INSTALLATI N
Upon receiving the VWR Incubating/Cooling Shaker, check to ensure
that no damage has occurred in shipment. It is important that any
damage that occurred in transport is detected at the time of unpacking.
If you do find such damage the carrier must be notified immediately.
After unpacking, place the Incubating/Cooling Shaker on a level bench
or table, away from explosive vapors. Secure to a non-movable work
surface by pressing down on the four (4) corners of the unit, creating
a strong suction to the work surface (D N T place on a bench mat).
Ensure that the surface on which the unit is placed will withstand
typical heat produced by the unit. Always place the unit on a sturdy
work surface.
The Incubating/Cooling Shaker is supplied with a power cord that is
inserted into the IEC connector on the back of the unit first, then it
can be plugged into a properly grounded outlet. The 120V unit plugs
into a 120 volt, 50/60 Hz source. The 230V unit plugs into a 230
volt, 50/60 Hz source.
MAINTENANCE & SERVICING
The Incubating/Cooling Shaker is built for long, trouble-free, dependable
service. No lubrication or other technical user maintenance is required.
It needs no user maintenance beyond keeping the surfaces clean. The
unit should be given the care normally required for any electrical
appliance. Avoid wetting or unnecessary exposure to fumes. Spills
should be removed promptly. D N T use a cleaning agent or solvent
on the front panel or lid which is abrasive or harmful to plastics, nor
one which is flammable. Avoid cleaning in direct sunlight to prevent
streaking of the polycarbonate lid. Always ensure the power is
disconnected from the unit prior to any cleaning. If the unit ever
requires service, contact your VWR representative.

hazardous atmosphere or with hazardous materials for which
the unit was not designed. Also, the user should be aware that
the protection provided by the equipment may be impaired if
used with accessories not provided or recommended by the
manufacturer, or used in a manner not specified by the
manufacturer.
D N T lift unit by the tray or lid. Always operate unit on a level
surface for best performance and maximum safety.
CAUTI N! To avoid electrical shock, completely cut off power
to the unit by disconnecting the power cord from the unit or
unplug from the wall outlet. Disconnect unit from the power
supply prior to maintenance and servicing.
Spills should be removed promptly. D N T immerse the unit for
cleaning. D N T operate the unit if it shows signs of electrical
or mechanical damage.

T he front panel of the Incubating/Cooling Shaker contains all the controls and
displays needed to operate the unit.
A. Standby button/standby indicator light: The standby indicator light will
illuminate when the unit is plugged in. The unit will be in standby mode. Press
the standby button to start the temperature, speed and time functions. The
standby indicator light will shut off. Press the standby button again and the
unit will once again be in standby mode.
B. Temperature display: Displays the actual/set-point temperatures in conjunc-
tion with the actual/set-point indicator lights. C. On/off button starts/stops the
heating/cooling function. Up/down arrows for set-point control.
D. Actual indicator light: Illuminates when the temperature displayed is the
actual temperature of the plate.
E. Set-point indicator light: Illuminates when the set-point temperature is dis-
played.
F. Caution hot indicator light: Illuminates when the temperature is above 40°C
(104° ).
G. Program display: Displays the speed of the shaker. H. Start button
starts/stops shaking function. I. Up/down arrows for on the select button for
speed set-point control.
J. Time display: Displays accumulated time (continuous mode) or how much
time is remaining (timed mode). The display range is from 0 to 9,999 minutes
in one (1) second increments. The display will indicate minutes and seconds
until the timer reaches 99 minutes and 59 seconds (99:59), then the display will
automatically display minutes up to 9,999. K. Pause button starts/stops the
time function.

PERATING INSTRUCTI NS
The Incubating/Cooling Shaker has been designed to heat/cool and shake
PCR plates in the standard or manual mode.
The temperature, speed and time functions work independently of one
another. The temperature and speed can be re-set without re-setting the
timer and the timer can be stopped and started without interrupting the
heating/cooling and shaking functions.
MDE SELECTI N
This unit can run in three modes; Standard/Manual mode, User
Programmable mode, or a predefined Profile mode. The unit will power
up in whatever mode was last selected.
To change modes: With unit in Standby, hold Select Down Arrow (I) and
Abort (M) buttons, then press the Standby (A) button. Use the “Select”
button to display the desired mode. STD is the standard or manual mode
that allows the user to select settings for temperature, speed, and or
time. Pr1 is a predefined profile. Pr2, Pr3, Pr4, and Pr5 are 4 programs
available to be user defined. These programs must be defined and saved
prior to being avaiable as a selection. The time display will show “USEd”.
When the desired program is displayed, press the Start (H) button to
begin operation.
See page 8 for user defined programming instructions and page 13 for
running the predefined program.
STANDARD/MANUAL MDE
1. Getting ready:
a. Plug the cord into a properly grounded, 3-pronged outlet. The standby
indicator light will illuminate, and a single audible beep will sound,

