Avoiding Electrical Shock

Intended use
The VWR® TubeRoller 5 and TubeRoller 10 are intended for gentle, thorough mixing of a wide range of sample containers,
through a rolling motion alongside a gentle vertical rocking motion. Sample vessels are intended to lay flat on the rollers to be
mixed. Intended users of the VWR® TubeRoller 5 and TubeRoller 10 are clinical labs, doctor’s offices, and researchers needing
non-vigorous sample mixing.
For research use only. Not intended for any animal or human therapeutic or diagnostic use.

Overview
The VWR® Tube Rollers are designed for gentle yet complete mixing of a wide range of sample vessels, including Vacutainers™,
media bottles, blood tubes, centrifuge tubes, and roller bottles. With both models, speed is controlled digitally, and is variable
between 2 and 80 rpm.
In addition to the rolling motion, the VWR® Tube Rollers also feature a gentle 0.5 in (13mm) elevation function on the right-side
end of each roller. The tilting feature provides a heightened level of mixing homogeneity and uniformity without placing
unnecessary stress on samples.
VWR® Tube Rollers additionally feature an integrated timer, which is controlled digitally. The timer can be set from 1 minute to
100 hours, with an additional continuous operation mode. The VWR® Tube Rollers are the right choice for research laboratories,
clinical laboratories, and physician’s offices in need of a tube mixing solution.

Key Functions
START|STOP Key: Used to start instrument run, or to stop instrument run during use.
CONT|TIME Key: Used to switch between continuous run mode and timed run mode.
TIME Key: In timed run mode, used to enter timer adjustment mode.
Down arrow key: Used during adjustment modes to reduce timer and speed.
Up arrow key: Used during adjustment modes to increase timer and speed.
SPEED Key: Used to enter speed adjustment mode.

Getting Started
Installing the VWR® TubeRoller 5 and TubeRoller 10
Place the roller on a clean, flat, stable surface. Prior to connecting the unit to power, ensure the power switch located on the
rear of the unit is in the OFF position. Plug the roller into a properly grounded outlet at the correct voltage. Always ensure that
there are no obstructions blocking the vertical rocking motion of the rolling platform.
Operation
Load the roller platform prior to powering the unit on. Ensure to load the unit from the center out, creating a balanced load
about the center line of the platform. Once the unit is loaded to satisfaction with a balanced load, power the unit on by pressing
the power switch to the ON position.
Enter time adjustment mode by pressing the “TIME” key. The timer display will begin flashing. Use the up arrow and down arrow
keys to adjust run time. Once finished, press the “TIME” key again to store the time value. Enter speed adjustment mode by
pressing “SPEED”. The speed display will begin flashing. Use the up arrow and down arrow keys to adjust speed. Once finished,
press the “SPEED” key again to store the speed setting. To switch to continuous operation, press the “CONT.|TIME” button. The
display should read “cont”. To switch back to timed run mode, press “CONT.|TIME” again. To start operation, press
“START|STOP”. The unit will run until time elapses, or continuously. Press “START|STOP” again to stop the run at any time.

Repair and maintenance of VWR® TubeRoller 5 and TubeRoller 10
Routine maintenance of this unit only involves keeping the unit clean. No other routine maintenance or repair is
required. Cleaning can be done with a damp cloth. Avoid the use of solvents to avoid the risk of damage to the
housing or rollers.

Warranty
VWR warrants that this product will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from date
of delivery. If a defect is present, VWR will, at its option and cost, repair, replace, or refund the purchase price of this product to
the customer, provided it is returned during the warranty period. This warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged
by accident, abuse, misuse, or misapplication, or from ordinary wear and tear. If the required maintenance and inspection
services are not performed according to the manuals and any local regulations, such warranty turns invalid, except to the extent,
the defect of the product is not due to such non-performance.
Items being returned must be insured by the customer against possible damage or loss. This warranty shall be limited to the
aforementioned remedies. IT IS EXPRESSLY AGREED THAT THIS WARRANTY WILL BE IN LIEU OF ALL WARRANTIES OF FITNESS
AND IN LIEU OF THE WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY.
Compliance with local laws and regulations
The customer is responsible for applying for and obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals or other authorisations necessary
to run or use the Product in its local environment. VWR will not be held liable for any related omission or for not obtaining the
required approval or authorisation, unless any refusal is due to a defect of the product.
Equipment disposal
This equipment is marked with the crossed out wheeled bin symbol to indicate that this equipment must not be disposed of
with unsorted waste.
Instead it's your responsibility to correctly dispose of your equipment at lifecycle -end by handling it over to an
authorized facility for separate collection and recycling. It's also your responsibility to decontaminate the
equipment in case of biological, chemical and/or radiological contamination, so as to protect from health
hazards the persons involved in the disposal and recycling of the equipment.
For more information about where you can drop off your waste of equipment, please contact your local dealer from whom you
originally purchased this equipment.
By doing so, you will help to conserve natural and environmental resources and you will ensure that your equipment is recycled
in a manner that protects human health.
