Cabinet design
The pyramid shape is not on y an aesthetica y neat
shape, but
a so has some advantages in terms of
acoustics, since nonpara e
wa s muff es interna
resonances of the cabinet.
The cabinet is made in 25mm MDF board, which has
good sonic qua ities.
The cabinet is further strengthened with bars, which
in tota yie ds a very stab e construction.
Tweeter dri er
We have chosen a ribbon tweeter which provides
superior transient response and a very f at frequency
response The ribbon cone is super ight and on y 18
microns thin. It is a sandwich construction of rosin-
a uminium-rosin that has been hardened at 320
degrees Ce sius.
The magnet system is a 2 row high-efficient
neodymium magnets in a mou ded chassis of ceramic
carbon stee .
Fishbone shaped contactors in a uminium, yie ds a
ow connection resistance and good heat derivation.
The driver has a high power durabi ity and hand es
frequencies up to 40000 Hz which makes it DVD-
Audio and SACD-ready..
Woofer/midrange
dri er
After eva uating a arge number of drivers from
different manufacturers we se ected one from Seas,
a company that has a so id reputation in the area of
high qua ity speaker drivers. You find Seas drivers
in many we -known High End speakers.
For woofer/midrange we decided on a 6,5"
magnesium driver from the Seas Exce series that
have extreme performance. We c aim that finding a
better 6,5" driver on the market is a very difficu t
task.
The surface treated magnesium cone is extreme y
ight but sti extreme y stiff and effective y reduces
resonances.
The rubber surround makes sure that no edge
resonances are present.
The mou ded meta basket of "high f ow" type that
is acoustica y transparent and high precision since
the basket is shaped exact y due to mou ding. This
makes sure that the basket is very stab e and
efficient y reduces resonances. The basket is
abso ute y none magnetica y, which contributes to
a higher efficiency of the driver.
A strong magnet combined with the ight cone
yie ds a high efficiency and a good transient
response.
Heavy copper rings mounted above and be ow the
T-shaped po e piece reduces non inear and
modu ation distortion and increases the over oad
margin.
The copper p ating of the top and bottom p ates
a ong with a so id copper phase p ug improves the
heat conduction and thus contributes to the high

power durabi ity.
Go d p ated termina s reduce contact resistance
and serves as anti-corrosion.
Large windows in the basket both above and be ow
the spider reduces sou
nd ref ection, air f ow noise
and cavity resonances.
Crosso er /
Binding post
For the 99.26 P, we have chosen to have
an externa
cross over box. Having the cross over outside the
box has some benefits.
1. Less affection of microphonic in the cross
over.
2. Making the assemb y easier and
having the opportunity to drive the
speaker fu y active.
The components being used in the cross over, are
on y of high qua ity, to get as sma affection as
possib e on the signa
We have chosen a -12 dB crossover that has a fast
transient response and a minimum of phase
shifting.

Practice of sound / Installation and placement tips
This chapter contains common information on
oudspeaker p acement and insta ation.
This is genera ru es, so there are exceptions of
some ru es
In which room do
you achie e the best
sound?
No matter how good the equi
pment is, in the wrong
istening environment it wi inevitab y sound bad.
There are some basic ru es concerning a proper
oudspeaker insta ation:
Reflections
Carpets, curtains and soft furniture absorb mid
range and high frequency sound, and th
is is
preferab e. Big empty area, on the contrary, ref ects
it and produces hard ref ections that may ead to
b urry dia ogue. Apart from co ouring the sound,
a so the perspective of the sound wi deteriorate.
Ref ections in the room can rough y be compar
ed to
the ref ections that yie d ghost pictures on a TV
screen.
Amplification of bass
frequencies
A oudspeaker that is p aced near a wa , cei ing or
f oor wi amp ify ower frequencies in a sometimes
not desirab e way (since it may ead to an i
ndistinct
sound recreation). This amp ification becomes even
more obvious if the oudspeaker is p aced near a
corner. Thus, for a sound as c ear as possib e, the
oudspeaker shou d be p aced at east 30 cm (about
12 inch) away from the wa
Some constructi
ons are made to be p aced c osed to
a wa .
Furniture
Be aware that furniture may vibrate and thus create
bad sound at oud bass.
Room dimension
Quadratic rooms or rooms where the ength is
exact y twice as ong as the width shou d be
av
oided, since they may create unwanted
resonance.
Placement of the
subwoofer
The p acement of the subwoofer in the room
dramatica y affects the overa frequency response
and sound eve of the system. At ow frequencies
the effect of the room is
strong. Even a s ight
change in the subwoofer's ocation can make a
significant difference in the frequency ba ance.
Patience and methodica experimentation is needed
to find an optima p acement. The p acement
affects the phase difference between the mai
n
oudspeakers and the subwoofer.
One basic ru e is to p ace the subwoofer together
with or near the front system (especia y important
if the front oudspeaker a so propagate bass
frequencies) as this wi minimize the risk of phase
e iminations in the room.