verifying power to the shaker.
b. Press the standby button to move the unit from standby mode.
The temperature, speed and time displays will illuminate. Each
display indicates the previously used settings.
2. Setting temperature:
a. Press the up/down arrows below the temperature display until you
reach the desired temperature. When you release the button, the
display will blink off and then on indicating the new set temperature
has been accepted. The lights above to the temperature display will
alternate between the actual and set temperature showing both
values, until five (5) audible beeps sound indicating set temperature
has been reached.
b. Press the on/off button to start the heating/cooling function. The
indicator light below the temperature display will illuminate to
indicate the heating/cooling function is in use.
c. Set-point temperature adjustments can be made without interrupting
heating or cooling by using the up/down arrows below the temperature
display. After the change has been made and you release the button,
the display will blink off and then on indicating the new set
temperature has been accepted.
d. To stop heating or cooling, press the on/off button below the
temperature display. The temperature indicator light will turn off.
STANDARD MDE CLING RATE SELECTI N
If your application calls for more than one incubation temperature and
the second temperature is lower, you can select the rate at which your
samples cool down to the next temperature.
a. Make sure that the system is in Standard mode (“Std” program) and
place the system in “Standby”.
b. Press and hold the “Temperature On Off” button.
c. While holding the “Temperature On Off” button, press and release
the “Standby” button.
d. Use the “Temperature Up” or “Temperature Down” buttons to scroll
through all available ramp rates.
r1: No ramp (temperature will decrease as fast as possible)
r2: 3.5 Degrees C/minute
r3: 1.8 Degrees C/minute
r4: 0.9 Degrees C/minute
* Rates are estimated using a 20°C ambient. Actual rates are conditions
permitting.
d. Press and release the “Standby” button to
save the cooling ramp rate. All temperature
transitions from a higher-to-lower tempera-
ture in Standard mode will use the selected
ramp rate. The temperature ramp rate in Standard Mode is inde-
pendent of any ramp rates in program mode.
Caution hot indicator:
The caution hot indicator light warns that the temperature is above 40°C
(104° ). The light will illuminate and remain on when the temperature
reaches approximately 40°C (104° ). When the heat is turned off, the
caution hot indicator light will stay on until the temperature falls below
40°C (104° ).
3. Setting speed:
a. Press the up/down arrows on the “Select” button below the pro-
gram display until you reach the desired speed. When you release the
button, the display will blink off and then on indicating the new set
speed has been accepted.
b. Press the ”Start” button to begin the shaking function. The indica-
tor light below the program display will illuminate to indicate
the shaking function is in use and will flash until the set speed 6

