Toimproveimagequalityforspecicsurveillancescenes,useexposuremodes.Exposuremodesletsyoucontrolaperture,shutter
speed,andgain.GotoVideo>Image>Exosureandselectbetweenthefollowingexposuremodes:
•Formostusecases,selectAutomaticexposure.
•Forenvironmentswithcertainarticiallighting,forexampleuorescentlighting,selectFlicker-free.
Selectthesamefrequencyasthepowerlinefrequency.
•Forenvironmentswithcertainarticiallightandbrightlight,forexampleoutdoorswithuorescentlightingatnightand
sunduringdaytime,selectFlicker-reduced.
Selectthesamefrequencyasthepowerlinefrequency.
•Tolockthecurrentexposuresettings,selectHoldcurrent.
Reducenoiseinlo-lightconditions
Toreducenoiseinlow-lightconditions,youcanadjustoneormoreofthefollowingsettings:
•Adjustthetrade-offbetweennoiseandmotionblur.GotoVideo>Image>ExosureandmovetheBlur-noisetrade-off
slidertowardLownoise.
•Settheexposuremodetoautomatic.

Ahighmaxshuttervaluecanresultinmotionblur.
•Toslowdowntheshutterspeed,setmaxshuttertothehighestpossiblevalue.

Whenyoureducethemaxgain,theimagecanbecomedarker.
•Setthemaxgaintoalowervalue.
•Ifpossible,opentheaperture.
•Reducesharpnessintheimage,underVideo>Image>Aearance.
Maximizethedetailsinanimage

Ifyoumaximizethedetailsinanimage,thebitratewillprobablyincreaseandyoumightgetareducedframerate.

•Belowtheliveviewimage,clickandinVideoformat,selectMJPEG.

Dynamicrangeisthedifferenceinlightlevelsinanimage.Insomecasesthedifferencebetweenthedarkestandthebrightest
areascanbesignicant.Theresultisoftenanimagewhereeitherthedarkorthebrightareasarevisible.Widedynamicrange
WDR)makesbothdarkandbrightareasoftheimagevisible.

Stabilizeashakyimageithelectronicimagestabilization(EIS)
ElectronicImageStabilizationEIS)canbeusedinenvironmentswheretheproductismountedinanexposedlocationandsubjectto
vibrations,forexample,windorpassingtrafc.
EISmakestheimagesmoother,steadierandlessblurry.Italsoreducesthelesizeofthecompressedimageandlowersthe
bitrateofthevideostream.

Youcancreaterulestomakeyourdeviceperformanactionwhencertaineventsoccur.Aruleconsistsofconditionsandactions.
Theconditionscanbeusedtotriggertheactions.Forexample,thedevicecanstartarecordingorsendanemailwhenitdetects
motion,orshowanoverlaytextwhilethedeviceisrecording.

1.GotoSystem>Eventsandaddarule.Theruledeneswhenthedevicewillperformcertainactions.Youcanset
uprulesasscheduled,recurring,ormanuallytriggered.
2.EnteraName.
3.SelecttheConditionthatmustbemettotriggertheaction.Ifyouspecifymorethanoneconditionfortherule,allofthe
conditionsmustbemettotriggertheaction.
4.SelectwhichActionthedeviceshouldperformwhentheconditionsaremet.

Recordvideohenthecameradetectsimpact
Shockdetectionallowsthecameratodetecttamperingcausedbyvibrationsorshock.Vibrationsduetotheenvironmentortoan
objectcantriggeranactiondependingontheshocksensitivityrange,whichcanbesetfrom0to100.Inthisscenario,someoneis
throwingrocksatthecameraafterhoursandyouwouldliketogetavideoclipoftheevent.
Turnonshockdetection:
1.GotoSystem>Detectors>Shockdetection.
2.Turnonshockdetection,andsetavaluefortheshocksensitivity.
