The d41 Handset is designed to be used in office environment. It
is intended for telephony and has high quality voice. For detailed
information, see
User Manual, Ascom d41, TD92582GB.

Switch the handset on/off
Press and hold the On-Hook key until the dialogue window
“Switch on/off?” is displayed, press “Yes”/”No”.
Make a call
Dialling can be made in the following ways:
• In standby mode, dial the number and press the Off-hook key
, or the Soft key “Call”.
• Press the Off-hook key and select number from the Call list.
• Dial a number from the local phonebook. Enter the Contacts
menu, select “Call contact” and select the name from the list,
press “Call” or the Off-hook key .

• Dial a number from the Central phonebook*. Enter the
Contacts menu, select Central phonebook > search by name/
number/last result, and press search. Press Off-hook key ,
or the Soft key “Call”.

Answer/End a call
When the ring signal sounds; press the Off-hook key to
answer.
To end the call, press the On-hook key .
Reject a call
When the ring signal sounds; press the On-hook key . Call
information will be stored in the Call list.
Turn loudspeaking function on/off
During a call, press the left Soft key to turn the loudspeaking
function on/off.
Turn audio signals on/off
In stand-by mode a long press on the Sound off key , or a
press on the mute button changes between audio signals on/
off. The “Sound off” icon indicates a completely silenced
handset.
• A short press on the Sound off key or a press on the
mute button before answering a call, silences the ring signal.
Lock/Unlock the keypad manually
Press the *-key to lock/unlock and then Soft key "Lock/
Yes”. The “Locked keypad” icon indicates a locked keypad.
Change the volume during a call
Use Navigation key to adjust the volume.
Charge the battery
Charging is done in a desktop charger or in a charging rack.
Charging is indicated by orange LED. When the battery is fully
charged the LED isgreen and a fully charged “Battery” icon
is displayed.
While in a desktop charger the handset is fully operational. The
handset does not vibrate in charger.

Note: Charging below 5°C willharm the battery andshorten the
lifetime.
Remove the battery
It is recommended to switch off the handset before removing the
battery.
Receive a text message*
The message is displayed at once in a dialogue window.

Check voice mail
A new voice mail is indicated by a beep sound, the Voice Mail
icon , and the message in the dialogue window.
To check the voice mail(s), do the following:
Press “Call“ from the dialogue window, or press digit key “1“
when in standby mode.
Note: In case the following message is shown: “Voice mail
number not defined”, the voice mail number needs to be
configured to the voice mail button. Contact your system
administrator.
Follow the given instruction in the Voice Mail.

Menu icons
Navigate the menu
Use the Navigation key to move around in the menu structure.
The menus are; “Calls”, “Contacts”, and “Settings”.
The three Soft keys below the display are used for choices in
the menu. The function of each Soft key is explained by text in
the soft key field in the display.
Use the local phonebook
To find and call a name: Enter “Contacts” , step to “Call
contact” and press “Select”. Enter the first letter in the name
or the whole name (will be displayed in Search field while
entering text), or step in the contact list. Select the name and
press “Call”.
To edit the contact: Select “Edit contact”, select the name and
press “Edit” twice. Make your changes, press “OK” and then
press “Save”.
To add a contact, select“Add contact”, select “New” or “From
call list”. Press “Add”, enter the name and press “OK”. Select
“Number”, enter the number, press “OK” and press “Save”.
To delete a contact: select ”Delete contact”, select the name,
press “Delete”, and then press “Yes”.
Use the central phonebook
Enter “Contacts” , and select “Central phonebook”. Select
“Search by name”, “Search by number”, or “Last result”.
Enter the first letter(s) in the firstname, and/or the first letter(s)

in the family name. Press “Search”. The Central phonebook will
be searched and a list of matching names will be displayed. You
can step to the next entry in alphabetic order by pressing the
Navigation key. Press “More” to add contact, or press “Call” or
the Off-hook key to make the call.
Use the company phonebook
To find and call a name: Enter “Contacts” , step to “Call
contact” and press “Select”. Enter the first letter in the name or
the whole name (will be displayed in Search field while entering
text), or step in the contact list. A contact from the company
phonebook is marked with the symbol, which means that it
is not editable. Select the name and press “Call”.
Turn the automatic keypad lock on/off
Enter “Settings” , and step to “Locks”. Select “Automatic
key lock Off/On”, select “On/Off”, and press “Back”. A locked
keypad is indicated by the “Key lock” icon .
To unlock,press the *-key, and then the Softkey "Yes”.

