key have the tandard recorder key function a explained below.
Record Backward Stop Pau e/Play Forward Skip
The and key can be u ed to croll through number in the
telephone book or through a etting menu. If no recording or playback
i taking place the e key alway have an Up/Down or Left/Right
function. The key will alway exit the current operation.

can corrode the electronic circuit .

1 Operation and Important information
The Call Recorder Single II come in different ver ion ; the HD9900 with
or without activated SD-interface and the Fla h 10 with or without
activated SD-interface.
In thi manual it i a umed that the Single II ha an activated SD-
interface. The menu option and po ibilitie of the recorder may be
different to what you ee in thi manual if you have a Single II without
SD-interface option.
The Single II ha a common menu driven u er interface. Mo t function
and operation are initiated by pre ing a function key followed by a
equence of di play determined menu key . The u e of function key and
menu key i indicated a follow :

in the function key . Pre ing one of the function key will alway re ult
in a di play where the variou option are a igned to the four menu
key .

four menu key . The operation of the menu key i determined by the
text in the di play right above the corre ponding key. If there i an
underlying menu the MENU

2 Getting started
In thi Chapter the connection of the Single II are de cribed. There are
different type of the Single II:
Single II Fla h 10 ( max. 10 hour recording capacity on Fla h di k)
Single II HD 9900 (max. 10.880 hour recording capacity on Drive.)

2.2 Connecting the power supply
The Single II i powered through a wall ocket power adapter.
• Fir t connect the power adapter to the wall ocket.
• Then connect the mini jack of the adapter to the Power connector
on the back ide of the Single II.
2.3 Setting up the Single II for use
To configure the Single II for u e the Clock need to be et and the
Language need to be elected. Setting the Clock and electing the
Language are de cribed in the next two paragraph .

3 bout the Call Recorder
The Single II i de igned for continuou unattended recording.
Recording can be tarted and topped automatically for each individual
call. The method of automatic tarting and topping of recording can
differ for the variou configuration . Plea e check the Chapter 12 about
the Setting for detail .
There are different ver ion of the Single II. The u e and operation for
the different model i exactly the ame. In the Search/Playback menu
you will be prompted to elect "Di k" or "SD" before the menu
continue .
The Call Recorder Single II come in different ver ion ; the HD9900 and
the Fla h 10.
In thi manual it i a umed that the Single II ha an activated SD-
interface. The menu option and po ibilitie of the recorder may be
different to what you ee in thi manual if you have a Single II without
activated SD-interface.

Depending on the model the Single II ha an internal Drive or Fla h Di k.
All recording are tored digitally on one of the available data carrier .
The torage capacity of the Drive en ure the Call Recorder' ability of
long term unattended recording. Other advantage of the Call Recorder
are that recording are randomly earchable. If the SD card option i
purcha ed from Vidicode, the SD Acce oftware will give quick and
ea y acce to the databa e of recording on the SD card.
The Single II i ue a warning when the Drive i getting full. If the
warning i ignored the olde t recording will be overwritten by the
newe t. Stored recording can be archived u ing the optional Call
Recorder Acce oftware. It i al o po ible to copy recording from the
Drive to SD. Copying recording to SD can be done in different way for
different purpo e . It i po ible to copy one recording, copy a election
of recording or copy all new recording automatically. Recording on
SD can be viewed and played with the SD Acce oftware that come
with the SD card option.

The digital format of the recording i determined by the u e of peech
compre ion. The Call Recorder compre e recording default according
to the GSM format. Thi type of compre ion ha a good balance
between audio quality and recording ize and i compatible for mo t
Window ver ion . Compre ed recording take up 1/5th of the ize of
uncompre ed recording . Therefore the compre ion ha a profound
effect on the torage capacity of the Call Recorder in term of recording
time.

All Single have a Network interface. The Single II can be connected to a
PC or computer network through the Ethernet interface. With it own IP
addre the Call Recorder act a an Ftp- erver from which recording
can be downloaded. The optional Call Recorder Acce oftware can be
u ed to connect to the Call Recorder over the network to retrieve
recording from the Single II and archive the recording on the PC. The
Call Recorder Acce oftware ha exten ive archiving capabilitie
including the creation of pecial archive uited for backup on CD. The
Ethernet connection al o allow for RTR Call monitoring over the
network. The optional RTR Call Monitor oftware can be u ed to
monitor all connected telephone line over the network.

The Single II ha it own menu driven earch function to find and play
pecific recording . Recording can be earched for according to Date
and Code, by default the Called number or Caller ID will be tored a
Code. The Single II ha an internal peaker for playback of recording .

All recording can be encrypted. The Single II u e the CryptoCard option
for thi feature. Playback of encrypted recording i impo ible without
the CryptoCard. Playback of encrypted recording on a PC i po ible
only with the optional CryptoCard reader in conjunction with the
original or a matching CryptoCard.
