This manual classifies the precauti ns int WARNING and CAUTION.

Be sure t use a dedicated p wer circuit. Never use a p wer supply shared by an ther appliance.
F r wiring, use a cable l ng en ugh t c ver the entire distance with n c nnecti n.
D n t use an extensi n c rd. D n t put ther l ads n the p wer supply, use a dedicated p wer circuit.

Use the specified types f wires f r electrical c nnecti ns between the ind r and utd r units.
Firmly clamp the interc nnecti ng wires s their terminals terminals receive n external stresses. Inc mplete c nnecti ns r clamping may cause terminal verheating r fire.
After c nnecti ng interc nnecting and supply wiring be sure t shape the cables s that they d n t put undue f rce n the electrical
c vers r panels.
Install c vers ver the wires. Inc mplete c ver installati n may cause terminal verheating, electrical sh ck, r fire.
If any refrigerant has leaked ut during the installati n w rk, ventilate the r m.
(The refrigerant pr duces a t xic gas if exp sed t flames.)
After all installati n is c mplete, check t make sure that n refrigerant is leaking ut.

When installing r rel cating the system, be sure t keep the refrigerant circuit free fr m substancs ther than the specified
refrigerant(R410A), such as air.
(Any presence f air r ther f reign substance in the refrigerant circuit causes an abn rmal pressure rise r rupture, resulting in injury.)
During pump-d wn, st p the c mpress r bef re rem ving the refrigerant piping.
If the c mpress r is still running and the st p valve is pen during pump-d wn, air will be sucked in when the rc mpress r is run, causing abn rmal pressure in the freezer
cycle which will lead t breakage and even injury.
Be sure t establish an earth. D n t earth the unit t a utility pipe, arrester, r teleph ne earth.
In c mplete earth may cause electrical sh ck, r fire. A high surge current fr m lightning r ther s urces may cause damage t the air c nditi ner.
Be sure t install an earth leakage breaker.
Failure t install an earth leakage breaker may result in electric sh cks, r fire.
D n t install the aire c nditi ner in a place where there is danger f exp sure t inflammable gas leakage.
If the gas leaks and builds up ar und the unit, it may catch fire.
Establish drain piping acc rding t the instructi ns f this manual.
Inadequate piping may cause fl ding.
Tighten the flare nut acc rding t the specified meth d such as with a t rque wrench.
If the flare nut is tightened t hard, the falre nut may crack after a l ng time and cause refrigerant leakage.
Make sure t pr vide f r adequate measures in rder t prevent that the utd r unit be used as a shelter by small animals.
Small animals making c ntact with electrical parts can cause malfuncti ns, sm ke r fire. Please instruct the cust mer t keep the area ar und the unit clean.

Access ries supplied with the utd r unit:
1) Ch se a place s lid en ugh t bear the weight and vibrati n f the unit, where the perati n n ise will n t be amplified.
2) Ch se a l cati n where the h t aire discharged fr m the unit r the perati n n ise, will n t cause a nuisance t the neighb rs f the
user.
3) Av id places near a bedr m and the like, s that the perati n n ise will cause n tr uble.
4) There must be sufficient space f r carrying the unit int and ut f the site.
5) There must be sufficient space f r air passage and n bstructi ns ar und the air inlet and the air utlet.
6) The site must be free fr m the p ssibility f flammable gas leakage in a nearby place.
L cate the unit s that the n ise and the discharged h t air will n t ann y the neighb rs.
7) Install units, p wer c rds and inter-unit cables at least 3 meter away fr m televisi n and radi sets. This is t prevent interference t
images and s unds. (N ises may be heard even if they are m re than 3 meter away depending n radi wave c nditi ns.)
8) In c astal areas r ther places with salty atm sphere f sulfate gas, c rr si n may sh rten the life f the air c nditi ner.
9)Since drain fl ws ut f the utd r unit, d n t place under the unit anything which must be kept away fr m m isture.

When perati ng the air c nditi ner in a l w utd r ambient
temperature, be sure t f ll w the instructi ns described bel w.
1) T prevent exp sure t wind, install the utd r unit with its sucti n
side facing the wall.
2) Never install the utd r unit at a site where the sucti n side may be
exp sed directly t wind.
3)T prevent exp sure t wind, it is rec mmended t install a baffle plate
n the air discharge side f the utd r unit.
4) In heavy sn wfall areas, select an installati n site where the sn w
will n t affect the unit.

