b) Operations such as polishing are not recommended
to be performed with this power tool. Operations for which
the power tool was not designed may create a hazard and cause
personal injury.
c) Do not use accessories which are not specically
designed and recommended by the tool manufacturer. Just
because the accessory can be attached to your power tool, it does
not assure safe operation.
d) The rated speed of the accessory must be at least equal
to the maximum speed marked on the power tool. Accesso-
ries running faster than their rated speed can break and y apart.
e) The outside diameter and the thickness of your
accessory must be within the capacity rating of your power

WARNING!

f) Threaded mounting of accessories must match the grin-
der spindle thread. For accessories mounted by anges, the
arbour hole of the accessory must t the locating diameter
of the ange. Accessories that do not match the mounting hard-
ware of the power tool will run out of balance, vibrate excessively
and may cause loss of control.
g) Do not use a damaged accessory. Before each use inspect
the accessory such as abrasive wheels for chips and cracks,
backing pad for cracks, tear or excess wear, wire brush for
loose or cracked wires. If power tool or accessory is dropped,
inspect for damage or install anundamaged accessory.After
inspecting and installing an accessory, position yourself and
bystanders away from the plane of the rotating accessory
and run the power tool at maximum no-load speed for one
minute. Damaged accessories will normally break apart during this
test time.
h) Wearpersonal protective equipment. Depending on
application, use faceshield, safety goggles or safety glasses.
As appropriate,wear dustmask, hearing protectors, gloves
and shop apron capable of stoppingsmall abrasiveor
workpiecefragments. The eye protection must be capable of
stopping ying debris generated by various operations. The dust
mask or respirator must be capable of ltrating particles generated
by your operation. Prolonged exposure to high intensity noise may
cause hearing loss.
i) Keep bystanders a safe distance away from work area.
Anyoneenteringthe workarea must wearpersonal protec-
tiveequipment.Fragments of workpiece or of a broken accessory
may y away and cause injury beyond immediate area of operation.
j) Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces only,
when performing an operation where the cutting accessory
may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Cutting accessory
contacting a “live” wire may make exposed metal parts of the power
tool “live” and could give the operator an electric shock.
k) Positionthecordclear of thespinning accessory. If you lose
control, the cord may be cut or snagged and your hand or arm may be
pulled into the spinning wheel.
l) Neverlay thepower tool down untilthe accessory has
come to a complete stop. The spinning accessory may grab the
surface and pull the power tool out of your control.
m) Do not run the power tool while carrying it at your side.
Accidental contact with the spinning accessory could snag your
clothing, pulling the accessory into your body.
n) Regularly clean the power tool’s air vents.The motor’s fan
will draw the dust inside the housing and excessive accumulation of
powdered metal may cause electrical hazards.
o) Do notoperate thepowertool nearammable materials.
Sparks could ignite these materials.
p) Donot useaccessories that require liquidcoolants. Using
water or other liquid coolants may result in electrocution or shock.
Kickback and Related Warnings
Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or snagged rotating
wheel, backing pad, brush or any other accessory. Pinching or snag-
ging causes rapid stalling of the rotating accessory which in turn
causes the uncontrolled power tool to be forced in the direction
opposite of the accessory’s rotation at the point of the binding.
For example, if an abrasive wheel is snagged or pinched by the
workpiece, the edge of the wheel that is entering into the pinch
point can dig into the surface of the material causing the wheel
to climb out or kick out. The wheel may either jump toward or
away from the operator, depending on direction of the wheel’s
movement at the point of pinching. Abrasive wheels may also break
under these conditions.
Kickback is the result of power tool misuse and/or incorrect opera-
ting procedures or conditions and can be avoided by taking proper
precautions as given below.
a) Maintain a rm grip on the power tool and position your
body and arm to allow you to resist kickback forces. Always
use auxiliary handle, if provided, for maximum control over
kickback or torque reaction during start-up. The operator can
control torque reactions or kickback forces, if proper precautions
are taken.
b) Never place your hand near the rotating accessory.
Accessory may kickback over your hand.
c) Do not position your body in the area where power tool
will move if kickback occurs. Kickback will propel the tool
in direction opposite to the wheel’s movement at the point of
snagging.
d) Use special care when working corners, sharp edges etc.
Avoid bouncing and snagging the accessory. Corners, sharp
edges or bouncing have a tendency to snag the rotating accessory
and cause loss of control or kickback.
e) Do not attach a saw chain woodcarving blade or toothed
saw blade. Such blades create frequent kickback and loss of control.
