Thedevicepasswordistheprimaryprotectionforyourdataandservices.Axisdevicesdonotimposeapasswordpolicyasthey
maybeusedinvarioustypesofinstallations.

Levelthecamera
Toadjusttheviewinrelationtoareferenceareaoranobject,usethelevelingguideincombinationwithamechanicaladjustment
ofthecamera.
1.GotoSettings>System>Orientationandclick.
2.Adjustthecameramechanicallyuntilthepositionofthereferenceareaortheobjectisalignedwiththelevelingguide.
Adjutthefocu
Thisproducthasthreefocusmodes:
•Auto:Thecameraautomaticallyadjustsfocusbasedontheentireimage.
•Spot:Thecameraautomaticallyadjustsfocusbasedonthecenteroftheimage.
•Manual:Thefocusissetmanuallyataxeddistance.
Toselectafocusmode:
1.GotoSettings>PTZ>ocusdefaults.
2.TurnonAutoifyouwanttouseautofocusasdefaultfocus.
TurnonSpotifyouwanttousespotfocusasdefaultfocus.
IfbothAutoandSpotareturnedon,spotfocuswillbethedefaultfocus.Ifbothareturnedoff,manualfocuswillbe
thedefaultfocus.
3.Intheliveviewwindow,iftheZoomsliderisvisible,clickZoomandselectocus(auto)orocus(spot).Whichsettingis
availableintheliveviewdependsonyourfocusdefaultssetting.
4.Selectthefocusmodeyouwanttouse.

Werecommendthefocusrecallfeatureinthefollowingscenarios:

•Thefocusrecalloverridesthecamera’sautofocusatthespecicpan/tiltrange.

Createafocusrecallarea
1.Pan,tilt,andzoomintotheareawhereyouwouldliketohavefocus.
Aslongasthefocusrecallbuttonshowsaplus,youcanaddafocusrecallareainthatposition.
2.Adjustthefocus.
3.Clickthefocusrecallbutton.
Deleteafocusrecallarea
1.Pan,tilt,andzoomintothefocusrecallareayouwanttodelete.
Thefocusrecallbuttontogglestominuswhenthecameradetectsafocusrecallarea:.

Selectceneprole
Asceneproleisasetofpredenedimageappearancesettingsincludingcolorlevel,brightness,sharpness,contrastandlocal
contrast.Sceneprolesarepreconguredintheproductforquicksetuptoaspecicscenario,forexampleorensicwhichis
optimizedforsurveillanceconditions.Foradescriptionofeachavailablesetting,gotothehelpmenuandclickHelp.
Youcanselectasceneproleduringtheinitialsetupofthecamera.Youcanalsoselectorchangesceneprolelater.

Reduceimageproceingtimewithlowlatencymode
Youcanoptimizetheimageprocessingtimeofyourlivestreambyturningonlowlatencymode.Thelatencyinyourlivestreamis
reducedtoaminimum.

Selectexpouremode
Therearedifferentexposuremodeoptionsinthecamerathatadjustsaperture,shutterspeed,andgaintoimproveimagequalityfor
specicsurveillancescenes.GotoSettings>Image>Exposureandselectbetweenthefollowingexposuremodes:
•Formostusecases,selectAutomaticexposure.
•Forenvironmentswithcertainarticiallighting,forexampleuorescentlighting,selectlicker-free.
Selectthesamefrequencyasthepowerlinefrequency.
•Forenvironmentswithcertainarticiallightandbrightlight,forexampleoutdoorswithuorescentlightingatnightand
sunduringdaytime,selectlicker-reduced.
Selectthesamefrequencyasthepowerlinefrequency.
•Tolockthecurrentexposuresettings,selectHoldcurrent.
OptimizeIRillumination
Dependingontheinstallationenvironmentandtheconditionsaroundthecamera,forexampleexternallightsourcesinthescene,
youcansometimesimprovetheIRilluminationifyoumanuallyadjusttheintensityoftheLED’s.
1.GotoSettings>Image>Dayandnight,andturnonAllowillumination.
2.TurnonLiveviewcontrol.
3.MinimizeSettings.
4.Intheliveviewcontrolbar,clicktheIlluminationbutton,turnonIRlightandselectManual.
5.Adjusttheintensity.
BenetfromIRlightinlow-lightconditionuingnightmode
Yourcamerausesvisiblelighttodelivercolorimagesduringtheday.Astheavailablelightdiminishes,youcansetthecamerato
automaticallyshifttonightmode,inwhichthecamerausesbothvisiblelightandnear-infraredlighttodeliverblack-and-white
images.Sincethecamerausesmoreoftheavailablelightitcandeliverbrighter,moredetailed,images.
1.GotoSettings>Image>Dayandnight,andmakesurethattheIRcutlterissettoAuto.
2.Todetermineatwhatlightlevelyouwantthecameratoshifttonightmode,movetheThresholdslidertowardBright
orDark.
3.EnableAllowIRilluminationandSynchronizeIRilluminationtousethecamera’sIRlightwhennightmodeisactivated.
Note
Ifyousettheshifttonightmodetooccurwhenit’sbrighter,theimageremainssharperastherewillbelesslow-light
noise.Ifyousettheshifttooccurwhenit’sdarker,theimagecolorsaremaintainedforlonger,buttherewillbemore
imageblurduetolow-lightnoise.
Reducenoieinlow-lightcondition
Toreducenoiseinlow-lightconditions,youcanadjustoneormoreofthefollowingsettings:
•Adjustthetrade-offbetweennoiseandmotionblur.GotoSettings>Image>ExposureandmovetheBlur-noise
trade-offslidertowardLownoise.
•Settheexposuremodetoautomatic.

Ahighmaxshuttervaluecanresultinmotionblur.

Reducemotionblurinlow-lightcondition
Toreducemotionblurinlow-lightconditions,adjustoneormoreofthefollowingsettingsinSettings>Image>Exposure:
•MovetheBlur-noisetrade-offslidertowardLowmotionblur.
Note
Whenyouincreasethegain,imagenoisealsoincreases.
•SetMaxshuttertoashortertime,andMaxgaintoahighervalue.
Ifyoustillhaveproblemswithmotionblur:
•Increasethelightlevelinthescene.
•Mountthecamerasothatobjectsmovetowarditorawayfromitratherthansideways.
Maximizethedetailinanimage
Important
Ifyoumaximizethedetailsinanimage,thebitratewillprobablyincreaseandyoumightgetareducedframerate.
•GotoSettings>Image>Capturemodeandmakesuretoselectthecapturemodethathasthehighestresolution.
•GotoSettings>Streamandsetthecompressionaslowaspossible.
•GotoLiveviewsettings>VideoformatandselectMJPEGstreaming.
•GotoSettings>StreamandturnoffZipstreamfunctionality.
Handlecenewithtrongbacklight
Dynamicrangeisthedifferenceinlightlevelsinanimage.Insomecasesthedifferencebetweenthedarkestandthebrightest
areascanbesignicant.Theresultisoftenanimagewhereeitherthedarkorthebrightareasarevisible.Widedynamicrange
(WDRmakesbothdarkandbrightareasoftheimagevisible.
