WIRING AND INSTALLATION
1. Make sure that the vehicle is turned off and if possible disconnect the
negative battery terminal to prevent any accidental shorts.
2. Remove the OEM radio. Please see your local car audio professional if you
have questions or problems doing this.
3. Unplug the harness going into the back of the OEM radio.
4. Plug the “T” harness into the OEM radio, the OEM harness, and into the
GMLAN-AMP-01 interface.
5. Connect the BLUE/WHITE wire from the GMLAN-AMP-01 interface to the
remote turn on of the aftermarket amplifier.
6. Do not reinstall the OEM radio until the amplifier is installed and tested.
LEVEL ADJUSTMENT
If after setting the amplifier gain properly the output is still too low or high, you
can increase/decrease the level at the GMLAN-AMP-01. Locate the potentiome-
ter on the GMLAN-AMP-01 which is next to the 10 way Molex plug. Turn the
radio on and use a small Phillips or Flathead screwdriver turn the potentiometer
up or down to adjust the level up or down.
NOISE ISSUE
Most installations should be free of noise however there might be some cases
that noise is present. If that is the case follow these steps:
1. Make sure the vehicle is turned off.
2. Open up the GMLAN-AMP-01 interface and locate the 3 pin header with the
shunt on 2 of the pins.
3. Move the shunt from pins 2 and 3 to pins 1 and 2.
4. Close up the GMLAN-AMP-01 interface and turn vehicle on to test.
5. In some rare cases a ground loop isolator may be required.
