1. Safety instructions
1.1. Basic information on safety
After assembly, this means after each retrofitting or after any mounting or dismantling
of components, the commissioning settings must be verified in compliance with the
operation instructions.
Safety instructions/
Warnings Prior to working on the devices, persons working on the actuator and the parking
frame must be familiar with the safety and warning instructions of these operation
instructions and the operation instruction pertaining to the actuator, and observe the
given instructions to avoid personal injury and property damage.Safety instructions
and waning signs on the actuator and the parking frame must be observed. The
operation instructions must always be available for any work!
Qualification of staff Assembly, electrical connection, commissioning, operation, and maintenance must
be carried out by suitably qualified personnel authorised by the end user or contractor
of the plant only.
Prior to working on this product, the staff must have thoroughly read and understood
these instructions and, furthermore, know and observe officially recognised rules
regarding occupational health and safety.
Work performed in potentially explosive atmospheres is subject to special regulations
which have to be observed. The end user or contractor of the plant is responsible
for respect and control of these regulations, standards, and laws.
Electrostatic charging Highly efficient charge generating processes (processes more efficient than manual
friction) on the device surface must be excluded at any time, since they will lead to
propagating brush discharges and therefore to ignition of a potentially explosive
atmosphere.
This also applies to fireproof coatings or covers available as an option.
Particular conditions of use
Theparticular conditions of useare listed on the certificates supplied.Amongothers,
this includes the following conditions:
●Refer to the section <Electrostatic charge> contained within this chapter for
further references on minimising the risk of electrostatic charging within a po-
tentially explosive dust atmosphere.
●For information regarding the dimensions of the flameproof joints, the manufac-
turer shall be contacted.
●SpecialfastenersaccordingtoIEC 60079-0 to seal flameproof enclosures must
have the following strength classes:
- Minimum A*-70 for screws for fixing electrical connections
- Minimum A*-80 for all other screws
1.2. Range of application
TheTR-PAFEx parking frame is designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres
and is used for safe storage of a disconnected electrical connection of a TIGRON
actuator. The purpose is to protect the electrical contacts against environmental
impacts, to transmit electrical signals and to protect against direct or indirect contact.
Other applications require explicit (written) confirmation by the manufacturer.
No liability can be assumed for inappropriate or unintended use.
Observance of these operation instructions is considered as part of the device's
designated use.
1.3. Warnings and notes
The following warnings draw special attention to safety-relevant procedures in these
operation instructions, each marked by the appropriate signal word (DANGER,
WARNING, CAUTION, NOTICE).
