Product Overview
The VIA AMOS-820 industrial system is an ultra-com act solution designed to take full advantage of the
su er ower-efficient, ARM based VIA VAB-820 Pico-ITX board, making it easy to create a broad
s ectrum of easy to assemble, fanless system designs for a wide variety of embedded a lications.
A com letely fanless system measuring 150.5mm (W) x 48.1mm (H) x 103.3mm (D), the AMOS-820
features a ruggedized design able to withstand a wide o erating tem erature range of -20°C u to 65°C
while offering extremely low ower consum tion under ty ical o eration.
On-board storage includes 4GB of eMMC Flash and can be ex anded through one Micro SD card. In
addition, an o tional miniPCIe slot is rovided for 3G/Wi-Fi connectivity. Com rehensive I/O functions on
front and back anels make the AMOS-820 a flexible solution for a wide range of embedded a lications.
Front anel I/O includes one reset button, one Power & WPAN/WWAN/Wi-Fi LED, one D-sub 9- in
connector su orting 2 x CAN bus, one COM1 ort, one USB 2.0 ort, one Micro USB 2.0 ort
(su orting OTG), one DC-in jack, three 3.5Ø hone jack connectors and one DIO ort; while back anel
I/O includes, one Micro SD/SPI boot select switch, one Gigabit Ethernet ort, two USB 2.0 orts, one
HDMI

ort and one com osite RCA jack.

1.1.1. ARM based System
With an NXP i.MX 6Quad Cortex-A9 ARM SoC, the VIA ARM based system AMOS-820 delivers owerful
erformance to a host of connected device a lications.
1.1.2. Fanless, Ruggedized, Ultra com act and S ace saving
The AMOS-820 has an ultra com act, ruggedized chassis which is designed to save s ace that makes it
suitable to install in s ace critical environment and to ensure maximum reliability. Its chassis design has a
robust aluminum alloy to cover and steel bottom chassis.
1.1.3. Stylish and fully sealed design
The chassis of the AMOS-820 is com osed of four main arts. The stylish ridged aluminum to cover does
double duty and acts as the heatsink of the AMOS-820.
1.1.4. O timize integration with multi le I/O access
Front and back I/O access enables the AMOS-820 to easily su ort various a lications as well as for
easy integration and quick setu .
1.1.5. Storage Ex ansion
The Micro SD slot enables the AMOS-820 to have a flexible storage of Micro SD card memory.
1.1.6. Wide Range of O erating Tem erature
The AMOS-820 carries a qualified thermal erformance design which allows a wide range of o erating
tem erature from -20°C u to 65°C, suitable for critical a lications.
1.1.7. Shock Resistant
AMOS-820 is shock resistant to 70G for maximum reliability.
1.1.8. Networking O tion
The AMOS-820 is equi ed with RJ-45 ort that su orts high s eed Gigabit Ethernet. An o tional
miniPCIe slot is rovided for 3G/Wi-Fi (WLAN) connectivity.

Integrated Powered Device (PD) controller and switching regulator intended for high ower IEEE 802.3at
and 802.3af a lications. The ower over Ethernet (PoE) PD board can out ut 25W of ower. The AMOS-
820 can be o erated using either PoE or external ada tors (12V).
1.1.10. Multi le Mounting O tion
The AMOS-820 su orts multi le methods for mounting the chassis securely. The rugged industrial PC
can be mounted to a table, wall, or any flat surface

The AMOS-820 is 100% com atible with Android 4.4.2 and Linux Kernel 3.10.17 o erating systems.

chamber, a number of variables can influence this result. Please note that the working tem erature may
vary de ending on the actual situation and environment. It is highly suggested to execute a solid testing
and take all the variables into consideration when building the system. Please ensure that the system runs
well under the o erating tem erature in terms of a lication.
2. Please note that the lifes an of the onboard eMMC memory chi may vary de ending on the amount of
access. More frequent and larger data access on eMMC memory makes its lifes an shorter. Therefore, it is
highly recommended to use a re laceable external storage (e.g., Micro SD card) for large data access.

2.8. Audio Jacks
There are three audio jack rece tacles on the front anel. Each rece tacle can fit a 3.5 mm Ti Ring
Sleeve (TRS) connector enables connection to Line-in, Line-out and Mic-in. The Line-in jack is for
connecting an external audio device such as CD layer, ta e layer and etc. The Line-out jack is for
connecting to external s eakers or head hones. The Mic-in jack is for connecting to a micro hone.