Page: 7
Cables
Try to keep them as short as possib e. By its
e ectrica parameters, a ong conductor wi have a
bigger inf uence on the sound than a short one. It
may a so work as an antenna and thus receive
various signa s that may become a consta
nt noise in
an active subwoofer.
Make sure that a connections are c ean and not
oxidized. A connections shou d be mechanica y
stab e, both power, signa and oudspeaker cab es.
Signa cab es shou d be separated from other
cab es.
Front speakers
To get the best resu t the front speakers shou d be
p aced symmetrica in front of the istener. The
distance between the front speakers shou d be
around 80% of the distance to the istener. In other
words, the recommended ang e between the front
speakers shou d be 45°.
Why use 2
Subwoofer
There are more then one
benefits of having 2
subwoofers instead of one.
The sound pressure eve wi be higher.
Less dips and standing waves in the room and a
better frequency response in the room (and on
sweet spot)
The need of power is ess, to reach the same SPL as
with one subwoofer
Finally
P ease remember that good sound is a matter of
taste, so you have to experiment to obtain your
favourite one.
We wish you best of uck!

Mounting and Connecting tips
Mounting
alternati es
Norma y the XTZ 99.26 P
is p aced standing by a
wa . The wa behind and the wa beside the
oudspeaker have inf uence on both the bass eve
and the bass characteristics, so p ease be patient
and try different
distances to the rear and side
wa s.
Connect using the
correct phase
A ways connect using the correct phase, from the
+-po e on the amp ifier to the +-
po e on the
oudspeaker and corresponding for minus (-).
If you by accident connect the other
way,
there is no risk of damage. However, the
sound wi not be correct, especia y in the
ower frequencies.
O erload
At high oad during extensive time periods, there is
a ways the risk of over oading the driver and
amp ifier.
A oudspeakers hav
e a imited patience
for high power, so be carefu not to p ay
extreme y oud and not to increase tre
b e
or bass settings to much.
By increasing the bass or treb e from 0 to
max you wi increase the power by about
16 times.
The initial playing
time
I
t takes about 50 to 100 hour of initia p aying time,
for the driver to sound optima . During this time
,
the speaker may be used as norma y.
Connecting Cross
o er
Connect cab es from the output of the cross over
box to the connections on the speaker.
It is important that this is done in a correct way.
If this is done wrong, the drivers can be destroyed.
The tweeter output on the cross over box shou d be
connected to the tweeter on the speaker.
The woofer output from the cross over box shou d
be connected to the woofer on the speaker.
Note!
A dri
er that has been destroyed
due to an
incorrect connection of
the cross o er
is not co ered by
warranty!
Be careful when you connect the
cross o er.
Check what is input and output on
the cross o er, before connecting.

Room Tuning -
Mechanical
adjustment of the
boundary frequency
By using the supp ied bass p ugs in the bass ref ex
gates, you can a ter the ower boundary frequency
on the XTZ 99.26 P
A so the treb e eve may be adjusted, which a ows
you to perfect y a ter the sonic to fit the room,
equipment and your own taste.
Closed gate
With the bass p ug mounted in the bass ref ex gate,
the cabinet is c osed and the oudspeaker operates
as a c osed construction which yie ds a more "tight"
bass reproduction.
Bass reflex
With no
p ug present in the gate you have a higher
bass eve and the oudspeaker is capab e of
hand ing ower frequencies.
This setting a so depends on the size and
shape of the room, and a so on your own
taste, so p ease has patience when trying
out your preferred setting.
Le el adjustment in
the treble range
In the treb
e range the eve is adjustab e in four
different modes using the supp ied oop connector.
Leve adjustment in the treb e range:
Mode 1/ - 0dB
In this mode the sound is neutra with a
f at frequency response.
Mode 2/ 3dB
In this mode the treb e eve is increase by 4dB.
Mode 3/ -2dB
In this mode the treb e eve is decreased by 2dB.
Mode 4/ -4dB
In this mode the treb e eve is decreased by 4dB.
Terminal /Biwiring
Connect cab es from the output of the cross over
box to the connections on the speaker.
It is important that this is done in a correct
way. If this is done wrong, the dri ers can
be destroyed.
The tweeter output on the cross over box shou d be
connected to the tweeter on the speaker.
The woofer output from the cross over box shou d
be connected to the woofer on the speaker.
Note!
A dri er that has been destroyed
due to an
incorrect connection of
the cross o er is not co ered by
warranty!
Be careful when you connect the
cross o er.
