Fixing and Maintenance Instructions
1. Introduction
Thank ou for deciding to purchase the Constella Perching Stool from Aidapt. The Constella
Perching Stool range is manufactured from the finest material and components available,
when installed and used correctl it is designed to give man ears of reliable trouble-free
service. The Constella Perching Stool is available with plain or padded back.
2. Before Installation
Please examine the item for an visible damage before use. If ou see an damage or suspect a
fault, please do not use the product, but contact our supplier immediatel for support. Please
dispose of all packaging carefull .
3. Height Adjustment
Remove the ‘E’ clip from the extension leg and extend all legs evenl to the desired height
ensuring ou do not exceed the last punched hole of the extension leg. (see fig. 1)
Once ou have achieved the desired height; reinstall the ‘E’ clip, ensuring that it has passed
through the extension leg and that it fits neatl and snugl around the outside leg. (see fig. 2)
Note the perching stool is designed to slant to the front. Do not adjust any of the
legs to make the seat level as this will cause excessive stress to the legs
compromising user safety and possibly leading to permanent damage of the
perching stool, including fracture of the tubular and other sections.
4. Removing or Installing the Arms/Back
Back: Carefull remove both standard ‘E’ Clips b lifting upwards and clear of the
tube and slide out the back.
To assemble the Constella back to the seat frame, check for an squashing to the end
of the tube sections of the back. If the tube sections of the back are full round, slide
the main section of the back assembl into the stool itself. Fix both ‘E’ Clips in place.
Arms: Carefull remove both standard ‘E’ Clips b pulling downwards and clear of
the tube and slide out the arms.
To assemble the arms first check for an squashing to the end of the tube sections of
the arms. If the tube sections of the arms are full round, slide the main section of the
arms assembl into the stool itself.
Do not attempt to use an arm or back if you see that any part of the tube
is partially or totally flattened or damaged.
5. Use of the Perching Stool
When moving, alwa s lift the perching stool b placing our hands on the tubular
metal frame beneath the seat.
Do not allow children or unauthorised persons to play with or use the
stool.
Do not rock back and forth or sideways when using the stool as this will
cause excessive stress and possible damage and failure, which may cause
injury.
Do not use the perching outside the home or on uneven surfaces (such as
in the garden as this will cause stress to the legs and possible damage,
which may cause injury.
Do not place fingers or foreign objects into any of the exposed tubular
sections as this can lead to serious injury.

6. Cleaning
Prior to cleaning remove all pin clips, the four extension legs with the ferrules fitted and
the detachable back and arms. Clean all these items separatel to the main frame.
Clean the upholster using a non-abrasive cleaner or mild detergent with a soft cloth.
Abrasive cleaners e.g. AJAX and/ or abrasive cleaning pads will seriousl damage the
upholster be ond repair.
Once ou have cleaned our Constella Perching Stool, properl drain the frame of an
residual fluids, failure to do this can cause the frame to rust prematurel . You ma notice
a brown slush fluid draining, this is normal; it does not mean the stool is rusting – it is
simpl the oil coating coming out from inside the tube.
Once ou have dried out the frame, use a water dispersing agent to the internal tubes to
lubricate, concentrating in particular on the leg and back sections.
To reassemble follow the instructions in sections 2 to 3 above.
7. Composition
The Constella perching stools are made from mild steel PPA/ epox coated with
upholstered CMHR foam and fire retardant vin l seats or contoured pol urethane
seats/back (if applicable).The removable, adjustable legs are made from allo or mild
steel, which is generall treated to reduce premature rusting.
8. Reissue
If ou reissue or are about to reissue this product, please thoroughl check all
components for their safet .
This includes:
•Tightness of all nuts/bolts/castors and other screw in/bolt in/push in
components.
•Also check all upholster (if applicable) for securit , splits, exposed staples, etc.
If in an doubt, please do not issue or use, but immediatel contact our supplier for
service support.
When reissuing, a risk assessment ma be required as to the suitabilit of the chair for a
particular user.
