besonders die Hinweise, die den sicheren Umgang mit dem Gerät betreffen.
Änderungen im Interesse der technischen Weiterentwicklung bleiben vorbehalten; die
Gebrauchsanweisung unterliegt nicht dem Änderungsdienst.

1.4 Voraussetzungen für den sicheren Betrieb
Bitte machen Sie sich vor der Inbetriebnahme Ihres Gerätes mit dem Inhalt dieser
Gebrauchsanweisung gründlich vertraut.
oDie richtige Bedienung des RC 500 Aufwach- & Transportstuhles ist für den sicheren Betrieb
unerlässlich.
oDer RC 500 Aufwach- & Transportstuhl muss im Rahmen des bestimmungsgemäßen
Gebrauches benutzt werden.
oDer RC 500 Aufwach- & Transportstuhl darf nicht in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen
benutzt werden. Der Betrieb in Gegenwart von brennbaren Narkosemitteln und flüchtigen
Lösungsmitteln wie Alkohol, Benzin oder ähnlichem ist, bis auf Kleinstmengen, untersagt.
oDer RC 500 Aufwach- & Transportstuhl darf nicht in feuchten Räumen und keinesfalls in
Räumen mit Tropf-, Schwall- oder Spritzwasser stationiert werden.
oÄnderungen und Instandsetzung an diesem Transportstuhl dürfen nur durch vom Hersteller
bevollmächtigtes Personal durchgeführt werden.
oDie in der Gebrauchsanweisung hervorgehobenen Sicherheitshinweise und Informationen
sind mit besonderer Aufmerksamkeit zu lesen und zu beachten.
oDie Bedienung des RC 500 Aufwach- & Transportstuhles sollte nur durch ausgebildete oder
eingewiesene Personen erfolgen.
oDer RC 500 Aufwach- & Transportstuhl darf nur durch vom Hersteller bevollmächtigte
Personen geöffnet werden.
2Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
Der Aufwach- & Transportstuhl RC 500 ist für Lagerung und Transport von Menschen bestimmt. Eine
andere Verwendung als die angegebene ist nicht zulässig.
oDer Aufwach- & Transportstuhl RC 500 ist für eine max. Last von 200 kg (EN 60601-1
Allgemeine Anforderungen für die Sicherheit von Operationstischen) ausgelegt.
oDas Produkt ist geeignet, in unmittelbarer Patientenumgebung eingesetzt zu werden.

3Gerätebeschreibung und Bedienelemente
3.1 Einstellknopf Rückenlehne
Die Rückenlehnenverstellung wird durch Drücken des Metallknopfes auf der Oberseite der
Rückenlehne ausgelöst. Beide Richtungen, rauf und runter, werden durch Drücken des Knopfes
ermöglicht.
3.2 Fußstütze
Die Fußstütze ist separat zur Rückenlehne bewegbar. Die Fußstütze rastet bei anheben in der
Rasterung ein. Mittels Hebel lässt sich die Fußstütze aus der Rasterung lösen.
Vor Bewegung der Rückenlehne in die Horizontale die Fußstütze immer in die unterste
Einrastposition stellen.

3.3 Bremsen
Der Stuhl besitzt auf jeder Seite eine Feststellbremse und an beiden Hinterrädern jeweils eine
Sicherungsbremse.
Die Feststellbremse besitzt die Stellungen:
- beide Vorderräder gebremst
- beide Vorderräder frei
Die Sicherungsbremsen besitzen die Stellungen:
- Rad gebremst
- Rad frei
Die Sicherungsbremsen blockieren das jeweilige Rad nicht in der Rotation um die vertikale Achse.
4Bedienung des Stuhls
4.1 Einstellung der Armlehnen
Zum erleichterten Einstieg lassen sich beide Armlehnen einzeln durch Anheben in eine senkrechte
Position bringen. Durch manuelles Runterklappen lassen sich die Armlehen wieder in die
Ausgangsposition bringen.

4.2 Einstellung der Rückenlehne
Die Rückenlehne ist stufenlos in einem Winkel von senkrecht bis waagerecht einstellbar. Durch Druck
auf den „Einstellknopf Rückenlehne“ wird eine Gasdruckfeder entriegelt und die Rückenlehne kann
bewegt werden. Die Rückenlehne ist bis maximal 5° absenkbar.
4.3 Einstellung der Fußstütze
Die Fußstütze ist in 4 Stufen von senkrecht bis waagerecht einstellbar. Durch Anheben wird die
Fußstütze in die Waagerechte bewegt. Das Absenken erfolgt über die Bedienung des „Hebel
Fußstütze“. Dazu wird der Hebel angehoben und die Fußstütze manuell abgesenkt.

