Assembly and removal
Do not assemble / remove
during operation!
➊Fit th straight/contra-angl onto th motor until it
snaps into plac .
➋Ch ck th conn ction to th motor is s cur .

th motor by pulling in an axial dir ction.

Changing disposable heads or cups and brushes
> Us th straight/contra-angl handpi c s in clockwis dir ction only. In an anti-clockwis dir ction th

Clamping chuck system
Th HP-44 handpi c is provid d with an automatic clamping chuck syst m.
> Us only disposabl h ads with plastic shafts. H ads with m tal shafts will damag th clamping chuck
syst m.

Only use once!

with th nos of th handpi c .

Test run

If you obs rv probl ms ( .g. vibrations, unusual nois , ov rh ating), stop the straight/contra-angle handpiece
immediately and contact an authoriz d W&H s rvic partn r (s pag 30).

Manual cleaning (internal and external)

aid of a brush (brush is not r comm nd d in U.K.)
➋Th n r mov any liquid r sidu s (absorb nt cloth,
blow dry with compr ss d air).
Do not plac th handpi c /contra-angl in
liquid disinf ctant or in an ultrasonic bath!

Manual disinfection
> Disinf ct using disinf ctants, ➊application of
disinf ctant by wiping is r comm nd d.
> Us only disinf ctants which do not contain
chlorin and which ar c rtifi d by officially
r cogniz d institut s. For USA: Us EPA r gist r d
disinf ctants.
> Obs rv th manufactur r's r comm ndations
r garding th us of disinf ctants.
Aft r manual cl aning, disinf ction and
lubrication you must carry out a final th rmal
disinf ction (unwrapp d) or st rilization
(wrapp d) in th class B or S st am st riliz r
(according to EN 13060).