is reached. The microprocessor controlled ramping feature slowly
increases speed until the set-point is reached. This helps to avoid
splashing, and provides excellent low end control.
c. Speed adjustments can be made without interrupting shaking by
using the up/down arrows below the program display. After the
change has been made and you release the button, the display will
blink off and then on indicating the new set speed has been
accepted.
4. Setting time to zero (0:00) and continuous mode: Accumulated time.
a. Press and hold the “Pause” button below of the time display. After
three (3) seconds, the display will indicate the previous set time.
b. Simultaneously press both the “Program” and “Abort” buttons, the
display will indicate zero (0:00). The unit time is now set to zero
(0:00) minutes. Alternately, you can use the “Program” and “Abort”
buttons separately to get to zero (0:00).
c. Press the “Pause” button below the time display. The display will
indicate accumulated time. The “Program” and “Abort” buttons will
become inactive. To stop timer, press the ”Pause” button again.
IMP RTANT: This will N T interrupt the shaking function. Press the
“Start” button below the program display to interrupt the shaking
function.
d. To reset, press and hold the “Pause” button below the time display.
After three (3) seconds the display will indicate the previous set
time, which was zero (0:00).
5. Setting timed mode: Programmed time.
a. Press the Program (up) and Abort (down) buttons below the time
display until you reach the desired time.
b. Start this function by pressing the “Pause” button below the time
display. The unit will run for the selected time, the “Program” and
“Abort” buttons will become inactive while the timer is running.
The unit will stop shaking when time display reaches zero (0:00).
our (4) audible beeps will indicate the time down function is com-
plete. The time display will default back to the set time. To repeat
this function for the same set time, simply depress the “Pause” but-
ton again.
c. To interrupt an automatic timing cycle before it is completed, press
the “Pause” button below the time display. The display will flash
off and on to indicate the time function is on "hold".
IMP RTANT: This will N T interrupt the shaking function. Press the
“Start” button below the program display to interrupt the shaking
function. Restart the timer by pressing the “Pause” button below
the time display. Unit will continue counting down to zero (0:00).
When the display reaches zero (0:00), you will hear the four (4)
audible beeps that indicate the count down function is complete
and the shaking function will stop.
6. Turning unit off:
a. To turn the unit off, press the Standby button. The temperature,
program and time displays will be blank, the standby indicator light
will illuminate. The Incubating/Cooling Shaker should be kept in
standby mode when not in use.
PERATING TIPS
Shaker will automatically restart after a power interruption. Built-in
memory maintains the last used temperature, speed and time settings
during a power interruption.
The shaker will shut down if the tray is prevented from rotating, or the
unit is overloaded beyond the recommended capacity.
BEEPER PREFERENCE (muting audible alarm)
To silence beeper operation (except for error codes), with the unit in

standby mode, press and hold the “Pause” button and press the Standby
button. Release the Standby button first, and then release the pause
button. To restore normal beeper operation, remove AC power to unit for
10 seconds and then restore.
CALIBRATI N:
Speed:
1. Enter the “Standard” mode using the steps identified above.
2. Set the speed to the desired calibration point.
3. Press and hold the Standby (A) button and press the Start (H) but-
ton. The Program display (G) will be flashing.
4. Using a tachometer, enter the measured value using the Program
Speed Selection arrows (I)
5. Press the Standby (A) button to save. The shaker is now calibrat-
ed for this speed.
Temperature (Single Point Calibration):
1. Enter the “Standard” mode using the steps identified in Mode
Selection. (page 5)
2. Using a ine Wire Thermocouple, place the wire in the center well
of block B. If you were loading a PCR plate with the letters hori-
zontal and at the top and the numbers were vertical and to the left,
the position would be D7. Although this position is not critical to
the calibration, consistency is, when verifying a calibration.
3. Set the temperature to the desired calibration point and press the
On/Off (C) button to start heating or cooling.
4. Allow temperature to stabilize for at least one hour. The lid should
remain closed during calibration.
5. Press and hold the Standby (A) and press and hold the Temperature
Up arrow (C).
6. The display value will flash
7. Using the Temperature arrows, enter the value that was measured
using the external temperature device.
8. Press the standby button (A) to save and exit the temperature cal-
ibration mode. The decimal point in the temperature display will
flash indicating a single point calibration is being used.
Up to 3 single point calibrations (SPC) can be stored. The unit will now
use the biased offset for that specific temperature setting and increase
and decrease temperature accordingly to bring the temperature to set
temperature. All other temperature settings will use the standard inter-
nal calibration. This offset will be stored in memory and retained until
reset.
To delete a SPC, the SPC set point should be in the Temperature display.
(there will be a flashing decimal point) Press the Standby (A) and
Temperature Down arrow (C). The unit will beep 2 times to indicate the
deletion is complete.
USE DEFINED PR GRAM MDE:
Program Details - Limitations:
1. Up to four (4) programs can be entered.
a. The programs are stored until deleted from memory.
b. The total number of program steps allowed is 48. This total
is shared by all four program modes.
2. Individual program steps cannot be inserted or deleted once a pro-
gram is entered.
3. Program steps cannot be edited while the program is running.
4. All program steps are sequential and “Looping” is not allowed.
5. The operator MUST ALWAYS press the “Start” button to start the
next program step.
6. If the temperature control is On, the temperature will be main-
tained between steps.
7. The shaker will always stop at the completion of a step. 8

