nThe product CPU iC9210-PN is a CPU with a PROFINET controller and belongs to the iC9200 Series for programming in
IEC 61131-3 language.
Associated documentation
nBefore using the device, be sure to read the hardware manual HB700_CPU_ PMC9210P0 for CPU iC9210-PN, valid for
the hardware respectively firmware version specified on the device. Please also consider the other documents mentioned.
nEnsure that you always use the most recent documentation. You can find these in the service area of

–Personal and property protection are only guaranteed if the device is used in accordance with its intended use.
– Observe the safety regulations of electrical engineering and the employer's liability insurance association!
– Only perform work on the device when the power is switched off!
– The device may only be installed by qualified personnel in accordance with the specifications in the corresponding
documentation.
– Electrical work may only be performed by qualified electricians.
– The device may only be commissioned by a person responsible for the safety of the system. Only this person may
connect the supply voltage.
– Observe the necessary precautions when handling electrostatically sensitive components (EN 61340-5-1, IEC
61340-5-1)!
– Repairs to the device, particularly the opening of the housing, must only be performed by the manufacturer.
– Keep the operating instructions!
– The operator of the device or plant is subject to the legal obligations regarding safety at work. The Machinery
Directive must therefore be taken into account.

The CPU iC9210-PN is designed and produced for:

nthe installation in a control cabinet with degree of protection IP54 or better.
noperation within the environmental conditions specified in the technical data.
Electrical safety - loss of safety function when using unsuitable power supplies
nOnly devices with safe insulation from the 230 V mains may be connected to the device. The power supply for generating
the 24 V power must correspond to the requirements for PELV/SELV according to EN 50178.
nProtection against direct and indirect contact must be guaranteed for all components connected to PROFINET. In the
event of a fault, parasitic voltages must not occur (single fault security).

nThis device uses open source software.

PROFINET installation guideline
nWhen working on PROFINET and its components, the PROFINET installation guideline must always be available and
must be strictly observed. This document can be found on the PI Organization web site (Profibus & Profinet International).

Mounting, dismounting, replacement
WARNING!
Unintentional machine start-up
– Do not mount or dismount when the power is on!
–Disconnect the device from the power supply before mounting or dismounting and secure the power supply against
being switched on again!
– Do not switch on the power supply until the system has been completely mounted. Pay attention to the diagnostic
indicators and any diagnostic messages.
– The machine/plant may only be started when no hazard can result from the machine/plant.
Safety instructions for starting applications
When configuring the start conditions for your plant, take into account:
– The machine or plant may only be started when it has been ensured that no one is in the danger zone.
– Comply with the requirements of EN ISO 13849-1 with regard to the manual reset function. In this way, no machine
movement may be initiated and or dangerous situations may be caused, caused by e.g.:
– Switching on devices
– Acknowledgement of device error messages
– Acknowledgement of block error messages in the application
– Removal of start-up barriers
Please also consider these instructions in order to exclude an unexpected machine start after acknowledgement with an
"Operator Acknowledgement"!
Mounting (

nMount the device in a closed control cabinet or control box with degree of protection IP54 or higher on a 35 mm standard
mounting rail.
nUse a mounting rail according to EN 60715.
nThere are locking lever at the top side of the CPU. For mounting these locking lever are to be turned upwards until these
engage.
nPlace the CPU at the mounting rail. The CPU is fixed to the mounting rail by pushing downward the locking levers.
Connecting the power supply (

nThe CPU has an integrated power supply. The power supply is to be provided with DC 24 V, max. 1.5 A.
nConnect the plus pole (+) of your external DC 24 V power supply to pin 1 or pin 2.
nConnect the minus pole (0V) of your external DC 24 V power supply to pin 3 or pin 4. As soon as the CPU is power
supplied, the associated LED lights up.
nThe bridged contacts in the power plug can be used to continue the wiring of the power supply.
Ethernet/PROFINET interface (

nConnect the PROFINET system to the RJ45 socket X1 or X2.
Operating mode switch (

nWith the operating mode switch, you can select between the operating modes STOP and RUN on the CPU.
nWith the button position MR (Memory Reset) you can request a reset of the CPU in different levels.
DIP switch (

nThe DIP switch is for further extensions. Please do not change the switch state.

Demounting and module exchange (

The new device must meet the following conditions:
nSame device type.
nSame or newer firmware version.
Newer firmware
If the firmware version of the CPU is newer than the firmware version of the CPU to be replaced, you might have to
recompile your user program in iCube Engineer. If this is required, you will be informed with the corresponding firmware
version.
1. Switch off the power supply of the system where the CPU is located.
2. Remove the possibly inserted Yaskawa SD card from the CPU to be replaced.
3. Remove the connector of the power supply of the CPU. By pressing the release button as shown in

, the connector is
released and can be removed.
4. Turn all the locking lever of the CPU upwards.
5. Pull the CPU forward.
6. Turn the locking lever of the CPU to be mounted upwards, place the CPU at the mounting rail and turn the lever down-
ward.
7. Insert the Yaskawa SD card - if available.
8. Reconnect the connector of the power supply.
ðNow you can bring your system back into operation.

Elektrická bezpečnost – ztráta bezpečnostní funkce při použití nevhodných zdrojů napájení
nK zařízení lze připojovat pouze zařízení s bezpečnou izolací ze sítě 230 V. Zdroj napájení pro generování výkonu 24 V
musí odpovídat požadavkům pro PELV/SELV v souladu s EN 50178.
nOchrana proti přímému a nepřímému kontaktu musí být garantována pro všechny komponenty připojené k PROFINET. V
případě poruchy nesmí dojít k parazitnímu napětí (zabezpečení jedné chyby).