Safety Warnings Specic for Grinding and Abrasive Cutting-
O Operations:
a) Use only wheel types that are recommended for your
power tool and the specic guard designed for the selected
wheel. Wheels for which the power tool was not designed cannot
be adequately guarded and are unsafe.
b) The grinding surface of the centre depressed wheels must
be mounted below the plane of the guard lip. An improperly
mounted wheel that projects through the plane of the guard lip
cannot be adequately protected.
c) The guard must be securely attached to the power tool
and positioned for maximum safety, so the least amount
of wheel is exposed towards the operator. The guard helps
to protect the operator from broken wheel fragments, accidental
contact with wheel and sparks that could ignite clothing.
d) Wheels must be used onlyfor recommended applications.
For example: do not grind with the side of cut-o wheel.
Abrasive cut-o wheels are intended for peripheral grinding, side
forces applied to these wheels may cause them to shatter.
e) Always use undamaged wheel anges thatare of correct
size and shape for your selected wheel. Proper wheel anges
support the wheel thus reducing the possibility of wheel breakage.
Flanges for cut-o wheels may be dierent from grinding wheel
anges.
f) Do not use worn down wheels from larger power tools.
Wheel intended for larger power tool is not suitable for the higher
speed of a smaller tool and may burst.
Additional Safety Warnings Specic for Abrasive Cutting-
O Operations:
a) Do not “jam” the cut-o wheel or apply excessive pressure.
Do not attempt to make an excessive depth of cut. Overstressing
the wheel increases the loading and susceptibility to twisting or
binding of the wheel in the cut and the possibility of kickback or wheel
breakage.

b) Do not position your body in line with and behind the
rotating wheel. When the wheel, at the point of operation, is moving
away from your body, the possible kickback may propel the spinning
wheel and the power tool directly at you.
c) When wheel is binding or when interrupting a cut for any
reason, switch o the power tool and hold the power tool
motionless until the wheel comes to a complete stop. Never
attempt to remove the cut-o wheel from the cut while the
wheel is in motion otherwise kickback may occur. Investigate
and take corrective action to eliminate the cause of wheel binding.
d) Do not restart the cutting operation in the workpiece. Let
the wheel reach full speed and carefully re-enter the cut. The
wheel may bind, walk up or kickback if the power tool is restarted in
the workpiece.
e) Support panels or any oversized workpiece to minimize the
risk of wheel pinching and kickback. Large workpieces tend to sag
under their own weight. Supports must be placed under the workpiece
near the line of cut and near the edge of the workpiece on both sides
of the wheel.
f) Use extra caution when making a “pocket cut” into existing
wallsor other blindareas. The protruding wheel may cut gas or
water pipes, electrical wiring or objects that can cause kickback.
Safety Warnings Specic for Sanding Operations:
a) Do not use excessively oversized sanding disc paper.
Follow manufacturers recommendations, when selecting
sanding paper. Larger sanding paper extending beyond the
sanding pad presents a laceration hazard and may cause snagging,
tearing of the disc or kickback.
Safety Warnings Specic for Wire Brushing Operations:
a) Be aware that wire bristles are thrown by the brush
even during ordinary operation. Do not overstress the wires
by applying excessive load to the brush. The wire bristles can
easily penetrate light clothing and/or skin.
b) If the use of a guard is recommended for wire brushing,
do not allow any interference of the wire wheel or brush
with the guard. Wire wheel or brush may expand in diameter due
to work load and centrifugal forces.
Additional Safety and Working Instructions
When grinding metal, ying sparks are produced. Take care that
no persons are endangered. Because of the danger of re, no
combustible materials should be located in the vicinity (spark ight
zone). Do not use dust extraction.
Avoid ying sparks and sanding dust hit your body.
Never reach into the danger area of the machine when it is running.
Chips and splinters must not be removed while the machine is
running.
Immediately switch o the machine in case of considerable vibra-
tions or if other malfunctions occur. Check the machine in order to
nd out the cause.
Under extreme conditions (e.g. smooth-grinding metals with
the arbour and vulcanized bre grinding disk), signicant
contamination can build up on the inside of the angle grinder. For
safety reasons, in such conditions a ground fault interrupter must
be connected in series. If the ground fault interrupter trips the
machine must be sent for service.
Do not let any metal parts enter the airing slots - danger of short
circuit!
MAINS CONNECTION
Connect only to single-phase AC system voltage as indicated on
the rating plate. It is also possible to connect to sockets without an
earthing contact as the design conforms to safety class II.
Appliances used at many dierent locations including wet room
and open air must be connected via a residual current device (FI,
RCD, PRCD) of 30mA or less.
Only plug-in when machine is switched o.
Inrush currents cause short-time voltage drops. Under unfavoura-
ble power supply conditions, other equipment may be aected. If
the system impedance of the power supply is lower than 0,2 Ohm,
disturbances are unlikely to occur.
SPECIFIED CONDITIONS OF USE
The angle grinder is intended for grinding and cutting metal, stone
and ceramicmaterials as well as sanding and wire brushing.
