. Ring/Message Indicator: Flashes when receiving a new call or
you have a new message waiting.
2. LCD Display: Displays your phones status, dialing directories, and
text message information.
3. Handset: Use to answer a call using the handset.
4. Speaker: Delivers ringing and other signals, and lets you hear the
caller‘s voce in speakerphone mode.
5. Dial pad buttons: Use to dial a number, select a menu item, or
input a value.
6. Speakerphone button: Toggles the phone speakerphone on and
off. The button illuminates when the speakerphone is active or the
phone is in menu mode.
7. Volume control button: Use to adjust Ring, Headset, Handset,
and Speaker volume.
8. Flexible buttons: Assigned as Line or feature access button.
Edge 9200 8-ButtonPhone has 8-flexiblebuttons.
Edge 9200 24-ButtonPhone has 24-flexiblebuttons.
Edge 9200 40-ButtonPhone has 2*12-flexible buttons.
9. Soft keys: Soft keys are interactive, changing function based on
the status of Edge 9200 24-Button & 40-Button Phone. Edge 9200
8-Button Phone does not support Soft keys.
10. Navigation key for Edge 9200 40-Button Phone
Left: Useto select theprevious group ofsoft keys when
◄appears inthebottom-left ofthe LCD.
Right: Useto select thenext groupofsoft keys when ►
appears in the bottom-right ofthe LCD.
Up: Scrolls through the phone‘s menuoptions upward.
Down: Scrolls through the phone‘s menu options
downward.
OK: Selects thehighlighted choice when navigating
through amenu.

Edge 9200 8-Button Phone does not support some buttons: Flash,
Directory, and Headset among the below buttons.
Flash button: Use to seize the newline without on-hook.
So you can make a call bydialing the desired number.
Speed button: Use toassign yourspeeddial numbers.
The buttonalso deletes thelastcharacter of aninput in
themenumode such as registering Stationname.
Transfer/PGM button: Transfers thecurrent active call
or to enterprogrammingmode.
Directory button:Accessesyour private orpublic
directory for speeddialing.
DND (Do Not Disturb)/FWD button: Useto activate
DND sothat yourphone will not ring. Use to allowyouto
forward all calls toanother numberby settingthecall
forward type(1~4).
Call Back button:When theMWI LEDindicatesyou
have a message, use to access yourVoice Mailbox.
Mute button: Toggles audio from themicrophoneto the
connectedparty on andoff.
Hold/Save button: Usetoplace acall on Hold. Also, use
to access a heldcall. Inmenumode, it saves yourinputs.
Ear Mic. Headset button:Whenusing aEarMic.
headset, this buttontoggles the Ear Mic. headset state.
When theEarMic. headset is active, thebuttonLED
illuminates red. Or, press [PGM] +19andthenset ON.

1.6 DSS Console
The available DSS (Direct StationSelection) console shows in
figure below anddescribed as follows:
Edge 9200 48-Button Direct StationSelection(DSS) has 48
flexiblebuttons withtri-color LED.
1.6.1 DSS(Direct Station Selection) Console Installation
A DSSconsole can beinstalled with Edge9200 series phone.
As we described the available DSS for each phone, the available
DSS is as below:
Edge 9200 8-Button Phone: no DSS
Edge 9200 24-Button Phone: Edge 9200 48-Button Direct
StationSelection
Edge 9200 40-Button Phone: Edge 9200 48-Button Direct
StationSelection
The DSS console should beinstalled onthephone priorto making
any connections to the phone. This simplifies theinstallation.
1. First, assure the
phone is NOT
connectedto power.
Forconvenience,
youmay wish to
remove the handset
and foot-stand; this
simplifies the DSS
installation.

2. On theright sideof
the phone, remove
the DSScover.
3. Align the DSS and
phone as shownin
the drawing.
4. Pushthe DSS into
the phoneuntil the
DSS is fully engaged.
5. Insert thescrews
provided through thescrewtabs inthe DSS andtightenthe
screws intothe phone. Donot over-tighten.
1.7 Edge 9200 Series Phone Installation
1.7.1 Phone Connections
Edge 9200 series have 3 connection ports (refer to following
figure). each port is for connectingto: Handset, EarMic., andthe
line cable.
1) Connect thetelephonecord (curlycord) to the handset and
the other endtothe handset jack at thebottom ofthe
telephone.
2) Connect the linecable to the port at the bottom of telephone
and theotherendto thewall socket.
3) Connect theEarMic. to the jack at thebottom ofthe
telephone. To useEarMic. function, press [PGM] +19and
thenset ON.

1.7.2 Wall Mount
Edge 9200 series phonescan bemounted onthe wall as needed.
The following instructions describethewall mount installation.
Notethe foot-stand must be removed.
1. If installed, remove the
foot-standfrom the
Phone and DSS.
2. Connect all wiringto
the phoneas described
in ―1.7.1Phone
connection‖. Connect
the phoneside wiring
only.
3. If required, install the
DSSconsole.
4. Alignthewall-mount bracket (orderedseparately) over the
back ofthe phone, then press thebracket onto thephone
applyingsteady pressureuntil it clicks into place.
5. Install the DSSconsole wall-mount bracket if required, in
thesame way as thebracket forthephone.
6. Mark and drill two7mm holes for plastic wall anchors (not
included).
7. Insert thetwo anchors into the holes, andinsert andtighten
the two screws (not included) leaving about 2.5mm (1/8-
inch) exposed.
8. Alignthekey holes in thebracket over thescrews andslide
the phonedownassuringthephoneis secure.
9. Remove, reverse and re-install the handset hooksothat
the hook catchesthe groove inthe handset receiver.
10. Hang thehandset up on the handset hook.
11. Complete all wiring connections as described in ―1.7.1
Phoneconnection‖.
NOTE
It may be necessary toremove thephoneandtighten orloosen
thescrews for a secure mounting.

1.8 Registering Station Name
UsercanregisterStationname by using CharacterEntry Chart.
Edge 9200 series have twotypes of CharacterEntry Chart.
First, we explainthe way to registerStation name forEdge92008-
ButtonPhone / Edge 920024-Button Half Duplex Phone.
(e.g., A=21, B=22, C=23, T=81, Space=*1)
To delete thecharacter
Youcandelete thecharacterby pressing SPEED button.
To save thecharacter
Press the OK Soft button or SAVE button.

You can enter upper or lower case letters, symbols, or numeric
characters. You can change the input mode (ABC, abc, Symbol,
or 123) by pressing the second soft button.
To delete thecharacter

1.9 Entering Character by using Entry chart
Except registering Station name andStation Speed dial name
assignment, entering Chracter is followed by the below‗Character
Entry chart‘. Characters are enteredby pressing thedial pad digit
with thecharacter multipletimes basedonthecharacterposition
on thebutton.
To delete thecharacter
Youcandelete thecharacterby pressing the Delete Soft button or
SPEED button.
To save the character
