Circulaire®II
Hybrid
Aerosol Drug Delivery System
Disinfect the Entire Circulaire®II Hybrid System After Each Treatment Day:
The Circulaire®II Hybrid Aerosol Drug Delivery System must be disassembled and
disinfected periodically in order to operate correctly. Westmed recommends full
disassembly and disinfection of all component parts of the entire system at the end
of each treatment day.
1. Wash and dry your hands.
2. Disassemble the entire Circulaire®II Hybrid System.
3. Wash all parts (except the filter) in liquid dishwashing soap and rinse with sterile water.
4. Soak all parts in a solution of 1 part household bleach and 50 parts water
for 3 minutes.
5. Place all parts on a clean surface (fresh paper towel) to air-dry. Place the Elastomeric
Reservoir on its flange to facilitate drainage.
6. After the parts are dry, reassemble the Circulaire®II Hybrid System.
Please discuss the various methods of aerosol administration and proper cleaning
techniques with your medical provider or respiratory home care company.
CAUTION:
Do Not Use Vinegar. Do not boil or microwave, as high temperatures may
melt some of the plastic parts. Only the VixOne™ Nebulizer is top shelf
dishwasher safe.

1. Wash and dry your hands.
2. Set Variable Expiratory Resistor
to the full open position.
3. Fill the Nebulizer with prescribed
medication. Use a Mouthpiece. If a
mask is needed, your medical provider
or respiratory home care company will
supply a special mask for use with the
Circulaire®II Hybrid System.
4. Connect one end of the Oxygen Supply
Tubing to the Nebulizer and the other
end to the oxygen outlet valve located
either on the wall (hospital) or on the
Nebulizer Compressor (home).
5. Set the flow meter for the outlet valve
on the wall to 8 L/minute. Note:
Nebulizer Compressors usually do
not have flow meters. If you are using
a Nebulizer Compressor, turn it on.
6. As soon as the gas flow starts, place
the Mouthpiece into your mouth and
breathe in and out normally.
7. Adjust the opening on the Variable
Expiratory Resistor to a setting that
feels comfortable to you. If the
Elastomeric Reservoir fully collapses
during inhalation, you are receiving
maximum medication administration.
A small valve will open automatically to
give you room air for the remainder of
your inspired breath.
8. The treatment should take approximately
5-7 minutes for 3 mL of medication,
depending on the gas source.
1. Wash and dry your hands.
2. Detach the Nebulizer from the Manifold.
3. Twist the purple cap counterclockwise
until it releases and detaches from the
Medication Bowl. Do not touch-
contaminate the inside of the Nebulizer.
4. Set the cap and bowl upright on a clean
surface and add medication.
5. Reattach the cap to the bowl by twisting
clockwise until the cap firmly engages.
6. Reattach the Nebulizer assembly to the
Manifold ensuring a snug fit.
Filling the Nebulizer:
1. Wash and dry your hands.
2. Detach the Nebulizer from the Manifold.
3. Twist the purple cap counterclockwise until it
releases and detaches from the Medication
Bowl, and discard any remaining liquid.
4. Rinse the parts with sterile water. Gently
shake the parts to purge any excess water.
Set the cap and the Medication Bowl upside
down on a clean surface (fresh paper towel)
to air-dry.
5. After the parts are dry, reassemble and
reconnect to the Manifold.
