1.Generaladvice
You haveboughtanairdryermadebyAERIALthusdecidingforaprovenquality
product"MadeinGermany". Ifthereareanyquestions, you will findsomeadvicein
thismanualhowtoeliminatesuchdifficultiesasquicklyaspossible.
ATTENTION:
Immediatelyafterreceipt,youshouldcheckyourairdryerfortransportdamage!In
thecaseof damage, youshouldinformtheforwarding agent, parcelservice, post
officeetc. accordinglyuponreceipt,andmakeanoteofit ontheforwarding
documents!
Ifatransport damageshouldbenoticedafterunpackingtheequipment,please
contactimmediatelyyourrespectivesellerorspecializeddealer.
Beforeputtingyourairdryerintooperationfortheveryfirsttime, theseinstructions
foroperationshouldbestudiedverythoroughly.Thus,you canmakesurethatthis
appliancewill operateperfectlyforalongperiod oftimesavingyourselves
unnecessaryrepairsandexpenses.
Inthecaseofmalfunction disconnectyourapplianceand ensurethatitisnot
connectedagainbytakingthemainsplugout ofthesocket.
Please, keepthedevicewrappinginordertobeabletosend thedevicesafefor
guarantee repair. Inordertosavespaceyouopensimplytheadhesivetapewitha
knifeand youfoldthecarton.
2.Modeoffunctioning
TheAP-airdryerisbuiltparticularlyforairdrying inclosedrooms. Thatdehumidifier
can prevent theformation ofcondensation,eliminatetoohighairhumidityand hold
aspecificairhumidityconstant. Thetimewhichthedryerrequiresinorderto
achieveaspecifichumiditydependsessentiallyontheenvironmentalconditions.
Theattainablehumidityvalueisequallydependent on theenvironmentalconditions.
TheAP-dehumidifierworks according tothecondensationprinciplewithheat
recovery. Thefan(shownindicativelybelow)suck themoistairthroughacool
register(evaporator).Theairbecomessofarchilledunderthe pointof
condensationhere, thatthemoist aircondenseaswaterandflowsintoasump.The
chilledand driedairiswarmedupatthecondenseragain.Throughtheheatpump
effect, theoutletairissomedegreeswarmerthan thesuckedroomair. Useful
energycanconductedupto3-foldof theelectricalpowerconsumption.The
absolutemoistureofairisloweredcontinuouslybythecontinuouscirculationofthe
roomairthrough thedevice.Thesurplusmoistureisremovedsafelyand efficiently.

3. Safety
Thecondensation dryersAP arefurnishedwithprotectivedevices.Thedevices
weresubjectedtoasafetyexamination.Dangersthreateninthecaseofoperating
errororabuse

-fortheefficientworkofthemachine.
Allpersonswhohavetodo withtheinstallation,serviceandmaintenanceofthe
devicesmustbequalifiedcorrespondinglyand considerthisoperatingmanual
precisely.
Using asdirected
Thecondensation dryersareintendedforthedryingof airwithatmospheric
pressure.
Riskbyaccessory
Hosesforcondensateremovalmustbefitexpertlyandmustnottaketheprotective
devicesofthecondensationdryersoutofoperation.Thecontrolelementsmust
alwaysremainfreelyamenable.
Authorizedusers
TheserviceofthecondensationdryersAP mayonlybecarriedout bypersons, that
wereinstructedfromtheoperator.Theuserisresponsibleinthefieldofactionthird
partiescomparedto.
Responsibilitiesfordifferent activitiesonthedevicemustofcoursebedetermined
and kept. Unclearcompetencesareasafetyhazard.
Theoperatormustmaketheoperatinginstructionavailablefortheuserandmake
surethattheuserdidunderstand themanual.

4. Operation conditions
ThedryersoftheAP-seriesaresuitablefortheemploymentinswimmingpool
rooms,butalsoingaragesandstorerooms.
AP-condensationdryersworkproblem-free atthetemperaturerangeof+10to
+32°Candinthecaseofrelativehumidityfrom40%to95%r.h..
AP-condensationdryersareseriallyequippedwiththermicalcontrol„ThermoLogic“.
Thedeviceturnsoff atinadmissibletemperaturesandon againat morepermissibly
temperaturesautomatically.
ATTENTION:
The appliancemustnotbeusedunderthefollowing conditions:
Øinroomsof potentiallyexplosiveatmosphere
Øinroomsof aggressiveatmospheres,forexampleammoniaand woodacid,
highchlorineconcentration.
ØInroomswithwaterwhichshowsapH-value outside of7,0to7,4. Remark: In
The caseoflowerpH-value, corrosion occursatallmetalsand damagesoccurs
at mortarcontaining materials. InthecaseofhigherpH-value, it comesto
irritation ofskinand eyemucousmembraneandextremelimedeposits.
ØInroomswithsalt orsaltyliquids. Salt content>1%(alsosolebaths).
ØInroomsofairtreatedwithozone
Øinroomsfeaturing ahigh concentration ofsolvents
Øinroomsof anextremelyhigh ratioofdust.
Inthecaseofdoubtfuloperatingconditionsitisrecommendedtocontactthe