Use the cutting guard from the accessories range for cutting
application.
Please refer to the instructions supplied by the accessory
manufacturer.
The machine is suitable only for working without water.
WORKING INSTRUCTIONS
For accessories intended to be tted with threaded hole wheel,
ensure that the thread in the wheel is long enough to accept the
spindle length.
Always use and store the cutting and grinding disks according to
the manufacturer‘s instructions.
Always use the correct guard for cutting and grinding.
The grinding surface of the centre depressed disks must be moun-
ted min. 2 mm below the plane of the guard lip.
The adjusting nut must be tightened before starting to work with
the machine.
Always use the auxiliary handle.
The workpiece must be xed if it is not heavy enough to be steady.
Never move the workpiece towards the rotating disk by hand.
MAINTENANCE
The ventilation slots of the machine must be kept clear at all times.
If the supply cord of this power tool is damaged, it must be
replaced by a specially prepared cord available through the service
organization.

e) Außendurchmesser und Dicke des Einsatzwerkzeugs
müssen den Maßangaben Ihres Elektrowerkzeugs
entsprechen. Falsch bemessene Einsatzwerkzeuge können nicht
ausreichend abgeschirmt oder kontrolliert werden.
f) Einsatzwerkzeuge mit Gewindeeinsatz müssen genau
auf das Gewinde der Schleifspindel passen. Bei Ein-
satzwerkzeugen, die mittels Flansch montiert werden,
muss der Lochdurchmesser des Einsatzwerkzeugs zum
Aufnahmeansch des Flansches passen. Einsatzwerkzeuge,
die nicht genau am Einsatzwerkzeug befestigt werden, drehen sich
ungleichmäßig, vibrieren sehr stark und können zum Verlust der
Kontrolle führen.
g) Verwenden Sie keinebeschädigten Einsatzwerkzeuge.
KontrollierenSie vorjeder Verwendung Einsatzwerk-
zeuge wie Schleifscheiben auf Absplitterungen und Risse,
Schleifteller auf Risse,Verschleiß oder starke Abnutzung,
Drahtbürsten auf lose oder gebrochene Drähte. Wenn das
Elektrowerkzeug oder das Einsatzwerkzeug herunterfällt,
überprüfen Sie, obes beschädigt ist, oder verwenden Sie ein
unbeschädigtes Einsatzwerkzeug. WennSiedas Einsatzwerk-
zeug kontrolliert und eingesetzt haben, halten Sieund in
der Nähe bendliche Personen sich außerhalb derEbene des
rotierendenEinsatzwerkzeugs auf und lassen Siedas Elek-
trowerkzeug eine Minutelang mit Höchstdrehzahl laufen.
Beschädigte Einsatzwerkzeuge brechen meist in dieser Testzeit.
h) Tragen Siepersönliche Schutzausrüstung. Verwenden Sie
je nach Anwendung Vollgesichtsschutz, Augenschutz oder
Schutzbrille. Soweitangemessen, tragenSie Staubmaske,
Gehörschutz, Schutzhandschuhe oder Spezialschürze,die
kleine Schleif-und Materialpartikel vonIhnen fernhält.
Die Augen sollen vor herumiegenden Fremdkörpern geschützt
werden, die bei verschiedenen Anwendungen entstehen. Staub- oder
Atemschutzmaske müssen den bei der Anwendung entstehenden
Staub ltern. Wenn Sie lange lautem Lärm ausgesetzt sind, können
Sie einen Hörverlust erleiden.
i) Achten Siebei anderen Personen auf sicheren Abstand zu
Ihrem Arbeitsbereich. Jeder, der den Arbeitsbereich betritt,
musspersönlicheSchutzausrüstung tragen.Bruchstücke des
Werkstücks oder gebrochener Einsatzwerkzeuge können wegiegen
und Verletzungen auch außerhalb des direkten Arbeitsbereichs
verursachen.
j) Halten Siedas Elektrowerkzeug nur an denisolierten
Griächen, wennSie Arbeiten ausführen, beidenen dasEin-
satzwerkzeug verborgene Stromleitungen oder daseigene
Netzkabel treenkann. Der Kontakt mit einer spannungsführen-
den Leitung kann auch metallene Geräteteile unter Spannung setzen
und zu einem elektrischen Schlag führen.
k) HaltenSie das Netzkabel vonsich drehenden Einsatz-
werkzeugen fern. Wenn Sie die Kontrolle über das Elektrowerk-
zeug verlieren, kann das Netzkabel durchtrennt oder erfasst werden
und Ihre Hand oder Ihr Arm in das sich drehende Einsatzwerkzeug
geraten.
