Before first use
1. Unpack the food dehydrator from the box and remove any packaging such as
plastic, cardboard and/or styrofoam.
2. Wash all the dehydrator trays and lid in warm soapy water. Rinse well and dry
thoroughly.
3. Wipe the dehydrator base with a clean and dry soft cloth or sponge. NEVER
IMMERSE THE FOOD DEHYDRATOR BASE IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
NOTE: After wiping down all parts of the appliance, the unit must be run for 30
minutes without placing any food for drying during this period. Any smoke or smells
produced during this procedure are normal. Please ensure sufficient ventilation. After
running for 30 minutes, rinse the racks in water and dry them thoroughly. This act is
only necessary before the first use. DO NOT WASH THE BASE!!
NOTE: All parts are not dishwasher safe.
DO NOT USE ANY ABRASIVE MATERIAL TO CLEAN THE SURFACE

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be
followed.
PLEASE READ AND SAVE ALL
INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE
FOOD DEHYDRATOR.
KEEP AWAY FROM WATER!
1. DANGER! Avoid touching heating coil area!
2. DO NOT touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. This unit features an automatic fan which circulates warm air, producing a
nice evenly dried item.
4. Always operate the dehydrator on a solid, level, flat surface.
5. DO NOT immerse cord, plugs, or the base assembly in water or other liquids.
Protect yourself from electrical hazards.
6. DO NOT use outdoors. For household use only.
7. DO NOT use while standing in a damp area.
8. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is being used by or near
children. This Food Dehydrator is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their
safety.
9. DO NOT operate the dehydrator with a damaged power cord or plug or after
it has malfunctioned or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Contact
customer service.
10. When not in use (and before cleaning), the dehydrator should be unplugged
from the outlet. Allow to cool thoroughly before removing or replacing parts.
11. Always plug into wall outlet first, then turn to ON. To disconnect, turn control
to OFF, then remove plug from the wall outlet.
12. DO NOT let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter or touch
any hot surface.
13. DO NOT use the dehydrator for other than intended use.

14. DO NOT use wax paper on the trays. It is too thick and will block the heat.
15. DO NOT place the dehydrator on or near hot gas or electric burner, or in a
heated oven.
16. Extreme caution must be used when moving any appliance containing hot oil
or other hot liquids or food.
17. Keep out of reach of children. This is not a toy!
18. Parchment paper may be used. However, slits will need to be cut into the
paper.
19. The use of accessory attachments NOT recommended by the manufacturer
may cause injuries or damage to the food dehydrator.
20. Wash all trays and lid before each use to prevent food contamination.
21. To clean the bottom, unplug the unit from the outlet, allow it to cool
completely and then wipe with a damp cloth. DO NOT REMOVE THE HEATING
ELEMENT FOR CLEANING. To clean trays or lid, use sponge and mild soap. DO
NOT put in a dishwasher.
22. DO NOT pour liquids into the food dehydrator.
23. ATTENTION! Do not run the appliance for more than 20 hours in one
single use. After 19.5 hours, turn switch to ‘O’ position. Unplug and let it cool
down for at least 2 hours before operating again.
24. The power cord cannot be squeezed by something heavy or sharp, otherwise it
could cause a fire or electric shock.
25. The temperature of accessible surface may be HOT when the appliance is
operating.
26. Avoid contact with moving parts. Keep hands, hair, clothing, spatulas and
other utensils away during operation to reduce the risk of injury to persons
and/or damage to the machine.
27. DO NOT operate with an external timer or remote-control device.
28. DO NOT use this dehydrator with an extension cord unless this cord has been
checked by a qualified technician or service person.
29. DO NOT use with wet hands.
30. DO NOT use the dehydrator near baths, basins, or other vessels containing
water or other liquids. Don’t keep or store this appliance in a watery or damp
environment.
31. In the event the dehydrator is dropped in water or any other liquid, unplug
immediately. DO NOT reach into the water to retrieve it.
32. Never operate near combustible or pressurized spray cans.
33. Only connect the dehydrator if the line voltage of the outlet corresponds to
the rating plate specification.

34. Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and touch
electrical parts, creating a risk of electric shock.

WARNING: Read and understand all instructions. Failure to follow all instructions

listed below may result in electric shock, fire or serious personal injury. The

warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot

cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood

by the operator that common sense and caution are a factor which cannot be

built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.

CAUTION: A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of personal
11
injury resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.

Extension cords are available from local hardware stores and may be used if care
13
is exercised in their use. If an extension cord is required, special care and caution
14
is necessary. Also, the cord must be: (1) marked with an electrical rating of 125V,
15
and at least 13 A., 1625 W., and (2) the cord must be arranged so that it will not
16
drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or
17
tripped over accidentally.

•This dehydrator has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).

•As a safety feature to reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended

to fit in a polarized outlet only one way.

•If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug.

defeat this safety feature.

If electric circuit is overloaded with other appliances, your dehydrator may not

operate properly. The dehydrator should be operated on a separate electrical

circuit from other operating appliances.

Safety warning
Although the food dehydrator is easy to operate, for your safety, the warnings
below must be followed:
1. Do not place the dehydrator near a heat source.
2. Never leave the dehydrator unattended while connected to the electrical
outlet.
3. Use the dehydrator on a stable work surface away from water.
4. Do not unplug from the wall outlet by pulling on the supply cord.
5. The dehydrator must be unplugged:
A. After each use.
B. If it appears to be faulty.
C. Before cleaning or maintenance.

User instructions
1. Make sure that the dehydrator is on a solid, level, flat surface and that the unit is
turned to the OFF position and unplugged before preparing to use.
2. It is advisable to peel, pit or core some fruits or vegetables. Wash all fresh food
thoroughly to remove any dirt or chemicals.
3. Wash all trays and lid before each use to prevent food contamination.
4. Slice most foods thin –about ¼” and place on trays. Do not overload or overlap food
on the trays. NOTE: Always start to load the food from the bottom tray to the top
tray. DO NOT use wax paper on the trays. It is too thick and will block the heat.
Parchment paper may be used. However, slits will need to be cut into the paper.
5. Stack the trays with food to be dehydrated on the base with the clips of the trays
facing down towards the base.
6. The height between the individual trays can be increased from 1 to 2 inches by placing
the clip of the upper tray on top of the clip rest on the lower tray to stack. This makes
it possible to load thicker food.
7. Plug the power supply cord into the power outlet.
8. Place the vented cover on the top tray to allow moisture to escape. It is
recommended to stack at least 3 trays, whether there is food on them or not. Adjust
to desired temperature setting. NOTE: Set to low temperature for thin/small pieces or
for a smaller load of food. Set to a higher temperature for drying thick/big pieces and
larger loads.
9. Switch the power button to the “I” position and the indicator light will illuminate.
10. During the dehydration process, rotate and turn the trays every few hours.
11. Switch the power button to the “O” position when finished drying the food. Remove
food when it looks and feels dry. Unplug dehydrator from the wall outlet.
12. Place food in airtight containers, jars or sealed plastic bags.
