Surfac Cooking Tips
• Th simm r marking on th control pan l is th b ginning of th
variabl simm r s tting and produc s a high simm r s tting. Turn th
knob slowly towards “OFF” and th flam will adjust to a low r simm r
s tting.
• Us low or m dium flam h ights wh n cooking in cookwar that ar
poor conductors of h at, such as glass, c ramic, and cast iron. R duc
th flam h ight until it cov rs approximat ly 1/3 of th cookwar
diam t r. This will nsur mor v n h ating within th cookwar and
r duc th lik lihood of burning or scorching th food.

Ignition/R -ignition Syst m (ESIRS)
To light th surfac burn rs, turn th appropriat
control knob count r-clockwis to any position.
This control is both a gas valv and an l ctric
switch. Wh n you turn th control knob to any on
position, you will h ar a clicking sound. This is th sound of th l ctronic
saf ty r -ignition syst m (ESIRS) that will ignit th corr sponding burn r
with a 2 s conds saf ty d lay. Onc ignit d, th clicking sound will stop. If
th flam go s out for any r ason, th burn r will automatically att mpt to
r -ignit on tim . If it fails to r -ignit , th ESIRS will automatically shut
down th gas f d to th burn r. Fiv s conds lat r, th ESIRS will
automatically att mpt to r -ignit th burn r on tim by r -op ning th
gas f d. You will h ar a clicking sound again. If th burn r fails to r -ignit
onc mor , th abov cycl will b r p at d. Aft r 5 att mpts to r -ignit
th burn r, th ESIRS will automatically shut down th gas f d to th
burn r compl t ly. To r start th ignition proc ss you must turn th knob
to th off position and to any on position again. Aft r a 2 s conds saf ty
d lay th ignition proc ss will b gin again. Wh n th burn r lights, you
can turn th burn r control to any position to adjust th flam siz . S tting

Note: The igniters may click a number of times before the burner ignites.
This is normal. All igniters will spark regardless of which burner is being
operated.