Precautions on Installation
Check the strength and level f the installati n gr und s that the unit will n t cause any perating vibrati n r n ise after installed.
In acc rdance with the f undati n drawing in fix the unit securely by means f the f undati n b lts.(Prepare f ur sets f M8 r M10
f undati n b lts, nuts and washers each which are available n the market.)
It is best t screw in the f undati n b lts until their length are 20mm fr m the f undati n surface.
Outdoor Unit Installation Guideline
Where a wall r ther bstacle is in the path f utd r unit's intake r exhaust airfl w, f ll w the installati n guidelines bel w.
F r any f the bel w installati n pattems, the wall height n the exhaust side sh uld be 1200mm r less.

The maxinum all wable length f refrigerant piping, and the maxmum all wable height difference between the utd r and ind r units,
are listed bel w. (The sh rter the refrigerant piping, the better the perf rmance. C nnect s that the piping is as sh rt as p ssible. Sh rtest
all wable length per r m is 3m)

Re rigerant piping work
1. Installing outdoor unit
1) When installing the utd r unit, refer t "Precauti ns f r Selecting the L cati n" and the "Ind r/Outd r Unit Installati n Drawings".
2)If drain w rk is necessary, f ll w the pr cedures bel w.
2. Drain work
1) Use drain plug f r drainage.
2) If the drain p rt is c vered by a m unting base r fl r surface, place additi nal f t bases f at least 30mm in height under the
utd r unit's feet.
3) In c ld areas, d n t use a drain h se with the utd r unit.(Otherwise, drain water may freeze, impairing heating perf rmance.)

4. Purging air and checking gas leakage
WARNING
3. Re rigerant piping work
When piping w rk is c mpleted, it is necessary t purge the air and check f r gas leakage.
1) D n t mix any substance ther than the specified refrigerant (R410A) int the refrigerati n cycle.
2) When refrigerant gas leaks ccur, ventilate the r m as s n and as much as p ssible.
3) R410A, as well as ther refrigerants, sh uld always be rec vered and never be released directly int the envir nment.
4) Use a vacuum pump f r R410A exclusively. Using the same vacuum pump f r different refrigerents may damage the vacuun pump
r the unit.
If using additi nal refrigerant, perf rm air purging fr m the refrigerant pipes and ind r unit using a vacuum pump, then charge additi nal
refrigerant.
Use a hexag nal wrench (4mm) t perate the st p valve r d.
All refrigerant pipe j ints sh uld be tightened with a t rque wrench at the specified tightening t rque.
C nnect pr jecti n side f charging h se(Which c mes fr m gauge manif ld) t gas st p valve's service p rt.
Fully pen gauge manif ld's l w-pressure valve(L ) and c mpletely cl se its high-pressure valve(Hi).
(High-pressure valve subsequently requires n perati n.)
Apply vacuum pumping. Check that the c mp und pressure gauge reads-0.1MPa(-76cmHg).
Evacuati n f r at lease 1 h ur is rec mmended.
Cl se gauge manif ld's l w-pressure valve(L ) and st p vacuum pump.
(Leave as is f r 4-5 minutes and make sure the c upling meter needie d es n t g back.
If it d es g back, this may indicate the presence f m isture r leaking fr m c nnecting parts. After inspecting all the c nnecti n and
l sening then retightening thenuts, reqeat steps 2-4. )
Rem ve c vers fr m liquid st p valve and gas st p valve.
Turn the liquid st p valve's r d 90 degrees c untercl ckwise with a hexag nal wrench t pen valve.
Cl se it after 5 sec nds, and check f r gas leakage.
Using s apy water, check f r gas leakage fr m ind r unit's flare and utd r unit's flare and valve r ds.
After the check is c mplete, wipe all s apy water ff.
Disc nnect charging h se fr m gas st p valve's service p rt, then fully pen liquid and gas st p valves.
(D n t attempt t turn valve r dj bey nd its st p.)
Tighten valve caps and service p rt caps f r the liquid and gas st p valves with a t rque wrench at the specified t rques. See "3
Refrigerant piping " n page 6 f r details.

1). Align the centres f b th flares and tighten the flare nuts 3 r 4 turns by hand. Then tighten them fully with the t r wrenches.
Use t rque wrenches when tightening the flare nuts t prevent damage t the flare nuts and escaping gas.