6. Installation andtransport
TheAP-seriesisplannedforthestationaryeffort.Theunitsareforwall mounted
using.Duringthesetting upandtransportation ofthedehumidifier,thefollowing
itemsaretobeconsidered:
ØThatdehumidifiercanbetransporteduprightorlaidflat! Theupright
transportation istobepreferredif possible. Secureagainsttilting!
ØThatdehumidifiermust beinstalledsothattheaircancirculatewithout
obstructionthroughhim.Theairapertures–alsothedorsal-must notbe
covered. Theopenspacebeforethemaininlet and outlet apertures(frontand
top)must atleastconduct 1meter. Foranoptimalaircirculation itshouldbe
clearlymorethan1mtr.
ØTheappliancemustbeusedexclusivelyforairdrying.
ØThemachineistobefastenedineachcasetoawall.Themounting accessories
providedaretobeused. Themachinemustbealignedwithaspirit levelon all
axlesaccurately.
ATTENTION:
Thedryerisnot suitableasseatfurniture!Damagesbyinappropriatetreatment
and uselead toexpiring theguarantee!
6.1PlaceofInstallation
ATTENTION:
Beforeputtingtheairdryerintooperation,thetechnicaldataoftheappliance
shouldbecomparedtotheconditionsprevailing intheroomofinstallation!
ThesuitablelocationfortheAP-dryershouldhave/ shouldbe with:
ØElectricalconnection230V/50 Hz.
ØAboveand infront ofthedryeratleast1meterfree space,bettermore!
ØDisposalpossibilityfortheresultingcondensate,if necessarywithtrap/siphon.
Select thelocationinsuchawaythattheairofthedryercancirculateasoptimally
aspossibleintheroom.Thedryershouldbefastenedtoawall.Inthecaseof use
directlyontheground,themachinehastobefixed,too.
6.2Fixingatawall
ØMarkthenecessaryboreholesforthemountingbar(lieswith)atthewall.
ØAlignthebartherebywithaspiritlevel.
ØFastenthemountingbarreliablywiththepegsandscrewsprovidedtothewall.

6.3Electrical connection
Beforeconnecting theairdryer,thefollowingitemsmustbechecked:
ØDoesthemainsvoltagecoincidewiththevoltageoftheappliance?(Voltage
atAP 50 and AP70is230V/50 Hz)
ØAdequatefusingofsupplysystem?
ØHastherequiredresidual-current-operatedcircuitbreaker(r.c.c.b)beeninstalled
incaseof swimmingbaths?
ØFortheelectricalconnectionof thedryeristhecoveroftheconnectionboxto
remove(leftaboveonthebackofthedryer,see tofigure4.1-pos.3).
ØBehind ittheconnecting terminalsfor230V/50 Hzareplaced.
ØThemainscableisledbythecableentriesplacedundertheconnectionboxinto
theconnectionbox.(see figure4.1,pos.4)
ØTheconnectionmaytakeplaceonlyviaatrainedelectrician.
6.4Condensateremoval
Atthecondensateconnector(factory-installedleft downatthe machine)the
enclosedhose(15x2mm)hastobefixedwithaclamp.
Lead thehosewithdownwardgradient(atleast5%,i.e. 5cm/permeter)awayfrom
thedryerintoadischarge.
Ø
ØThecondensateconnectorisfactory-installedleftdownat themachine.
Depending onthesituation intheroom, theconnectorcanalsobechangedto
theright sideofthedryer:
oRemovefrontcover(withouttool,pull off simply)
oDownat thefrontyoufind twoscrewsforthecondensatesump.
Removethesescrews.
oRemovethetworubber-plugsat thereversesideoftheunit(see
figure5.1,Pos.8)Removethescrewsbehindtherubber-plugs.
oNowthecondensatesumpcanberemoved.Turnitfromleft to
rightandinsertitback.
oFixthefourscrewsagain(frontandreverseside).Insertthe
rubber-plugsagain.
oFixthefrontcoveragain.
oFixthehosenowatconnectortherightsideasexplainedabove.
ATTENTION:
ØThe endofthehosemustbe situatedlowerthanthebeginningof thehose
(runoff socket)(minimum5cmslope oneachmetre).
ØThehoseend shouldnotbeinwater,sinceitcancomeinsuchawaytoa
waterbackpressureinthehose.
ØThe hosemustneverbe bent!
ØNoobjectsmustbeplaced ontothehose!
ØCheck regularlywhetherthecondensatecanflowoffcertainly. Otherwise,a
newhosemight bemounted.