Safety Instructions
For safe and efficient operation of the handset, observe the
guidelines given in this Quick Reference Guide and all
necessary safety precautions when using the handset. Follow
the operating instructions and adhere to all warnings and
safety precautions located on the product, and the User
Manual.
This product shall only be used with the following batteries:

Battery
• Do not immerse the battery into water. This could short-
circuit and damage the battery.
• Do not expose a battery to an open flame. This could cause
the battery to explode.
• Do not allow the metal contacts on the battery to touch
another metal object. This could short-circuit and damage
the battery.
• Do not leave a battery where it could be subjected to
extremely high temperatures, such as inside a car on a hot
day.
• Use the Desktop Charger or the wall mounted Charging
Rack for charging. Charge the battery for at least one hour
the first time you use the battery.
• For better performance and longer life cycle it is
recommended to charge the battery between
+5 ºC (+41 ºF) to +40 ºC (+104 ºF). Charging beyond these
conditions may impair the battery performance and

shorten the life cycle.
• Do not attempt to take a battery apart.
• It is recommeded to power the handset off before
removing the battery.
Battery disposal
Defective batteries must be returned to a collection point for
chemical waste disposal.

handset has also been tested when worn on the body using

Use of non-Ascom approved accessories may violate the FCC
RF exposure guidelines and should be avoided.

Environmental Requirements
Cordless Handset
• Only use the handset in temperatures between 0 ºC to +40
ºC (32 ºF to +104 ºF).
• Avoid exposing the handset for direct sunlight or close to
other heat sources.
• Do not expose the handset to open flame.
• Keep the handset away from excessive heat and moisture.
• Avoid sudden temperature changes to prevent
condensation in the handset. It is recommended to put the
handset into an air tight plastic bag until the temperature is
adjusted, for example, when entering or leaving a cold/
heated building on a warm/cold day.
• Protect your handset from aggressive liquids and vapours.
• If the handset has been exposed for water or condense,
remove the battery immediately and let it dry completely
before re-inserting the battery.
• Keep the handset away from strong electromagnetic fields.
• Do not place a cold handset in a charger.

Allumer/éteindre le combiné
Appuyez et maintenez la touche Raccroché jusqu'à ce que la
fenêtre de dialogue « Allumer/Éteindre ? » apparaisse, puis
appuyez sur « Oui »/ « Non ».
Passer un appel
Un appel peut être établi de plusieurs manières :
• En mode veille, composez le numéro et appuyez sur la touche
Décroché , ou sur la touche Fonction « Appel ».

• Appuyez sur la touche Décroché et sélectionnez un
numéro dans Liste Appels.
• Composez un numéro contenu dans l'annuaire local. Entrez
dans le menu Contacts, sélectionnez « Appeler contact »
puis sélectionnez le nom dans la liste. Appuyez sur
« Appeler » ou sur la touche « Décroché » .
• Composez un numéro contenu dans l'annuaire centralisé*.
Entrez dans le menu Contacts, sélectionnez Annu. centralisé >
recherchez par nom/numéro/dernier résultat, puis appuyez sur
Recher. Appuyez sur la touche Décroché , ou sur la touche
Fonction « Appeler ».

Répondre/Terminer un appel
Lorsque la sonnerie retentit, appuyez sur la touche Décroché
pour répondre.
Pour terminer un appel, appuyez sur la touche Raccroché .
Rejeter un appel
Lorsque la sonnerie retentit, appuyez sur la touche Raccroché
. L'information concernant l'appel sera enregistrée dans la
Liste Appels.
Allumer/éteindre le haut-parleur intégré
Durant un appel, appuyez sur la touche Fonction pour allumer/
éteindre le haut-parleur intégré.
Allumer/éteindre les signaux audio
En mode veille, une pression longue sur le bouton Silence ,
ou une pression sur le bouton Mute active ou désactive les
signaux audio. Le pictogramme « Silence » indique que le
combiné est complètement silencieux.
• Une pression brève sur le bouton Silence ou une
pression sur le bouton Mute avant de répondre à un appel,
supprime la sonnerie d’un appel entrant.
Verrouiller/Déverrouiller manuellement le clavier
Appuyez sur la touche * pour verrouiller/déverrouiller puis sur
la touche Fonction « Verrouiller/Oui ». Le pictogramme

« Clavier verrouillé » s'affiche pour indiquer que le clavier est
verrouillé.
Moduler le volume durant un appel
Utilisez la touche Navigation pour régler le volume.
Charger la batterie
Le chargement s’effectue avec un chargeur de bureau ou un rack
de charge. Une LED orange indique que l'appareil est en charge.
La LED passe au vert pour indiquer que la charge est complète.
Le pictogramme « Batterie » plein apparaît sur l'écran.
Le combiné est intégralement opérationnel dans le chargeur de
bureau. Le combiné ne vibre pas lorsqu'il est dans un chargeur.
Remarque : Une charge de batterie en-dessous de 5°C a pour
effet d'endommager la batterie et d'écourter sa durée de vie.
Retirer la batterie
Il est recommandé d'éteindre le combiné avant de déposer la
batterie.
Recevoir un message texte*
Le message apparaît directement dans une fenêtre de dialogue.

Contrôler la messagerie vocale
Un nouveau message vocal est signalé par un bip, le pictogramme
Messagerie vocale , et le message se trouve dans la fenêtre de
dialogue.
Procédez comme suit pour vérifier le(s) message(s) vocal/vocaux :
Appuyez sur « Appeler » dans la fenêtre de dialogue, ou appuyez
sur la touche « 1 » en mode veille.
Remarque : Dans le cas où le message suivant apparaît :
« Numéro de messagerie vocale pas défini », le numéro de
messagerie vocale devra être configuré pour la touche
Messagerie vocale. Contactez votre administrateur système.
Suivez les instructions données dans la Messagerie vocale.

