A. SAFETY MESSAGES
1. Please read through all the instructions and keep them since they contain important information. 2. Adult assistance and supervision
are required. 3. This kit is intended for children 5 years or older. 4. This kit and its finished product contain small parts which may cause
choking if misused. Keep away from children under 3 years old. 5. To prevent possible short circuits, never touch the contacts inside the
battery case with any metal. 6. Only install batteries after the kit is assembled. Adult supervision is required.
B. USE OF BATTERIES
1. Requires two 1.5 V AAA batteries (not included). 2. For best results, always use fresh batteries. 3. Make sure you insert the batteries
with the correct polarity. 4. Remove the batteries from the kit when not in use. 5. Replace exhausted batteries straight away to avoid
possible damage to the kit. 6. Rechargeable batteries must be removed from the kit before recharging. 7. Rechargeable batteries must be
recharged under adult supervision. 8. Make sure the supply terminals in the battery case are not short circuited. 9. Do not attempt to
recharge non-rechargeable batteries. 10. Do not mix old and new batteries. 11. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or
rechargeable batteries. 12. Unscrew the battery case cover to replace battery. Adult supervision is required.

13. Pour some water into the water container.
14. Switch on the fountain. Water will magically run out through the water tray, your unicorn fountain is complete.
E. HOW DOES IT WORK?
The batteries operate the motor inside the motor module, which turns a small water pump. This pumps water from the water container
into the transparent tube leading to the tap. The water comes out of the tap and pours back into the water container. The water circulates
continuously.
F. TROUBLESHOOTING
If the water does not flow:
• Check that the batteries are fresh and inserted the correct way round in the battery compartment.
• Check that you have connected the wires between the motor and battery correctly.
• Check that there is enough water in the water container.
Air may get trapped inside the tube and disrupt the flow of water:
• Remove the trapped air by quickly turning the tap on and off a few times.
• Alternatively you can pour water inside the transparent tube by removing the tap head temporarily.
• Avoid spilling water into the battery case and motor cabinet. If this does happen, unscrew all the covers and let everything dry out. (Blow
it with a hairdryer to dry it more quickly.)
G. FUN FACTS
•The water pump inside the Unicorn Fountain has a tiny fan-shaped blade called an impeller. When the impeller spins it pushes water
into the pipe that leads to the top.
• Water comes out from the top because of a force called water pressure. The pump in the Unicorn Fountain creates water pressure that
pushes the water into the pipe leading to the top.
• About one in five people in the world live without access to clean water at home.
• In total, women in Africa spend 40 billion hours every year walking to fetch clean water.
• A clean water supply to all homes could save up to a million lives every year.
• Global warming means that droughts are likely to be more common and more severe.
• Many charities around the world are working to bring clean water to everyone.
• Water fountains, fish tanks and swimming pools all have pumps that circulate just like the pump in the Unicorn Fountain.

7. Add the wire cover (part F) to the underside of the container and secure it with a screw (part R).
8. Install 2 AAA batteries into the battery compartment, then add the battery cover (part M) and secure it with a screw.
9. Install the disk (part I), transparent tube (part K) and water tray (part B) as shown. Turn the direction of the water tray so that the
dripping spouts are not pointing to the edges of the container, to avoid water spilling out.
10. Press the unicorn figurine holder (part L) onto the top of the transparent tube, then insert the unicorn figurine (part J) as shown.
11. Screw the castle base (part H) to the container cover, then insert the castle roofs (part O) onto the castle top.
12. Insert the 4 small flowers (part Q) into the 4 corners of the container cover. Decorate the fountain and castle with the sticker sheet
(part N) provided.
1. Install the blade cover (part D) onto the motor module (part C) and secure it with two screws (part R).
2. Push the T tube (part G) onto the motor module.
3. Place the assembled module in the water container (part A) as shown.
4. Add the container cover (part E) to the water container. Make sure the motor wires pass through the square hole in the cover. Secure
the cover with four screws (part R).
5. Pass the red and black wires through the small hole in the container cover so that they appear in the bottom of the container.
6. Insert the wires into the terminals as shown and insert the terminal caps (part P) to secure the wires in place.