6.5Addfreshair(option)
ØTheseriesAP isfittedwithanapertureforadditionalair. (Figure5.1-Pos.7)
ØWiththehelpofaflangeD=100mm (optionalaccessories,articleno.6109-
0020)freshaircanbeaddedoverthisopening.Inaddition an appropriatewall
opening (D=80mm)istobecreatedbehindtheequipment,overwhichfresh
airwillthenbesuckedfromoutside
6.6Puttingintooperation
ØAfteratransportandtheinstallationthedryershouldrestinit´sfinalposition for
approx15minutes.Duringthisperiod oftime, theoil insidethe refrigerating
system,that wasfoamed during transportwillreturnintothecompressor.We
recommendthisproceduresinceit extendstheservicelifeof thecompressor.
ØIfthedryerhasbeeninstalledcorrect,it shouldstartautomaticallywithhygrostat
inPos. I andOn-/Off-switchinpos.I(figure5.3). First thecompressorstartsand
afterawhilethefan willalsostart.Thisfunctionistoavoidtohighstarting
current.
6.7Hygrostatcontrol
TheairdryersoftheAP-seriesdisposeofahygrostatforsetting therequired
humidityvalue.Thishygrostatislocatedintheoperationpanel.It makesthat theair
dryercutsinassoonastheambient humidityexceedsthepreset value.If the
humidityvaluefallsbelowthesetvalue,thehygrostatwillswitchofftheunit.
Pos.0=Switchedoff
Pos.1=Continuesworking
80-100%=Thedehumidifierswitchesoff
whenahumidityofapprox.80-
95%r.h.hasachieved. And
switchesonagainwhenhumidity
ishigherthan 80 -95%.
60 -80%=Thedehumidifierswitchesoff
whenahumidityofapprox.60-
80%r.h.hasachieved. And
switchesonagainwhenhumidityishigherthan60-80%.
40 -60%=Thedehumidifierswitchesoff whenahumidityofapprox.40 -60%r.h.
hasachieved. Andswitchesonagainwhenhumidityishigherthan60–
60%r.h.
20 -40%=Thedehumidifierswitchesoff whenahumidityofapprox.20-40%r.h.
hasachieved. Andswitchesonagainwhenhumidityishigherthan20–
40%r.h.
Thesmoothsettingoptionofthehygrostatmakesaveryconvenient humidity
controlpossibleforyou.Ifveryprecisevaluesarerequested,you shouldmatchthe
hygrostat withtheinformationonaprecisehygrometer.