Program Step Details:
Steps are considered completed in one of the following three ways:
1. The timer counts down to zero.
2. The Preheat option is set to On and the set temperature is reached
and stable. The Preheat option has priority over the timer value
and on/off option. If the “Preheat” option is “On” the time infor-
mation and option in the step are ignored and is displayed as 00:00
while the program step is running.
3. The Preheat option is set to “Off” and the Timer option is set to
“Off” and the temperature setting was changed, is reached, and sta-
ble.
Selecting A Program:
1. If a program was previously selected, the previously selected pro-
gram will automatically be initiated when the system is taken out
of “Standby” mode. If the system was not running one of the pro-
grams, the system will return to Standard mode when the system is
taken out of “Standby”.
2. To select a program place the system in “Standby” and press and
hold both the “Select Down” and “Abort” buttons. While holding
both the “Select Down” and “Abort” buttons, press and release the
“Standby” button.
a. Using the “Select Up” or “Select Down” buttons scroll
through all of the available modes (“Std” and all five avail-
able programs).
Note: If a program is used (programmed) the Time display will indicate
this with “USEd”, the Time display will be blank for “Std” and any pro-
grams that have not been programmed.
3. Press “Start” to select a program. Only programs that display
“Used” can be selected. Once a program is selected, that program
is used at power-up.
Running a program:
1. Prior to running a program, the operator can scroll through all
available steps of the program using the “Program Up” or “Program
Down” buttons
2. The “Program” display will show the program number (1-5) followed
by the step (-01 to -48).
3. The “Time” display will show the set time for the displayed program
step
4. The “Temperature” display will toggle between the Actual
Temperature and the Set temperature. Note: When a program is run-
ning and waiting for the user to initiate the next step, the set tem-
perature of the last step is displayed. The next step temperature
(if different from the previous step) will not be used (or displayed)
for the Set Temperature until the program step has been initiated.
5. To run the selected program, from the displayed step, press the
“Start” button.
a. If the operator starts the program at a step where the tem-
perature is on, but is not a preheat step, the system will
show “hEAt” on the “Program” display until the system
reaches temperature and stabilizes. Once this process is
complete, the operator must then press the “Start” button
again to start the selected step.
6. To pause any program step press and release the “Pause” button. To
continue the program step press and release the “Pause” button.
When a program step is paused the:
a. Shaker will stop.
b. Time display will flash.
c. Temperature is maintained.
7. To stop (abort) any program step press and release the “Abort” but-
ton. The system will go into Standby mode.

Program Status ptions:
1. Shaker: This option determines if the Shaker is on or off.
2. Timer: This option determines if the Timer is on or off.
3. Temperature: This option determines if the Temperature is on or off.
4. Preheat: This option determines if the system is in preheat mode.
In preheat mode the system will not advance to the next
step until the set temperature is achieved. Preheat should
only be used at step 1 of a program requiring heat on or
when a previous step did not have the heat option set to
“On”
5. Ramp Rate: This option determines the temperature ramp rate for
temperature changes from higher-to-lower tempera-
tures. Available Cooling Ramp Rates are:
r1: No ramp (temperature will decrease as fast as possible)
r2: 3.5 Degrees C/minute
r3: 1.8 Degrees C/minute
r4: 0.9 Degrees C/minute
* Rates are estimated using a 20°C ambient. Actual rates are condi-
tions permitting.
* When using the timer option, care must be taken to allow enough
time for the unit to change temperature based on the ramp select-
ed. Timer option “On” will complete a step once the timer expires
and has priority over the new set temperature being achieved.
Th
e Cooling Ramp Rate option is for use when the programming steps
are changing from a higher temperature to a lower temperature.
6. Beep: This option determines if the Beeper is active at the comple-
tion of the step.
7. End: This option determines if the program execution will be
stopped at the completion of the step and display “End” on
the “Program” display. This option should only be set “On” for
the desired last step of the program and will not by itself
cause a program step to complete. See Program Step Details
section for explanation of what causes a step to complete.
Program Entry:
1. Place the system in standby.
2. Press and hold the “Select Down” and “Abort” buttons.
3. While holding the “Select Down” and “Abort” buttons, press and
release the “Standby” button. Use the “Select Up” or “Select
Down” button to scroll through all the available programs. New
programs can only be entered on those without “USEd” indicated in
the timer window.
4. Once the selected program is displayed in the “Program” display
(and the “Time” display is blank), press and release the “Program”
button. The first step of the program is displayed. rom this point
on the program steps will automatically be incremented.
a. When entering the first program step the defaults is as fol-
lows:
1. The default temperature is 0
2. The default time is 0
3. The default speed is 1400
4. The default status options are:
(1) Shaker = On
(2) Time = On
(3) Temperature = On
(4) Preheat = Off
(5) Ramp Rate = r1
(6) Beep = On
(7) End = Off
* Refer to the Status options section for a detailed description of each