5Zubehör
Der RC 500 Aufwach- & Transportstuhl ist entlang der Armlehne max. 10 kg und Sitzfläche mit
Geräteschienen für die Befestigung von Zubehörteilen wie Infusionsständer und
Mehrgelenksarmstützen optional ausrüstbar. Für die Befestigung solcher Zubehörteile den
Spannkloben auf sicheren Sitz prüfen.
6Reinigung / Desinfektion
oDer Stuhl ist mindestens resistent gegen die üblichen Desinfektionsmittel gemäß
DGHM (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Hygiene und Mikrobiologie) Liste.

oDer Stuhl ist nicht sterilisierfähig
oDie Reinigung der Lackoberflächen erfolgt mit einem feuchten (nicht nassem) Tuch, bei
hartnäckigen Verschmutzungen nicht schleifende und nicht aggressive Reinigungsmittel
verwenden. Keinen Äther, Aceton oder konzentrierte Säuren für die Reinigung der
Lackflächen benutzen.
oVerschmutzte Polsterflächen feucht (nicht nass) abwischen oder übliche
Polsterreinigungsmittel benutzen.

before operating. Please pay attention to all cautionary statements pertaining to the safe operation
of the RC 500. Please keep the manual on file at all times while the product is in service.

1.5 User instructions for safe operation
Before using this medical device, please carefully read and observe the safety instructions and
recommendations listed in this manual
oTo safely use and operate the medical device, use only as directed.
oOperation of the medical device only in accordance with the intended use.
oDo not operate the medical device in explosive or hazardous environments. The medical
device must not be operated, with the exception of very minute quantities, in the presence
of combustible anesthetics, or volatile solvents like alcohol, benzene or the like.
oDo not set up the medical device in humid or damp rooms. Never expose the product to
sprinkling, dripping or splashing water.
oModifications, authorized by manufacturer, may only be performed by staff authorized by
manufacturer. Any modification non authorized or instructed by manufacturer may cause
malfunctions or hazards to persons.
oMaintenance or repair work on this product may only be performed by staff authorized by
manufacturer.
oPay special attention to any emphasized safety instruction or information in this user
manual.
oOnly trained and authorized staff may operate the medical device.

2Intended use
The RC 500 is intended for use as a recovery chair. Any other use of the product is not permitted.
oThe RC 500 is designed for a maximum patient weight of 200 kg (440 lbs) (EN 60601-1
general requirements for safety of operating tables).
oThe chair is suitable to be employed in the immediate proximity of patients.

3Product description and controls
3.1 Adjustment of back rest
Pressing the metal button on top of the back rest releases the gas spring and allows moving the back
rest infinitely up or down. Releasing the button will lock the back rest in its current position.
3.2 Foot rest
The foot rest is moveable separately from the back rest. The foot rest is adjusted on a notched bar. It
is released by using the lever.
Before moving the back rest downwards, always adjust the foot rest to its lowest position on the
notched bar.

3.3 Brakes
The front wheel brakes are locked and unlocked by foot operated pedals on either side of the chair.
In addition, the rear wheels feature a safety brake each.
The two settings for the locking brake are:
-Front wheels locked

The two settings for the safety brake are:

-Wheel unlocked
The safety brake locks the wheel not the castor.
4Operation of chair
4.1 Adjustment arm rest
Both arm rests fold away upwards for easy entry.

4.2 Adjustment back rest
The back rest is infinitely adjustable from vertical to horizontal (maximum 5°). Pressing the ‘button
back rest’ on top of the head rest unlocks the pneumatic gas spring and the back rest will gently
move up or down.
4.3 Adjustment foot rest
The foot rest is adjustable in 4 increments from vertical to horizontal. Pull the foot rest upwards to
get it horizontal. Secure the foot rest, pull the ‚lever foot rest‘ and move it downwards by hand
gently.

5Accessories
As an option the RC 500 features stainless steel rails alongside the arm rest and the seat cushion to
attach accessories like an IV-pole and a multi-articulated arm rest. Make sure to secure blocks
properly when attaching any equipment to the side rails.
6Cleaning and contamination protection
oContamination protection
In order to protect the product against contamination by liquids, body liquids or other
unwanted substances it is recommended to, while in use, cover the product with a non
sterile disposable impermeable cover sheet.
oSurfaces are resistant to all commonly used disinfectants as listed in the
D G H M (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Hygiene und Mikrobiologie) list. www.dghm.org
oDo not attempt to sterilize the RC 500
oClean only the external surfaces of the equipment using a damp cloth. In case of heavy stains
do not use abrasive or aggressive materials other than common cleansers or detergents. Do
not use ether, acetone or concentrated acids.
oNo water or cleaning detergents may enter the inside of the equipment.
oTo clean soiled upholstery surfaces, use a damp cloth and/or commonly used upholstery
spray.
oBefore resuming operation, allow sufficient time to dry.
7Maintenance
The chair is maintenance-free to users and operators.
Product is subject to the regular service intervals. Refer to the current issue of local (national)
“Minimum requirements for medical products class I”.
