water-processing communication conversion box.
Place at least one person in charge of the ML2-200 before operation, and said
persons should fully read and understand this manual before using the ML2-200. In
addition, make sure that this operation manual is kept close at hand whenever working
with the ML2-200.

4. Basic Precautions
Items to Check before Use
Check that the ML2-200 is installed correctly as described in
Section 5: Pre-operation Inspection. If any installation-related
problem is identified, contact a MIURA sales office immediately.
One specific person must be placed in charge of the ML2-200.
Said person must carefully read all of the safety-related precautions contained
within this operation manual, and once they have all been fully understood, must
operate and maintain the ML2-200 in accordance with them.
Do Not Customize or Modify
Customization or modification not recommended by MIURA (such as connecting to
ancillary equipment) may affect safety. Contact MIURA maintenance personnel
before customizing or modifying. Note MIURA will accept no responsibility for the
results of unapproved modification.
When Reselling or Relocating
Proper installation and ancillary equipment are necessary when using the ML2-200.
Be sure to contact a MIURA sales office, your local dealer, or a service center when
moving or reselling the ML2-200. Inappropriate installation or unsuitable ancillary
equipment may cause personal injury.
This operation manual must be read by all persons using the ML2-200. If reselling,
this manual must also be provided to the new user.
WARNING
All of the safety-related precautions contained within this operation manual
must be observed whenever operating the ML2-200 Water-processing
Communication Conversion Box.

5. Pre-operation Inspection
Device Installation
Confirm whether the installation location is appropriate.
This communication conversion box has been designed for indoor use. Ensure
that it is installed level on a wall and in a location that is exposed neither to rain
nor to direct sunlight.
Electrical Work
Failure to observe electrical work warnings may lead to electrical leaks and electric
shock.

Confirm whether a dedicated power source has been provided.
The main power supply must be provided with a dedicated earth-leakage circuit
breaker (fitted with an overcurrent protection).
Ensure that such a breaker is not shared with other equipments. Furthermore,
ensure that the power supply can remain constantly turned on.

Confirm whether the device has been grounded.
At the very least, D-class grounding (with ground resistance of 100 Ωor less)
must be carried out at the ground terminal. Failure to observe this precaution can
lead to electric shock and malfunction.
WARNING
Before operating the ML2-200 Water-processing Communication Conversion
Box, check the points below to ensure correct installation. Do not use the
ML2-200 if it is installed incorrectly. Failure to observe this precaution may
cause serious accidents.
WARNING
The power-supply voltage must always be inspected. If this voltage does not
match the ML2-200 specifications, there is a danger that malfunction, burnout,
the outbreak of fire, and other dangerous situations may develop.

6. Operating the ML2-200
Communication Conversion
Using the ML2-200, Colormetry hardness monitors connected to DS-NET networks
can also be connected to M-NET networks.

NOTE
If the message “Comm F: F090” is displayed on the screen of the Colormetry
hardness monitor, it is possible that communication is not taking place between
ML2-200 and Colormetry. In such a case, ensure that power is being supplied
to the ML2-200 and that DS-NET lines have been correctly connected.
WARNING
When inspecting wiring, turn off the main power for the equipment known to be
operating incorrectly. Follow the instructions given in the relevant operation
manuals regarding the procedure for eliminating the causes of alarms and
system notices. Any incorrect operation can lead to serious accidents.
When performing repairs, be sure to correctly follow the sequence described in
the operation manual. If the prescribed repair operations do not successfully
eliminate the problem, contact a MIURA sales office, your local dealer, or a
service center. Operations other than those specified may cause personal
injury.