b. The “Temperature” display will show the temperature (“Set
Point” indicator light will be illuminated). Use the
“Temperature Up” or “Temperature Down” buttons to adjust
the temperature.
c. The “Time” display will show the time. Use the “Program” or
“Abort” buttons to adjust the time.
d. To display the speed, press and release the program “Start”
button. The “Temperature” and “Time” displays will be
blank, the “Program” display will show the current speed and
the “Program” indicator light is illuminated. Use the “Select
Up” or “Select Down” buttons to adjust the speed.
1. To return to the temperature and time display, press
and release the “Pause” button.
2. To proceed to the next option (Shaker on/off), press
and release the “Start” button.
e. If the Shaker on/off option was selected in the previous
step, the “Temperature” and “Time” displays will be blank
and the “Program” display will show the current option
selection (On or O ). Use the “Select Up” or “Select Down”
buttons to toggle the option selection.
1. To return to the temperature and time display, press
and release the “Pause” button.
2. To proceed to the next option (Timer on/off), press
and release the “Start” button.
f. If the Timer on/off option was selected in the previous step,
the “Temperature” and “Program” displays will be blank and
the “Time” display will show the current option selection (On
or O ). Use the “Program” or “Abort” buttons to toggle the
option selection.
1. To return to the temperature and time display, press
and release the “Pause” button.
2. To proceed to the next option (Temperature control
on/off), press and release the “Start” button.
g. If the Temperature control on/off option was selected in the
previous step, the “Program” and “Time” displays will be
blank and the “Temperature” display will show the current
option selection (On or O ). Use the “Temperature Up” or
“Temperature Down” buttons to toggle the option selection.
1.To return to the temperature and time display, press
and release the “Pause” button.
2. To proceed to the next option (Preheat on/off), press
and release the “Start” button.
h. If the Preheat on/off option was selected in the previous
step, the “Temperature” display will be blank, the “Program”
display will show “PHet” and the current option selection
(On or O ) will be displayed in the “Time” display. Use the
“Program” or “Abort” buttons to toggle the option selection.
1. To return to the temperature and time display, press
and release the “Pause” button.
2. To proceed to the next option (Ramp Rate selection),
press and release the “Start” button.
i. If the Ramp Rate selection option was selected in the previ-
ous step, the “Temperature” display will display the current
Ramp Rate, the “Program” and “Time” displays will be blank.
Use the “Temperature Up” or “Temperature Down” buttons to
scroll through all available ramp rates.
1. To return to the temperature and time display, press
and release the “Pause” button.
2. To proceed to the next option (Beep on/off option),
press and release the “Start” button.
j. If the Beep on/off option was selected in the previous step,
the “Temperature” display will be blank, the “Program” dis-

play will show “bEEP” and the current option selection (On
or O ) will be displayed in the “Time” display. Use the
“Program” or “Abort” buttons to toggle the option selection.
1. This option determines if the system will beep at the
end of the step.
2. To return to the temperature and time display, press
and release the “Pause” button.
3. To proceed to the next option (End on/off), press and
release the “Start” button.
k. If the End on/off option was selected in the previous step,
the “Temperature” display will be blank, the “Program” dis-
play will show “ End” and the current option selection (On
or O ) will be displayed in the “Time” display. Use the
“Program” or “Abort” buttons to toggle the option selection.
1. If the end option is selected (On) the system will
return to the program selection when the “Program
Up” or the “Standby” button is pressed.
2. To return to the temperature and time display, press
and release the “Pause” button or the “Start” button.
l. Press the “Select up” or “Select down” to enter the next step.
5. When program entry is complete press the “Standby” button to
return to the program selection menu.
Note:
a. If a program does not have the End on/off option set to
“On” at the last step, the program’s last step is repeated at
each subsequent press of the “Start” button. Since the pro-
gram is infinite, the system will display an E6 error when
power is cycled if the program is not terminated with the
“Abort” button. The end option can be set to “On” for the
last step of the program, by editing the last step.
b. If the system determines that the operator has used all of
the available memory, an alarm will sound (seven beeps) and
the “End” option will be automatically be forced to On. The
program entry mode will terminate and the program selec-
tion mode is initiated.
Program Editing:
1. Place the system in standby.
2. Press and hold the “Select Down” and “Abort” buttons.
3. While holding the “Select Down” and “Abort”, press and release the
“Standby” button.
4. Use the “Select Up” or “Select Down” button to scroll through all
the available programs.
5. Once the selected program is displayed in the “Program” display
(and “USEd” is displayed in the “Time” display), press and release
the “Program” button. The first step of the program is displayed.
Note: Program (Pr) 1 cannot be edited; each step (along with
all of the options) can only be viewed.
6. Press the program up or down buttons to select the desired step to
be edited and follow the same procedures from program entry to
revise the settings.
7. Press the “Standby” button at any time to return to the program
selection menu.
8. Press “Start” button to begin program operation.

