Introduction
Introduction 93.22 offers some possibi ities, so in order to uti ize
your new oudspeaker in the best way; you shou d
carefu y read through this manua before using the
oudspeaker for the first time. It may take some
patience in order to make the oudspeaker sound
optima .
If you have no previous experience of these kinds of
insta ations, or if you have any questions, fee free
to contact our free of charge support and we wi

About 93.22
93.22 is a bookshe f speaker that can be used as
either a center/frontspeaker (on a stand for
examp e) or a sate ite speaker.

Technical presentation
Cabinet design The cabinet is constructed with a narrow baff e - not
on y an aesthetica y neat shape but a so an
advantage in terms of sonics since you have a more
stab e baff e which effective y muff es resonances in
the cabinet.
The cabinet is made in 25 mm MDF board, which
has good sonic qua ities.
The cabinet is further strengthened with bars,
which in tota yie ds a very stab e construction.
Tweeter driver We have chosen a si k-made soft dome tweeter
which provides superior transient response and a
very f at frequency response without resonances.
Woofer/midrange-driver After eva uating a arge number of drivers from
different manufacturers we se ected a driver which
is very competent.
For woofer/midrange we decided on a 6,5" so id
coated driver which gives a smooth extended
frequency response with a contro ed ro off.
The driver is made up of so id coated paper which
has good sound qua ities, high strength and ow
weight.
The surface treated cone is extreme y ight but sti
extreme y stiff and effective y reduces resonances.
The rubber surround makes sure that no edge
resonances are present.
The mou ded meta basket of "high f ow" type that
is acoustica y transparent and high precision
since the basket is shaped exact y due to mou ding.
This makes sure that the basket is very stab e and
efficient y reduces resonances. The basket is
abso ute y nonmagnetica y, which contributes to a
higher efficiency of the driver.
A strong magnet combined with the ight cone
yie dsa high efficiency and a good transient
response.

Crossover/Bindings We have chosen a -12 dB crossover that has a fast
transient response and a minimum of phase
shifting.
The connectors are go d-p ated and of bi-wiring
type so that you can connect to the amp ifier with
doub e cab es (bi-wiring), or connect to two
amp ifiers (bi-amping) for further improving the
sound. The fo owing coup ing
modes are avai ab e:
1. U er terminal + lower terminal (loo s
resent) Defau t setting, the oudspeaker is fed
with the entire frequency range.
Without the oop between upper and ower
termina :
2. U er terminal. The signa is on y fed to the
tweeter.
3. Lower terminal. Now the signa is fed to the
woofer on y.

Preparations
Un acking Carefu y unpack the speaker, and pay attention so
you don't accidenta y break anything. If possib e,
save the carton box for future transportations. If
there shou d be damage on the oudspeaker, p ease
contact your retai er.

Practice of sound / Installing and placing tips
This chapter contains common information on
oudspeaker p acement and insta ation.
In which room do you
achieve the best sound?
No matter how good the equipment is, in the wrong
istening environment it wi inevitab y sound bad.
There are some basic ru es concerning a proper
oudspeaker insta ation.
Reflections Carpets, curtains and soft furniture absorb
midrange and high frequency sound, and this is
preferab e. Big empty area, on the contrary, ref ects
it and produces a hard sound that may ead to a
b urry dia ogue. Apart from co ouring the sound,
a so the perspective of the sound wi deteriorate.
Am lification of bass
frequencies
A oudspeaker that is p aced near a wa , cei ing or
f oor wi be amp ified in the ower frequencies in a
sometimes not desirab e way (since it may ead to
an indistinct sound recreation). This amp ification
becomes even more obvious if the oudspeaker is
p aced near a corner. Thus, for a sound as c ear as
possib e, the oudspeaker shou d be p aced about
30 cm (about 12 inches) away from the wa .
However, there are exceptions from this ru e. For
some type of wa s / rooms it may be advantageous
to p ace the oudspeaker c oser to the wa .
Furniture Be aware that furniture may vibrate and thus
createbad sound at oud bass
Room dimensions Quadratic rooms or rooms where the ength is
exact y twice as ong as the width shou d be
avoided, since they may create unwanted
resonance.
Placing the louds eakers How the oudspeakers are p aced towards the
istener is of great importance
The front s eakers For stereo istening the oudspeakers shou d be
p aced symmetrica y in front of the istener. The
distance between the oudspeakers shou d be about
80% of the distance between the istener and one
oudspeaker, or put in another way: the ang e
between the oudspeakers, as seen from the istener,
shou d be about 45 degrees. This means for examp e
that if the distance between the oudspeakers is 2
meters, the istener shou d be p aced 2.5 meters
from the oudspeakers.

