Safety signal words
The safety signal words Danger, Warning, Caution, and Notice have the following meanings:
DANGER DANGER indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in death or se-
rious injury.
WARNING WARNING indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or
serious injury.
CAUTION CAUTION, used with the safety alert symbol, indicates a hazardous situation which, if
not avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury.
NOTICE NOTICE is used to address practices not related to personal injury.
Warranty
■Product warranty will expire 12 months after the product is first taken into use, but will in any case ex-
pire at the latest 13 months after delivery.
■Normal wear and tear on parts is not included within the warranty.
■Normal wear and tear is that which requires a part change or other adjustment/overhaul during
standard tools maintenance typical for that period (expressed in time, operation hours or other-
wise).
■The product warranty relies on the correct use, maintenance, and repair of the tool and its component
parts.
■Damage to parts that occurs as a result of inadequate maintenance or performed by parties other
than Atlas Copco or their Certified Service Partners during the warranty period is not covered by the
warranty.
■To avoid damage or destruction of tool parts, service the tool according to the recommended mainte-
nance schedules and follow the correct instructions.
■Warranty repairs are only performed in Atlas Copco workshops or by Certified Service Partners.
Atlas Copco offers extended warranty and state of the art preventive maintenance through its ToolCover
contracts. For further information contact your local Service representative.
For electrical motors:
■Warranty will only apply when the electric motor has not been opened.

Battery Pack
Attaching and Removing the Battery Pack
1. Attach the battery pack to the tool and make sure that it is fastened correctly. The battery pack can
be attached pointing forward or backward to get the best accessibility and balance.
2. To remove the battery pack, press the button on the battery and push it out.
Since a battery pack slowly discharge itself, keep the battery pack in the charging unit that provides a
trickle charge.

Operation
Ergonomic guidelines
Consider your workstation as you read through this list of general ergonomic guidelines and see if you can
identify areas for improvement in posture, component placement, or work environment.
■Take frequent breaks and change work positions frequently.
■Adapt the workstation area to your needs and the work task.
■Adjust for convenient reach range by determining where parts or tools should be located to avoid
static load.
■Use workstation equipment such as tables and chairs appropriate for the work task.
■Avoid work positions above shoulder level or with static holding during assembly operations.
■When working above shoulder level, reduce the load on the static muscles by reducing the weight
of the tool, using for example torque arms, hose reels or weight balancers. You can also reduce
the load on the static muscles by holding the tool close to the body.
■Make sure to take frequent breaks.
■Avoid extreme arm or wrist postures, particularly for operations requiring a degree of force.
■Adjust for convenient field of vision by minimizing movement of the eyes and head during the work
task.
■Use the appropriate lighting for the work task.
■Select the appropriate tool for the work task.
■Use ear protection equipment in noisy environments.
■Use high-quality inserted tools or consumables to minimize exposure to excessive levels of vibration.
■Minimize exposure to reaction forces.
■When cutting:
A cut-off wheel can get stuck if the wheel is either bent or if it is not guided properly. Make sure to
use the correct flanges for cut-off wheels and avoid bending the wheel during cut-off operation.
■When drilling:
The drill might stall when the drill bit breaks through. Makes sure you use support handles if the
stall torque is too high. The safety standard ISO11148 part 3 recommends using something to ab-
sorb the reaction torque above 10 Nm for pistol grip tools and 4 Nm for straight tools.
■When using direct-driven screw or nutrunners:
Reaction forces depend on tool setting and joint characteristics. The ability to bear reaction forces
depends on the operator’s strength and posture. Adapt the torque setting to the operator's strength
and posture and use a torque arm or reaction bar if the torque is too high.
■Use dust extraction system or mouth protection mask in dusty environments.

Tightening
As tightening torque increase the reaction force build up equally. Make sure that the tool is in correct work-
ing order and that the controller is correctly programmed. By doing this you avoid unexpected behavior
from the tool, which may result in operator injury.
Rotation Direction for the Tightening
Check that the tool is in the correct running direction by turning the reverse button or reverse ring :
Pistol Grip Models
■Press in the reverse switch on the right hand side of the tool, to set the direction clockwise (CW).
■Press in the reverse switch on the left hand side of the tool, to set the direction counter clockwise
(CCW).
Angle Models
■Turn the reverse ring to the right, to set the direction clockwise (CW).
■Turn the reverse ring to the left, to set the direction counter clockwise (CCW).
Soft Start
The soft start function facilitates the screwhead and thread to reach the snug level. The duration of the
soft start is adjustable.