Pictogrammes du menu
Naviguer dans les menus
Déplacez-vous dans la structure des menus au moyen de la
touche de navigation.
Les menus s'intitulent « Appels », « Contacts » et
« Paramètres ».
Les trois touches de fonction programmables situées sous
l'écran permettent de sélectionner une option du menu. Un
texte qui s’affiche à l’écran dans le champ des touches
programmables explique leurs fonctions.
Utilisation de l'annuaire local
Localiser et appeler un nom : Entrez dans « Contacts », faites
défiler jusqu’à « Appeler contact » et appuyez sur « Sélect ».
Entrez la première lettre du nom ou le nom complet (il sera
affiché dans le champ Recherche durant la saisie du texte),
faites défiler jusqu’à liste des contacts. Sélectionnez le nom et
appuyez sur « Appeler ».
Pour modifier un contact : Sélectionnez « Modifier contact »,
sélectionnez le nom et appuyez deux fois sur « Modifier ».
Effectuez vos modifications, appuyez sur « OK » puis sur
« Enreg. ».
Pour ajouter un contact, sélectionnez « Ajouter contact », puis
« Nouveau » ou « De Liste Appels ». Appuyez sur « Ajouter »,
entrez le nom et appuyez sur « OK ». Sélectionnez
« Numéro », entrez le numéro, appuyez sur « OK » puis sur
« Enreg. ».

Pour effacer un contact : sélectionnez « Effacer contact »,
sélectionnez le nom, appuyez sur « Effacer », puis sur « Oui ».
Utilisation de l'annuaire centralisé
Entrez dans « Contacts » , et sélectionnez « Annuaire
centralisé ». Sélectionnez « Recherc. par nom », « Recherc. par
N° » ou « Dernier résultat ». Écrivez la/les première(s) lettre(s)
du prénom et/ou la/les première(s) lettre(s) du nom. Appuyez
sur « Recherc. ». Le nom est recherché dans l’annuaire
centralisé et une liste des noms correspondant s’affiche. Pour
passer au nom suivant dans l’ordre alphabétique, vous pouvez
appuyer sur la touche Navigation. Appuyez sur « Plus » pour
ajouter un contact, ou appuyez sur « Appeler » ou sur la touche
Décroché pour effectuer un appel.
Utilisation de l'annuaire entreprise
Localiser et appeler un nom : Accédez à « Contacts » , faites
défiler jusqu’à « Appeler contact » et appuyez sur « Sélect ».
Entrez la première lettre du nom ou le nom complet (il sera
affiché dans le champ Recherche durant la saisie du texte),
faites défiler jusqu’à liste des contacts. Un contact de l'annuaire
entreprise est marqué du symbole , ce qui signifie qu'il n'est
pas modifiable. Sélectionnez le nom et appuyez sur « Appeler ».
Blocage et déblocage automatique du clavier
Dans le menu « Paramètres » , faites défiler jusqu’à «
Blocages ». Sélectionnez « Bloc touche auto », sélectionnez
« Bloc », et appuyez sur « Retour ». Le verrouillage du clavier
est indiqué par le pictogramme « Clavier verrouillé » .
Pour débloquer, appuyez sur la touche * puis sur la touche
Fonction « Oui ».

Consignes de sécurité
Pour un fonctionnement sûr et efficace de l'appareil, veuillez
observer les directives données dans le présent Guide de
référence rapide, et toutes les précautions nécessaires lors de
l'utilisation de l'appareil. Suivez les instructions de
fonctionnement et observez tous les avertissements et les
précautions de sécurité apposés sur le produit, et dans le
Manuel de l'utilisateur.
Seules les batteries suivantes sont compatibles avec ce produit :

Les chargeurs doivent être uniquement raccordés à des
adaptateurs fournis par le fabricant.

Batterie
• Ne pas immerger la batterie dans l'eau. Risque de court-
circuit et de dommages sur la batterie.
• Ne pas exposer la batterie aux flammes nues. La batterie
risque autrement d'exploser.
• Ne laissez pas les contacts métalliques sur la batterie entrer
en contact avec d'autres objets métalliques. Risque de
court-circuit et de dommages sur la batterie.
• Ne laissez pas une batterie dans un endroit où elle pourrait
être soumise à des températures extrêmement élevées,
comme l'intérieur d'une voiture durant une journée chaude.
• Utilisez le chargeur de bureau ou le rack de charge à
suspendre pour charger la batterie. Chargez la batterie
pendant au moins une heure la première fois que vous
l'utilisez.
• Pour de meilleures performances et un cycle de vie plus
long, il est recommandé de charger la batterie entre +5ºC
(+41ºF) et +40ºC (+104ºF). Charger une batterie en dehors
de ces conditions risque d'altérer les performances de la
batterie et réduire son cycle de vie.
