When using electrical appliances, basic safety precauons should always
be followed, including the following:

1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.
2. Use only with AC 110-120 Volt, 50/60 Hz
3. DO NOT touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
4. To protect against electrical shock do not immerse the cord, plug, temperature controller or the
appliance in water or other liquids.
5. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
6. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before pung on or taking
o parts and before cleaning the appliance.
7. DO NOT operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or aer the appliance malfuncons or
has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for
examinaon, repair, or adjustment.
8. Do not use outdoors or for commercial purposes.
9. The use of accessory aachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in
re, electric shock or cause injury.
10. DO NOT let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
11. DO NOT place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
12. DO NOT use the appliance for other than intended use.
13. Always aach the plug to the appliance rst, and then plug cord into the wall outlet. To
disconnect, turn any control to “OFF”, then remove the plug from wall outlet.
14. Do not intend to operate by means of an external mer or separate remote-control system.
15. Extreme cauon must be exercised when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot
liquids.
16. Do not use on plasc or synthec tablecloths or any unstable place or near ammable goods
including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, as re may occur.
17. Never impact this unit or drop from high place.
18. DO NOT touch the plate surface while in use or before cooling down, even when the power is
switched to the “OFF” posion.
19. DO NOT touch the stainless steel cover during use. HOT SURFACE!
20. Do not use metal utensils on the cooking plate, as they will scratch the non-sck coang.

Before the rst use
• Before using the appliance for the rst me, remove and peel o any promoonal and packaging
materials. Check that the cooking plates are clean and free of dust.
• Clean the Grill and the accessories (See “Cleaning and Care”). It is recommended to heat the grill
for about 10 minutes without any foodstu on its surfaces. This helps to eliminate any grease that
may have adhered during manufacturing and to eliminate the “new” appliance smell.
• Venlate the room during this period. When your grill is heated for the rst me, it may emit slight
smoke or odor. This is normal with many heang appliances. This does not aect the safety of your
appliance.
Operation
• Place the unit on a at, dry, and heat resistant surface.
• With the thermostat set to “Min”, plug the appliance in. The red “Power” light will light up.
• Posion the fat collecng tray near the spout on the side of the appliance.
• Turn the thermostat knob to the desired temperature level. The “Max” level is beer aimed for
searing or grilling meat. For Paninis or sandwiches, we recommend a medium seng. For reheang,
a low temperature seng is recommended.
• Preheat the grill to reach the ideal cooking temperature. When the appliance reaches the desired
temperature, the green pilot light will light up. In order to preheat faster, keep the plates of the
appliance closed. Once the target temperature is reached, open the grids to avoid overheang of the
unit.
• Apply a lile oil or a non-sck cooking spray on the cooking plate if needed. The food can then be
placed on the grill.
Polarized plug instructions
This appliance is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the
risk of electric shock, this plug will t into the polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not
properly t into the outlet at rst, reverse it. If it sll does not t, contact a competent qualied
electrician. Do not aempt to modify the plug in any way.
Short cord instructions
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulng from becoming entangled in,
or tripping over a longer cord. Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use.
• The electrical rang of the extension cord should be at least that of the appliance. If the electrical
rang of the extension cord is too low, it could overheat and burn.
• The resulng extended cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or
tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.

To use as a contact grill
Use the Grill as a contact grill to cook burgers, boneless pieces of meat and thin cuts of meat and
vegetables.
• Set the thermostat knob to your desired seng. At rst, try a seng in the “max” seng. You
may later adjust it lower or higher according to your preference.
• Prepare the burgers, boneless pieces of meat and thin cuts of meat or other foods as directed
and, using oven mis and heat-resistant wooden or plascs utensils, place onto the boom
cooking plate.
• Close the top cooking plate, which is equipped with a oang hinge that is designed to evenly
press down on the food. The top plate must be fully lowered to achieve grill marks on the
selected foods.
Important! Make sure to close the top cooking plate when grilling!
• When grilling is nished, set temperature to “Min”, unplug the appliance and leave it open to
allow it to cool down.
To use as sandwich press
Use the Grill as press grill to grill sandwiches, breads and quesadillas.
• Set the thermostat knob to your desired seng. At rst, try a medium seng. You may later
adjust it lower or higher according to your preference.
• Prepare the sandwiches and, using oven mis and heat-resistant wooden or plascs utensils,
place them onto the boom cooking plate. Always place the sandwiches towards the rear of the
boom cooking plate rst.
• Close the top cooking plate, which is equipped with a oang hinge that is designed to evenly
press down on the sandwich. The top plate must be fully lowered to cook sandwiches.
• Cook for about 3 to 6 minutes or unl golden brown, adjusng the me to suit your own
individual taste.
• When the sandwich is cooked, use the handle to open the lid. Remove the sandwich with the
help of a heat-resistant plasc or wooden spatula. Never use metal tongs or a knife as these can
cause damage to the non-sck coang of the cook plates.
• To ensure proper and uniform grilling, when cooking more than one food item on the grill, it is
important for the thickness of all food items to be consistent, so that the cover will close evenly
on the food.
Important! Make sure to close the top cooking plate when grilling!
• When grilling is nished, set temperature to “Min”, unplug the appliance and leave it open to
allow it to cool down.

Practical hints
Cleaning and care
• Frozen food should always be thawed before it is grilled.
• To grill meat, turn the thermostat to the maximum posion and preheat the grill. For other
ingredients, choose the temperature accordingly.
• If you grill vegetables, sh or lean meat, add a lile oil on the grids or spray the grilling surface
with a non-sck cooking spray. If you are grilling meat with any amount of fat, or if the food has been
marinated, there is no need to treat the grill prior to cooking.
• Put in “MIN” posion, pull the plug from the power socket and let the appliance cool down
completely before cleaning it.
• Clean the grill plates with a damp cloth, sponge or paper towel.
• Do not use anything abrasive that can scratch or damage the non-sck coang.
• Do not use hard, sharp utensils. If the grill plates are very dirty, use a mild dish detergent. Rinse
with hot water on a sponge or towel and dry the plates carefully. Cleaning is best achieved when the
grill plates are sll slightly warm.
• To clean the housing, use a damp cloth with mild surface cleaning detergent, if necessary.
• The drip tray can be washed in the sink with warm soapy water.
• Make sure no water or other liquid penetrates into the appliance.
• DO NOT place in the dishwasher
• NEVER clean or rinse the appliance under running water.
• Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representave.
Do NOT immerse in water or any other liquid.
• Always unplug the grill before storage.
• Always make sure the grill is cool and dry before storing.
• The power cord can be wrapped around at the back of the appliance for storage.
• The locking latch on the right side arm of the handle enables you to lock the upper plate in closed
posion and then store the grill conveniently in a vercal posion. The grill can also be stored in a
horizontal posion.