Preventing ESD problems
The components inside the tool and controller are sensitive to electrostatic discharge. To avoid future mal-
function, make sure that service and maintenance is carried out in an ESD approved work environment.
The figure below shows an example of an appropriate service work station.

■Clean appropriate parts accurately
■Replace any defective or worn parts
Overhaul
Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This
will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Service must only be carried out by qualified personnel who have access to the Service instruction and/or
have been trained for service on this tool.
The electric motor is a sealed unit and may under no circumstances be opened by anyone else than Atlas
Copco Industrial Technique AB.
If it is judged that the electric motor is defect or in need of service, the complete motor unit should be re-
turned to Atlas Copco Industrial Technique AB for exchange.
Motors which have been opened by anyone else than Atlas Copco Industrial Technique AB will not be ser-
viced.
Overhaul and preventive maintenance is recommended at regular intervals once per year or after maxi-
mum 250.000 tightening depending on which occurs sooner. More frequent overhaul may be needed if the
machine is used in heavy-duty operations. If the machine not is working properly, it should immediately be
taken away for inspection.
When dismantling the tool always use the specially designed service tool 4080 0848 80, (two service
tools are required).

Overheated tool
The tool can handle any normal line jobs that an operator sustains with the proper adjustments. The tool
temperature can be influenced by the following parameters:
■torque above rated
■too low speed
■very high prevailing torque
■very soft joints
■short cycle time

Garantie

Bloc-batterie
Fixation et retrait du bloc-batterie
1. Fixez le bloc-batterie à l’outil et assurez-vous qu’il est correctement verrouillé. Le bloc-batterie peut
être fixé en avant ou en arrière pour obtenir la meilleure accessibilité et le meilleur équilibre.
2. Pour retirer le bloc-batterie, appuyez sur le bouton de la batterie et poussez-la vers l’extérieur.
Comme un bloc-batterie se décharge lentement, maintenez le bloc-batterie dans l’unité de charge qui
fournit une charge de maintien.

Directives d'ergonomie
Étudiez votre poste de travail en lisant cette liste de directives générales d’ergonomie afin de voir si vous
pouvez détecter des possibilités d’amélioration quant à la posture, au placement des composants ou à
l’environnement de travail.
■Faites des pauses fréquentes et changez fréquemment de position de travail.
■Adaptez le poste de travail à vos besoins et à la tâche à réaliser.
■Organisez-vous de manière à avoir un rayon d’action adapté en déterminant l’endroit où les pièces
ou outils devraient être positionnés, afin d’éviter les charges statiques sur les muscles.
■Utilisez des équipements de poste de travail tels que des tables et des chaises adaptées à la
tâche à réaliser.
■Évitez les positions de travail à une hauteur plus élevée que le niveau de l’épaule ou nécessitant un
maintien statique pendant les opérations d’assemblage.
■Pour travailler à une hauteur plus élevée que le niveau de l’épaule, réduisez la charge statique sur
les muscles en réduisant le poids de l’outil, à l’aide par exemple de bras de serrage, d’enrouleurs
de tuyau souple ou de répartiteurs de charge. Il est également possible de réduire la charge sta-
tique sur les muscles en tenant l’outil près du corps.
■Veillez à faire des pauses fréquentes.
■Évitez les postures extrêmes du bras ou du poignet, en particulier pour les opérations nécessitant
un certain effort.
■Organisez-vous de manière à avoir un champ de vision adapté, tout en limitant le mouvement des
yeux et de la tête pendant l’exécution de la tâche.
■Utilisez un éclairage adapté à la tâche à réaliser.
■Sélectionnez l’outil adapté à la tâche à réaliser.
■Dans les environnements bruyants, utilisez des équipements de protection auditive.
■Utilisez des outils insérés et des consommables de grande qualité, afin de limiter au maximum l’ex-
position à des niveaux excessifs de vibrations.
■Limitez l’exposition aux forces de réaction.
■Pendant le tronçonnage:
Un disque à tronçonner peut se coincer s'il est fléchi ou s'il n'est pas correctement guidé. Veiller à
utiliser les flasques voulus pour les disques à tronçonner et éviter de fléchir le disque pendant le
tronçonnage.
■Pendant le perçage:
La perceuse peut caler lorsque le foret débouche. Veiller à utiliser des poignées latérales si le
couple de calage est trop élevé. La norme de sécurité ISO11148 partie 3 recommande d'utiliser un
moyen d'absorber le couple de réaction au-dessus de 10Nm pour les outils à poignée révolver et
4Nm pour les outils droits.
■Lors de l'utilisation de visseuses ou boulonneuses à entraînement direct:
Les forces de réaction dépendent du réglage de l'outil et des caractéristiques de l'assemblage. La
capacité à supporter les forces de réaction dépend de la force de l'opérateur et de sa posture.
Adapter le réglage de couple à la force de l'opérateur et à sa posture et utiliser un bras ou un toc
de réaction si le couple est trop élevé.
■Utiliser un système d'extraction des poussières ou un masque de protection de la bouche dans les
environnements poussiéreux.