l) Legen Sie dasElektrowerkzeug niemals ab,bevor das
Einsatzwerkzeug völlig zum Stillstandgekommen ist. Das
sich drehende Einsatzwerkzeug kann in Kontakt mit der Ablageäche
geraten, wodurch Sie die Kontrolle über das Elektrowerkzeug
verlieren können.
m) Lassen Sie das Elektrowerkzeug nicht laufen, während
Siees tragen.Ihre Kleidung kann durch zufälligen Kontakt mit dem
sich drehenden Einsatzwerkzeug erfasst werden und das Einsatz-
werkzeug sich in Ihren Körper bohren.
n) Reinigen Sieregelmäßig die Lüftungsschlitze Ihres
Elektrowerkzeugs.Das Motorgebläse zieht Staub in das Gehäuse,
und eine starke Ansammlung von Metallstaub kann elektrische
Gefahren verursachen.
o) Verwenden Sie das Elektrowerkzeug nicht in derNähe
brennbarer Materialien.Funken können diese Materialien
entzünden.
p) Verwenden Sie keineEinsatzwerkzeuge,die üssige
Kühlmittelerfordern. Die Verwendung von Wasser oder anderen
üssigen Kühlmitteln kann zu einem elektrischen Schlag führen.
Rückschlag und entsprechende Sicherheitshinweise
Rückschlag ist die plötzliche Reaktion infolge eines hakenden oder
blockierten drehenden Einsatzwerkzeugs, wie Schleifscheibe,
Schleifteller, Drahtbürste usw. Verhaken oder Blockieren führt zu
einem abrupten Stopp des rotierenden Einsatzwerkzeugs. Dadurch
wird ein unkontrolliertes Elektrowerkzeug gegen die Drehrichtung
des Einsatzwerkzeugs an der Blockierstelle beschleunigt.
Wenn z. B. eine Schleifscheibe im Werkstück hakt oder blockiert,
kann sich die Kante der Schleifscheibe, die in das Werkstück ein-
taucht, verfangen und dadurch die Schleifscheibe ausbrechen oder
einen Rückschlag verursachen. Die Schleifscheibe bewegt sich dann
auf die Bedienperson zu oder von ihr weg, je nach Drehrichtung
der Scheibe an der Blockierstelle. Hierbei können Schleifscheiben
auch brechen.
Ein Rückschlag ist die Folge eines falschen oder fehlerhaften
Gebrauchs des Elektrowerkzeugs. Er kann durch geeignete
Vorsichtsmaßnahmen, wie nachfolgend beschrieben, verhindert
werden.
a) Halten Sie das Elektrowerkzeug gut fest und bringen Sie
Ihren Körper und Ihre Arme in eine Position, in der Sie die
Rückschlagkräfte abfangen können. Verwenden Sie immer
den Zusatzgri, falls vorhanden, um die größtmögliche
Kontrolle über Rückschlagkräfte oder Reaktionsmomente
beim Hochlauf zu haben. Die Bedienperson kann durch geeignete
Vorsichtsmaßnahmen die Rückschlag- und Reaktionskräfte
beherrschen.
b) Bringen Sie Ihre Hand nie in die Nähe sich drehender Ein-
satzwerkzeuge. Das Einsatzwerkzeug kann sich beim Rückschlag
über Ihre Hand bewegen.
c) Meiden Sie mit Ihrem Körper den Bereich, in den das
Elektrowerkzeug bei einem Rückschlag bewegt wird. Der
Rückschlag treibt das Elektrowerkzeug in die Richtung entgegenge-
setzt zur Bewegung der Schleifscheibe an der Blockierstelle.
d) Arbeiten Sie besonders vorsichtig im Bereich von Ecken,
scharfen Kanten usw. Verhindern Sie, dass Einsatzwerk-
zeuge vom Werkstück zurückprallen und verklemmen. Das
rotierende Einsatzwerkzeug neigt bei Ecken, scharfen Kanten oder
wenn es abprallt dazu, sich zu verklemmen. Dies verursacht einen
Kontrollverlust oder Rückschlag.
e) Verwenden Sie kein Ketten- oder gezähntesSägeblatt.
Solche Einsatzwerkzeuge verursachen häug einen Rückschlag oder
den Verlust der Kontrolle über das Elektrowerkzeug.
Besondere Sicherheitshinweise zum Schleifen und
Trennschleifen:
a) Verwenden Sie ausschließlich die für Ihr Elektrowerkzeug
zugelassenen Schleifkörper und die für diese Schleifkörper
vorgesehene Schutzhaube. Schleifkörper, die nicht für das Elekt-
rowerkzeug vorgesehen sind, können nicht ausreichend abgeschirmt
werden und sind unsicher.
b) Gekröpfte Schleifscheiben müssen so montiert wer-
den,dass ihre Schleiäche nicht über die Ebene desSchutz-
haubenrandes hinausragt. Eine unsachgemäßmontierte
