Skype is active.
3Insert the supplied CD into your PC’s CD-ROM drive. The
installation should start automatically after a few seconds. If
it does not, open Computer and double-click your CD or
DVD drive icon.
If the AutoPlay dialog box appears, select Run setup.exe:
If a message tells you that an unidentified program wants
access to your computer, click Allow.

Drivers and follow the Zoom Phone Adaptor Setup Wizard
instructions.
If you see a message saying Windows can't verify the
publisher of this driver software, select Install this driver
software anyway.
7

When the Completing the Zoom Phone Adaptor Setup
Wizard dialog box appears, connect the Adaptor to a USB port
on your computer or to an AC-powered USB hub and click

Now go to the next section on Connecting a Phone.
9

Connecting a Phone
Plug a regular phone (one with a corded handset) or a cordless
phone into the PHONE connector on the Adaptor. If you have a
US-style phone, it should plug in easily. (If you don't have a US-
style phone, try unplugging the telephone’s cord and replacing it
with the phone cord supplied with your Phone Adaptor. If you
can’t unplug the cord, you will need to get an adaptor.)
Connecting to Your Landline (Recommended)
In order to make and receive non-Skype phone calls, including
emergency calls, and to link Skype to your mobile/cell phone,
you need to connect the Adaptor's LINE jack to a standard
telephone wall jack.
If your wall jack isn’t modular, you may need to get an adaptor.
Checking the Installation
When the installation is complete, the Zoom Phone Adaptor is
plugged into your PC, a telephone is connected to the Adaptor,
the Adaptor may be connected to a telephone wall jack, and the
Zoom Agent is running. The Zoom Agent is running if you see a
green telephone in the Windows taskbar.
10

Of course your phone may look different, and it doesn’t have to
be a cordless phone. And the appearance of your computer and
wall phone jack may be different.
If the Zoom Agent is not running, make sure the adaptor is
connected to the PC and click Start, All Programs, Zoom
Phone Adaptor, and then Zoom Agent.
11

Verifying your installation with Skype
1Double-click the Skype icon in the Windows taskbar.
2On the Skype Contacts tab select Skype Test Call, click
the green phone icon, and follow the voice prompts to record
a 10-second message and then hear it played back to you.
3If you hear your own voice message, you have verified that
Skype, the Zoom Phone Adaptor, and the telephone handset
are all connected and installed properly.
If you don't hear your message, please review the
installation instructions above, and repeat any steps
necessary.
Note:
Skype Test Call is a Skype feature that may not be
supported in some geographic locations or for reasons
beyond the scope of the Zoom Phone Adaptor.
