The WIDOS MAXIPLAST
MAXIPLASTMAXIPLAST
MAXIPLAST is made for heatin element butt weldin of pipes and fittin s out of PE, PP
and PVDF with a diameter ran e of Ø = 50 - 160.
The machine is kept small so that it can easily be used in the pipe system.
The clampin of the pipes is mana ed by steel clampin tools.
All use of this machine oin beyond is not purpose oriented.

The machine is only to be used in a technically perfect condition, as well as purpose oriented, safety-
and dan er-conscious in compliance with the workin instructions and the relevant safety re ulations
(especially the re ulations for the prevention of accidents).
The described plastic weldin machine may only be operated, maintained and repaired by persons
who are trained and informed about the dan ers.
The manufacturer is not responsible for any dama es caused by inexpert handlin or operation.For
personal injuries, material and immaterial dama es resultin herefrom, only the user is responsible!
Also part of the purpose oriented use is

The plastic pipes are clamped by means of the clampin tools.
Then the front of the pipes are planed. As soon as the pipes are parallel and the pipe deviation is
smaller than 0,1x pipe thickness, the weldin can be in.
Now the clampin tool with the pipes must be moved forward a ainst the heatin element until a
certain pressure is achieved. Now the pipes are heated up and a circular bead arises.

The instructions of this chapter are supposed to initiate in the operation of the machine and lead
durin the appropriate startin of the machine.
This includes:
•the safe operation of the machine

•The machine should only be operated by initiated and authorized people.
•For the qualification a plastic weldin exam can be taken accordin to DVS and DVGW.

•Protect the machine from wetness and moisture!
•For workin at the buildin site use a current distributor with a FI-security protective.
•Lay electric cables thorou hly (dan er of stumblin )!
•Take care of the surroundin conditions:
The weldin should not be performed under direct sun rays influence, use a weldin umbrella if
necessary.
•In case of surroundin temperature under 5° C measures should be taken :
Build up a weldin tent or heat up the pipe ends if necessary.
•Take measures a ainst rain, wind and dust.
•Connect the heatin element to the mains supply (230 V / 50 Hz).

•Put on safety loves to protect you from bein burned.
•A stop-watch should be available in order to be able to re ister the actual times for heatin up and
coolin down.
•A table should be available from which you can read the parameters that are prescribed by the
weldin re ulation for the pipe diemesion to be welded.
•The heatin elements are to be clean and, above all, free from rease. Therefore they are to be
cleaned with non-frayin paper and deter ent (e. . technically pure alcohol or pipe-cleansin
cloths which can be bou ht at the WIDOS company) before every weldin or if they are dirty.
The anti-adhesive coatin of the heatin element has to remain undama ed in the workin area.
•Switch on heatin element and set the required weldin temperature on the adjustment screw on
the handle.
•If the control li ht flashes, the nominal temperature has been reached and is held at a constant
level throu h a iven impulse-break relationship.
•Screw in reduction inserts accordin to the outer diameter of the pipes to be welded, if necessary
set the an le.

•Clamp the basic frame to the table holder, if required mount the table holder to the support surface
or insert machine without table holder directly into the pipe system.

•Put the workpieces into the clampin tool, fasten clampin nuts ti htly and ali n the workpieces
with respect to one another.
•Insert the planer between the workpieces, arrest them on the uide bar by turnin the star rip.
Switch on the planer and plane with little pressin force.
Planin should be carried out until a revolvin cuttin has been formed on both sides.
•Open slide a ain, switch off the planer, remove it and put it into the heat protective box. Remove the
produced cuttin s, thereby preventin contact with the worked surfaces.
•Close slide a ain.
•Check pipe mismatch and ap at the abuttin pipe ends.
Accordin to DVS 2207, the mismatch on the pipe outside should not exceed 0.1 x pipe wall
thickness, the admissible ap should not exceed 0.5 mm.
The mismatch compensation is effected throu h the stron er ti htenin or releasin of the
clampin nuts. In case mismatch compensation was effected, renewed planin has to be carried
out afterwards.
•Take the adjustment force for the pipe dimension to be welded from the table and add the motivity.
•Open slide a ain somewhat.
•Take the heatin -up time, the maximum chan e-over time, the coolin -down time and the bead
hei ht for the pipe dimension to be welded from the table.
•Brin the heatin element which has been cleaned and brou ht to its nominal
temperature between the pipes with the handle facin downwards (han into uide bar).