Pleaseconsider:
Humidityvaluesof aminimumof40%-45%r.h.canbeachievedwitha
condensationdryer.Inaswimming poolroomahumidityof approx.60%r.h.is
recommended.
6.8Automaticdefrost
Duringairdrying,icemayformattheevaporator.Thevolumeof icedependson the
ambient conditionsprevailingintheroomtobedried. Theairdryerisequippedwith
an automaticair-defroster. Itensuresthat, depending ontheextent oficeformation,
theappliancewillbedefrostedautomaticallyaccordingtothefollowingprinciple:
ØAtemperaturesensormeasurestheconditionexisting inacriticalareaofthe
evaporator.
ØIttransmitsthesignalfordefrostingtotheDryLogic-electronic. TheDryLogic
findsout ifdefrostingisnecessary,and it willstartdefrost-modeon itsown.
ØDuringdefrostingthefanworksandthecompressordoesnotwork.Thatmeans
theiceisdefrostedbytheambientair.
ØWhen theiceisdefrosted,thedehumidifierwillstartagainwithdehumidifying.
6.9Thermal protection
TheAP-seriesareequippedwiththethermalprotection„ThermoLogic”.The
“ThermoLogic”switchesthecompressoroffiftheambienttemperatureishigher/
lowerthantheallowedworkingrange.(>+32°C/<+3°C).Assoonastheallowed
temperaturehasreached,thecompressorswitchesonagainautomatically.
IftheThermologicswitchedthecompressoroff,thisisindicatedtotheredsignal
lightbypermanentlightingup.
7. Service and maintenance
ATTENTION
When performinganyrepairormaintenance,thegeneralsafetyrulesand
provisionsmust beadheredto!
Inordertoguarantee atroublefree functionof thedryerthedeviceshouldbe
cleanedregularly.Thefollowing procedureisinstead recommended:
ØCheck functionofconnectedhygrostat.
ØSwitchtheunitoff at themainpowerswitch
ØRemovethecover.Notoolisnecessary,pull off simply.Thecovermust beput
downcautiouslyonatendersubsoil thattheydonottoppleoveranditcan not
cometodisadvantagesatthesurface.
ØClean theheatexchangers(evaporatorand condenser) forexamplewitha
brushorwithair. Removethedustfromthelamellae. Attention:Thelamellae
aresharp-edged. Riskofinjury!
ØCheck thedrainandthehose. Makesurethatthecondensatecan flowoff
certainly.
ØMountthecover.
ØClean thecasewithamoisttowel.DonotuseaggressiveDetergent.
ØSwitchonthemainpowerswitch.
Thiscleaningisrequired4xayear!
Noothermaintenanceworkisrequiredfortheairdryer.

9.Troubleshooting
Assignthat dehumidifieraputativedefect on, please, first check thefollowing points.
Ifthisshouldprovidenorelief, pleasecontactyourtechnicalconsultant.
1) Thedehumidifiershowsabadornodrying capacity
-Thehumidityislowerthan40%r.h. orthetemperatureinthatroomislowerthan
+10°C. Theusingofthedryerisuneconomicalinthecaseoftheseconditions.It
isrecommendedtodisconnectthedryer. Tipp:Putthebuilt-inhygrostat onan
attainablevalue(e.g. approx.60%r.F. inswimming poolrooms),withitthedryer
punctuallymayswitchoff.
-Theheat exchangersaresoiled.Not enoughairflowsthroughthedryer. Tipp:
Lead regularlymaintenanceasdescribedinpoint8!
2) Thecompressorofthedehumidifierdoesnot work.
-Theunitisindefrost mode.Inthiscasethefanstill runsand thecompressordoes
notrun. Aftersomeminutes,theunit will start withregularworking.(see 6.8)
-Theambienttemperatureinthat roomislowerthan +3°Corhigherthan+32°C.
Theunit will start againwhenthetemperatureinthatroomhasachievednormal
conditionsbetween+3°Cand+32°C(see 6.9).
3) Thecompletedryerisoutof operation. Fanandcompressordoesnotrun.
-Istheunitsuppliedwithvoltage?Check themaincableandthemainfuse.
-Thehumidityvalueadjustedat thehygrostat isachieved. Thedryerwillstartagain
afterexceeding theadjustedhumidity.(see 6.7)
4) Thehumidityadjustedatthehygrostat doesnotbecomeachieved and/orthe
devicedoesnotswitchoff automatic:
-Isthehygrostatadjustedonavaluelowerthan40–45%r.h.?Humidityvalues
withaminimumof40 %-45%r.h. can beachievedwithacondensationdryer.
Adjustthehygrostattoareachablevalue.(inswimminghallsforexa,ple60%r.h.)
-Istheunitwithenough capacityforyourapplication? Theambienttemperature,
thewatertemperature, watermovementandtheopenwatersurfacesdecide
amongotherthingson thedampnessloadinthearea. Letcalculatethenecessary
capacityfromyourdealer.
-Istherealot ofwaterinthewallsorthefloor?Inthatcasethedryerneedssome
timetoremovethatwaterandtoachievean acceptablehumidityinthatroom
5) Waterrunsbeside thedryer:
-Makesurethatthedryerstandsaccuratelystraightonall axles(spirit level!)
-Makesurethatthedrainhoseissurelyfastenedtohoseconnector.
-Makesurethedrainhoseisshiftedawayfromtheunit withenough slope.
-Examinewhetherthedrainhoseisfree fromtheinside.Inthe courseofthetimeit
can beblockedbyalgae.
-Makesurethatthehoseend isnotinthewater

Theappliancemustberepairedbytrainedandexpert personnelonly. Inthecase
ofinterventionsbyunauthorizedpeople, anyandallwarrantyclaimsshallbecome
nulland void!