Predefined Program Mode
1. ollow the instructions for Mode Selection and select Pr1 for the
Predefined Program.
2. Press “Start” to initiate the program. The “Program” display will
show the program and step (1-01). The LED indicator next to
“Start” will flash. Press “Start” to begin the first step of program 1.
3. When each of the predefined steps is complete, the unit will beep
four times and the indicator next to the “Start” will flash to indi-
cate the next step is ready to be initiated (unless the beeper is
disabled).
4. Press “Start” to initiate each step after the previous step is com-
pleted.
Below is the list of each of the 12 steps in the predefined program:
Note: The shaking speed when indicated is 1400rpm.
Step 1: Pre-Heat cycle 68°C
Step 2: 10 minutes 68°C, shake
Step 3: 10 minutes 68°C, shake
Step 4: 1 minute 68°C, shake
Step 5: 5 minutes 68°C, shake
Step 6: 1 minute 68°C, shake
Step 7: 68°C ramp to 45°C - Ramp rate setting of 3.5°/min
Step 8: 1 minute 45°C, shake
Step 9: 1 minute 45°C, shake
Step 10: 1 minute 45°C, shake
Step 11: 15 minutes 45°C, shake
Step 12: 2 minutes 45°C, shake
END, no heat

To delete a program:
1. Place the system in standby.
2. Press and hold the “Select Down” and “Abort” buttons.
3. While holding the “Select Down” and “Abort”, press and release the
“Standby” button.
4. Use the “Select Up” or “Select Down” button to scroll through all
the available programs.
5. Once the desired program is selected, press and hold the “Abort”
button for approximately three seconds. The system will beep six
times to indicate that the program has been erased. Once the sys-
tem starts beeping, release the “Abort” button. “Used” will no
longer be indicated in the timer display.
Note: program 1 cannot be deleted.

E01 Temperature measurement input error (RTD) The E01 should NOT be addressed by the end user. Switch the unit off and contact
your VWR representative for repairs.
E02 RTD Shorted or temperature below 0°C The E02 should NOT be addressed by the end user. Switch the unit off and contact
your VWR representative for repairs.

Make sure unit is on a stable work bench and check for any obstructions If the E03
error persists, along with grinding, knocking or rubbing noises, the reason may be
one of the other three (3) causes and should NOT be addressed by the end user.
Switch the unit off and contact your VWR representative for repairs.
E04 unit overloaded
unit “walking”*
The E04 error can be addressed by the user. Press the standby button to clear this
error: Be sure the load is within the maximum load specification before restarting
the unit. Secure foot to the lab bench. If the E04 code persists, switch the unit
off and contact your VWR representative for repairs
E05 Maximum temperature exceeded
Check to determine is a single point calibration offset was used. Make sure the
value on the block has not exceeded 95 to 100°C. If this problem still persists,
contact your VWR representative for repairs.
E06 Power loss (Program Mode) Program was interrupted by loss of power. Error is reset by unplugging unit and
reapplying power
During operation, any rattling or ticking sounds may indicate a loose screw on the tray

*In the event the unit is “walking” on the bench top, the unit will register an errant E03 or E04 message due to the instability of the unit. Press the
standby button to clear this error, then firmly press down on the four (4) corners of the unit, creating a stable work surface (DO NOT place on bench
mat). Press the standby button to resume operations.