Voyant LED (HMI)
Voyant LED Description
Connexion Indique la connexion avec le coffret appairé ou le logi-
ciel système.
Lot Indique lorsque le lot est terminé.
Batterie Indique l’état de la batterie (lumière clignotante = bat-
terie faible, lumière fixe = batterie vide).
Alarme Une défaillance ou un événement est détecté(e).
Serrage
Lorsque le couple de serrage augmente, la force de réaction augmente également. Assurez-vous que
l'outil est en bon état de fonctionnement et que le coffret est correctement programmé. En faisant cela,
vous évitez un comportement inattendu de la part de l’outil qui pourrait causer des blessures à l’opérateur.
Sens de rotation pour le serrage
Vérifier que l'outil est dans le sens correct de fonctionnement en tournant le bouton de marche arrière ou
la bague de marche arrière :
Modèles à poignée revolver
■Appuyer sur le commutateur de marche arrière sur la droite de l’outil pour régler le sens sur horaire
(CW).
■Appuyer sur le commutateur de marche arrière sur la gauche de l’outil pour régler le sens sur antiho-
raire (CCW).
Modèles à renvoi d'angle
■Tourner la bague de marche arrière vers la droite pour régler le sens sur horaire (CW).
■Tourner la bague de marche arrière vers la gauche pour régler le sens sur horaire (CCW).
Démarrage en douceur
La fonction de démarrage en douceur facilite le niveau d'ajustement de la tête de vis et du filetage. La du-
rée du démarrage en douceur est réglable.

Les composants à l'intérieur de l'outil et du coffret sont sensibles aux décharges électrostatiques. Pour
éviter tout dysfonctionnement à l'avenir, veiller à effectuer les interventions d'entretien et de maintenance
dans un environnement de travail homologué ESD. La figure ci-dessous présente un exemple de poste de
travail approprié pour l'entretien.

L’entretien doit être effectué uniquement par du personnel qualifié ayant accès aux instructions de service
et/ou ayant été formé pour l’entretien de cet outil.
Le moteur électrique est scellé et ne peut jamais être ouvert que par Atlas Copco Industrial Technique AB.
S'il est jugé que le moteur électrique est défectueux ou a besoin d'une révision, renvoyer le bloc moteur
complet chez Atlas Copco Industrial Technique AB pour un échange.
Les moteurs qui ont été ouverts par quiconque autre que Atlas Copco Industrial Technique AB ne seront
pas réparés.
Il est recommandé de procéder régulièrement à des révisions et à une maintenance préventive de l'outil,
une fois par an ou après 250,000 serrages maximum, à la première des deux échéances. Une révision
plus fréquente peut s'avérer nécessaire si la machine est utilisée en service intensif. Si l'outil ne fonc-
tionne pas correctement, il doit être immédiatement retiré du service et contrôlé.
Quand vous démontez l’outil, utilisez exclusivement l’outil de service 4080 0848 80 spécialement conçu
à cet effet (vous avez besoin de deux outils de service).

Lubrification
Lubrifier les engrenages et l'embrayage avec de la graisse contenant du bisulfure de molybdène (Moly-
kote BR2 Plus, par exemple). Lubrifiez les joints toriques et les connexions filetées avec de la graisse
avant de les remonter.

Outil en surchauffe
Avec les réglages appropriés, l'outil peut effectuer les travaux courants effectués sur la chaîne par un opé-
rateur. La température de l'outil peut être affectée par les paramètres suivants :
■couple au-dessus de la valeur nominale
■vitesse trop basse
■couple de traînée très élevé
■assemblages très élastiques
■temps de cycle court
