Components and Features
Key function
Attention: The power switch is situated below the display left-hand side.
Keys: Function:
For changing between weighing program and counting unit program.
To
set scale to zero during weighing and for adding up during counting
mode.
To tare any requested alue during weighing and for reducing during piece
counting mode.
To change the weighing unit (kg, lb).
Display symbols
EEEEEE O erload of scale is announced by an accoustic signal.- remo e object
of immediately from the platform!
O Weight alue stable / Indication of the total weight (gross weight).
T Indication that a fixed weight has been keyed in which will be deducted
on each following weighing procedure ( TARE-symbol) e.
-0- Indication that scale has been set to zero manually
Indication that battery becomes low.

Installation and use of scale
This symbol means: "Consult operating instructions". To achie e accurate
results, read the instructions for use carefully before use and follow all
instructions pro ided therein. Keep the instructions for use for future reference.
Your ADE Portion scale is a quality product.
It is a precision instrument and must be treated accordingly. Therefore kindly read and follow
the Operating Manual in all respects.

Power Supply of the scale
Mains and rechargeable batteries (power-pack)
.
- The battery pack is already installed in the base of the scale.
- Charge the power-pack by using the mains adapter and connect the jack firmly.
Complete first charging of power-pack needs 24 hours.
- The full battery life is approx. 100 hours.
- If power-pack needs recharging there will be an arrow abo e the low battery symbol on
the display. Still the scale will operate for about 10 hours after which it will automatically
switch off to protect the battery.
- You can also identify status of battery charging by the colour of the LED control light
placed in the right hand corner abo e the display.
- When the scale is plugged into mains the power pack will be recharged automatically.
- LED is illuminated green the batteries ha e full charge. If it is red the battery is nearly
discharged and yellow indicates the battery is under charge.
- Battery life becomes weaker if lifetime after charging becomes shorter. In this case
contact your local dealer or ser ice partner.
- Please make sure the local oltage supply corresponds to the indication printed on the
adapter.

Positioning of the scale
Make sure all four feet of the platform ha e direct contact to the surface.
The spirit le el of the scale is an additional tool to make sure the scale is carefully positioned
and offers best results when the air bubble is centred.
The alignment of the scale must be checked and corrected e ery time the location of the scale
is changed.
Attached counternuts can be used for the foot screws. To reach a higher standing of the scale
use the nuts. Release the foot screws from the housing, fix the counternuts to the winding of
the foot screws and rescrew them to the housing.
The scale has a transport lock.
Underneath the weighing platform you fond the following remark: Please remove this
Protection Screw before using!
Carefully keep the protection screw for future use (transportation e.g. for repair).
Place the metal weighing tray on the platform by placing the 4 pins in the appropriate holes.
Connect the mains adapter to the scale.

Use of the scale
eighing
Power the scale by pressing the tilting switch underneath the base (left hand side).
For approx. 3 sec the display shows "SYS - UP" followed by a test run 0000, 1111, 2222
followed by Volt 6.0 (depending on loading status).
Finally the scale is changing into weighing mode and shows 0 on display.
Set zero
By using the Zero key e entual irregularities occurred after start up the scale can be
compensated by setting the display back to zero for all subsequent weighing procedures.
Tare Function
This function enables the user to weigh objects together with others (e.g. container, foil or
paper cloth) without the additional weight influencing the weighing result.
- Start up the scale.
- If necessary use the manual zero function (see abo e under Set zero) pressing the
Zero key if necessary. The Zero indication appears on display.
- Place the object (e.g. container, foil or paper cloth) on the tray.
- Press Tare key to come back to zero. Display now shows `0.00´ and the Tare symbol
will appear.
- Put the object to be weighed on the platform.
- The weight of object can be read from the display.
If the objects to be tared will always bet he same you may continue weighing another object
and the scale will only show the weight of the indi idually weighed object. In case the scale is
shut off automatically (e.g. n battery operating mode) the stored alue is cleared. If the alue
to be tared is changing during operation of the scale, complete unloading of the scale is
necessary. Press Tare key again to return to normal status.
Unit function
By using the Unit key you may select the weighing mode (kg, g, lb).
Before weighing always make sure you are in the selected weighing mode.

Setting the unit counting mode
Attention: If containers are used, please proceed as explained under Tare function.
Once in weighing mode put a reference batch (10, 20, 30 counting parts) on the
platform or container (minimum 1%o of the full capacity) .
Press MODE key
Pcs is indicated and the display shows the reference batch 10.
If the result shown aries from the reference batch press either zero or tare key.
Press mode key subject to pieces put on the platform and reference badge are
identical. You may now start counting process.
Take the object from the platform and press mode key again to return to weighing
mode.
Alarm functions
Overload
An o erload of the scale is announced by a beeping acoustic signal as well as by EEEEE
appearing o erloading objects from the platform. in the display. To a oid any damage of the
scale release o erloading objects from the platform.
Underload signal
If the platform co er is remo ed the beeping acoustic signal is to be heard. The display shows
AdL.
Battery alarm
The scale is equipped by a rechargeable battery. In case the oltage is too low this is indicated
on the display. A 12 hrs loading by using the mains adapter is necessary. The battery symbol
flashes if loading is necessary. A full loading process takes about 12 hours.
CHARGE indication is illuminated (yellow) . Please make sure the scale is in off mode for full
loading.
An extreme unloading of the accumulator must be a oided absolutely.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Cleaning
Before cleaning make sure the scale has been disconnected from the socket. For cleaning just
use a damp cloth or common disinfection products. Do not use any aggressi e cleaning fluids.
Make sure no water or cleaning fluid penetrates the scale.

Service
Display Indications:
Recharge the power-pack by using the mains adapter
Any other failure messages e.g. Err 4, Err 5, Err 6 or Err 9 please contact your local dealer or
ser ice partner or see Ser ice Manual where authorized technical staff is a ailable.
Safety instructions
Do NOT use the scale

After long storage in humid places
In those cases contact your local dealer or ser ice partner.
Storage and Transport
Keep all original parts and pieces for an e entual sending back of the scale in order to a oid
any possible damage during transport which automatically leads to no warranty.
Disconnect all cables before transport to a oid unnecessary damages.
Disposal
Waste electrical equipment do not belong in household waste. De ices
with this marking may not be disposed of as residual waste, but must be
recycled.
Remo e (if possible) all batteries and rechargeable batteries from the
de ices and send them to the battery disposal.
Make sure that only depleted batteries or batteries with insulated poles are
disposed of so that there is no short circuit!
arranty
A one years warranty period from date of purchase will be guaranteed for either repair or
replacement once it is pro en that the defects are caused by poor material or poor
workmanship (please keep the receipt for presentation). All mo eable parts such as batteries,
cables, plug-in power supply units, rechargeable batteries etc. are excluded. Warranty does
not apply to normal appearance of usage or sign of wear or any damages caused by accidents
or misuse. Products which ha e been opened by unauthorized persons are automatically out
of warranty.
Customers abroad are requested to contact their local dealers in the e ent of any warranty
becoming applicable.
