WIRELESS-N USB ADAPTER To connect to a network without security FCC Regulations
QUICK START 1Double-click the Zoom icon on your desktop or taskbar to open the configuration software. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class C digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules.
These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment
generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause
harmful interference to radio communication. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation.
If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment
off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
2In the Zoom Wireless-N USB Network window, look through the list of available wireless networks and
highlight the network you want, and then click Connect.
This Quick Start is for quick installation of the USB adapter onto Windows 7, Vista, XP, or 2000 computers.
MAC users and others can also view the more comprehensive User Manual by inserting the adapter’s CD into
their computer’s CD or DVD drive and double-clicking on the User Manual to open the document. Then go to
the section that suits your needs. 3If you join a wireless network that does not have security, you should now be connected. To check your
connection, open your Web browser and go to your favorite site.
-Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

To install the Adapter Troubleshooting Tips
Important: Do not plug the Adapter into your computer yet. We will tell you when to plug it in. If your Zoom Wireless-N USB adapter is not working properly, try these steps: NOTE: All Telecom and safety Tests only include this content hardware device only.
•Make sure the adapter is not damaged and that it is securely connected to the computer, either directly or
through its short USB extension cable (which is included in the package).
1Insert the Wireless-N USB CD into the CD or DVD drive. The CD should start automatically. CE Declaration of Conformity
For Windows Vista and Windows 7 only: •Perform a power cycle – take the following steps in the order given:

1. Turn off the computer.
If the AutoPlay dialog box appears, click Run Setup.exe.
2. Turn off your wireless router, gateway or access point and wait a few seconds.
If a message appears saying An unidentified program wants access to your computer or Do you want
to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?, click
Allow or Yes.
3. Turn the router, gateway or access point back on. RF Exposure Information (SAR)
4. Turn on the computer.
Windows Vista users: Try again to connect your wireless adapter to a network using Windows
Networking. FCC Radiation Exposure Statement:
This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be
installed and operated with a minimum distance of about eight inches (20cm) between the radiator and your body. This transmitter
must not be co-located or operated in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
2On the next screen, select Install. •If you are using the USB extension cable, try changing the orientation of the adapter by twisting the semi-
rigid USB extension cable to angle it toward the direction of the access point.
3A Zoom Wireless-N USB Setup screen is displayed for a few seconds while the installation proceeds. Modular Approval Statement:

4On the InstallShield Wizard Complete screen, click Finish and remove the CD. •Try the adapter in another USB port. 1) The antenna must be installed such that 20 cm is maintained between the antenna and users, and
2) The transmitter module may not be co-located with any other transmitter or antenna.
5Plug the USB Adapter into one of the available USB slots on your computer. (If it is difficult to insert the
USB Adapter directly into the USB slot because there isn’t enough space near the slot, first plug the USB
Adapter into the extension cable included in the package and then plug the other end of the extension
cable into the USB slot in your computer. Since the extension cable is semi-rigid, you can twist the
extension cable to orient the USB Adapter for best reception. Usually a vertical orientation is best.)
•Unplug other USB devices from your computer one at a time and see if that allows the adapter to work. IMPORTANT NOTE:
In the event that these conditions cannot be met (for example certain laptop configurations or co-location with another transmitter),
then the FCC authorization is no longer considered valid and the FCC ID cannot be used on the final product. In these circumstances,
the OEM integrator will be responsible for re-evaluating the end product (including the transmitter) and obtaining a separate FCC
authorization.
•If possible, try installing the adapter on another computer.
If the problem does not seem to be hardware-related, click the Zoom icon on your desktop to run the Wireless-
N USB software.
1Check the Configuration tab to make sure that the SSID and Network Type settings for the adapter are
the same as these settings for the other devices in your wireless network.
To connect to a network
Now you are ready to connect to a network. Wireless networks typically have a wireless access point, router,
or gateway at the heart of the wireless network. Wireless networks sometimes use wireless security and
sometimes do not. What you do next depends on your network’s wireless security. You have several options: 2Then check the security settings to make sure that the adapter is configured for the same security system
as the other devices in your wireless network. Make sure that your security key is the same – remember
that the keys are case-sensitive.
1If your access point or router supports WPS, we highly recommend that you connect to a network using
WPS as described below. 3Check your TCP/IP settings as discussed in Appendix A of the User Manual by inserting the CD included
in the package into the CD or DVD drive and double-clicking on the User Manual to open the document.
Then scroll down to Appendix A and follow the instructions.
2If your access point does not support WPS or you prefer not to connect this way, you can connect to a
network without security as described below. 4If the adapter still does not work, uninstall the software and then re-install it. To do this, first go to the
notification area of the taskbar (commonly found on the bottom right corner of your desktop), right-click
and select the Safely Remove Hardware icon. Highlight USB Mass Storage Device and click Stop. In
the next screen, click OK. Then click OK again and then click Close to exit the window. Now, you can
physically remove the USB adapter from the USB port. Then select Start, All Programs, Zoom Wireless-
N USB, Uninstall Zoom Wireless-N USB. Now you can re-install the Wireless-N USB software by
following the instructions at the beginning of this Quick Start guide starting from

refer to the User Manual by inserting the CD included in the package into the CD or DVD drive and
double-clicking on the User Manual to open the document. Then scroll down to Section 2: Setting
Security and follow the instructions.

To connect to a network using WPS .
Getting Help
Your wireless access point, router, or gateway needs to support WPS. This typically means that the router has
a WPS button built into its case.
If you need assistance, please go to www.zoom.com and select Technical Support for help via our Web
SmartFacts system, email or phone.
1Start by double-clicking the Zoom icon on your desktop or taskbar to launch the Config Utility.
2On the Configuration tab, click the WPS button to open the WPS Config screen.
3Go to the access point (e.g. router) and activate the WPS pushbutton (or Secure Setup or similarly named
button, or a virtual pushbutton on the software display of the access point). You may have to hold down
the WPS button for several seconds or until the WiFi indicator light on the access point starts flashing.
The access point will now begin accepting WPS connections. (If security has not been set on the access
point, a random SSID and WPA key will be used.)
4Now, click on PBC (Push Button configuration) on Zoom’s WPS Config screen.
You should now have a secure connection. Open your Web browser and go to your favorite site.

Como conectarse a una red

Consejos para detectar y resolver problemas

1Revise el tab Configuration (Configuración) para asegurarse de que las configuraciones SSID y Network
Type (Tipo de Red) para el adaptador sean las mismas configuraciones para los otros dispositivos en su
red inalámbrica.
2Luego verifique las configuraciones de seguridad para asegurarse de que el adaptador esta configurado