Angling? Either you can have the oudspeakers ang ed in
towards the istener or you can have them directed
straight ahead. Some oudspeakers sound better
when ang ed, but this may a so depend on
ref ections from the side wa s. By ang ing the
oudspeakers inwards, you decrease unwanted
ref ections and thus you get a better stereo
perspective.
The correct height If the oudspeakers are sma , they shou d be p aced
on stands or ti ted so that they are on the same
eve as the ears.
Cables Try to keep them as short as possib e. By its
e ectrica parameters, a ong conductor wi have a
bigger inf uence on the sound than a short one. The
subwoofer cab e shou d be shie ded, to avoid noise.
Make sure that a connections are c ean and not
oxidized. A connections shou d be mechanica y
stab e, both power, signa and oudspeaker cab es.
Signa cab es shou d be separated from other cab es.
Finally P ease remember that good sound is a matter of
taste, so you have to experiment to obtain it.

Mounting and connecting tips
Mounting alternatives Norma y the 93.22 is p aced standing by a wa .
The wa behind and the wa beside the oudspeaker
have inf uence on both the bass eve and the bass
characteristics, so p ease be patient and try
different distances to the rear and side wa s.
Connecting using the
correct hase
A ways connect using the correct phase, from the +-
po e on the amp ifier to the +-po e on the
oudspeaker and corresponding for minus (-).
If you by accident connect the other
way, there is no risk of damage.
However, the sound wi not be
correct, especia y in the
ower frequencies.
Overload At high oad during extensive time periods, there is
a ways the risk of over oading the driver and
amp ifier.
A oudspeakers have a imited
patience for high power, so be
carefu not to p ay extreme y oud
and not to increase treb e or bass
settings to much.
By increasing the bass or treb e from
0 to max you wi increase the power
by about 16 times.
The initial laying time It takes about 50 to 100 hour of initia p aying time,
for the driver to sound optima . During this time,
the speaker may be used norma y.
Placing 93.22 is constructed to p ay ying down or standing
up.
The rubber feet are not mounted and can be
mounted on either side.
The ogo is not mounted, p ace it after you have
mounted the feet.

Room Tuning –
Mechanical adjustment
of the boundary
frequency
By using the supp ied bass p ugs in the bass ref ex
ports, you can a ter the ower boundary frequency
on the 93.22.
A so the treb e eve may be adjusted, which a ows
you to perfect y a ter the sonic to fit the room,
equipment and your own taste.
Closed ort
With the bass p ug mounted in the bass ref ex port,
the cabinet is c osed and the oudspeaker operates
as a c osed construction. This yie ds a more ”tight”
bass reproduction.
Bass reflex
With no p ug present in the port you have a higher
bass eve and the oudspeaker is capab e of
hand ing ower frequencies.
These settings a so depend on the
size and shape of the room, and a so
on your own taste, so p ease have
patience when trying out your
preferred setting.
Level adjustment -
Treble
The treb e range can be adjusted to 2 different
settings.
Level adjustment in the
treble range
In the treb e range the eve is adjustab e to two
different modes using the switch on the back of the
speaker.
Mode 1, 0 dB
In this mode the sound is neutra with a f at
frequency response.
Mode 2, -3 dB
In this mode the treb e eve is decreased by -3 dB.
Binding ost / Bi-wiring 1. U er terminal + lower terminal (loo s
resent) Defau t setting, the oudspeaker is fed
with the entire frequency range. In this mode, it
doesn't matter which connectors you use when
connecting the speaker cab es.
Without the oop between upper and ower
termina :
2. U er terminal. The signa is on y fed to the
tweeter.
3. Lower terminal. Now the signa is fed to the
woofer on y.
PLEASE NOTE!! When the oops are
connected, ensure that a four
contacts are proper y fastened so
that the oops connectors are stuck
-if the oop fa s of, it
may short-circuit between the + and
- contact and thus damage the
amp ifier.

If you by yourse f are ab e to find out what part of
the oudspeaker is defective, you are fu y a owed to
unmount that part (which wou d norma y be a
driver, a fi ter or the amp ifier) and send it back to
us for exchange.
IMPORTANT!
A ways contact your dea er or us before taking the
oudspeaker apart. It can a so he p you finding the
fau t.
You can of course a ways choose to return the
who e oudspeaker; therefore you shou d save the
origina package.
To aid service, XTZ products are
constructed and produced using
common techno ogy, so that
basica y most peop e are ab e to
"unscrew" the oudspeaker using
common too s.
If something is broken If you cause additiona defects by yourse f when
unmount the defective part, the warranty sti
app ies if it is obvious that the part had a
manufacturing defect. In other cases however, the
warranty does not app y if you cause other defects
on the oudspeaker.
