3. INTRODUCTION & FEATURES.
This service manual is for the PGE-W Crane scale.
High accuracy analog to digital converter
• Using Rocker and Micro switch keys.
• Non volatile memory for system parameters and calibration data.
• The microcontroller technology allows the instrument to perform in all
measuring functions, input-output, automatic controls and sequences
necessary for the operation of the weighing systems.

4. PRECAUTIONS
• Do not install the crane scale in direct sunlight.
• Avoid sudden temperature changes, vibration, wind, water.
• Avoid shock from excessive weight.
• Avoid heavy R F noise.

5. INSTALLATION
The location must be such that the instrument is not subject to excessive
vibrations, heat or humidity. Avoid direct sunlight on the front of the instrument.
The unit has to be installed at the right height to allow an easy reading of the
display and convenient keyboard operation.
The instrument is powered from external power adaptor 9VDC/800mA or
internal battery 6V/10AH. Battery charging is performed while the external
power is connected.

The loads which hang on the hook should be a vertical load.

6. BATTERY AND CHARGING.
When the battery is low, you need to charge battery immediately.
To charge the battery, insert the adaptor pin to the jack. The scale does not needs
to be turned on. The battery should be charged for 24 hours for full capacity.
Just under the zero indicator there is an LED to indicate the status of battery
charging. When the scale is plugged into the mains power the internal battery will
be charged. If the LED is green the battery is fully charged. If it is Red the battery
is nearly discharged and yellow indicates the battery is being charged. It’s better
keep charging. When battery goes low, the reading will be flickering automatically.
30 minutes later, PGE-W will show “lo_ba”, if you still don’t charge the battery,
PGE-W would be shut down automatically after second of warning in order to
protect the battery. Please charge the battery immediately, or PGE-W cannot be
used.

DISPLAY : Displays weight or messages.
• HOLD LAMP : Indicates that the hold feature has been activated.
• STABLE : Indicates that the scale is stable
• ZERO : Indicates that scale is stable at zero.

• ON-OFF : Used to turn the scale on / off.
• CHANGE : Used to change mode. In setting mode used to
change item.
• UNIT : Used to change unit from lb to kg. In
setting mode used to escape and in calibration mode used
to change decmal.
• ZERO/TARE : Resets to zero and used to enter a tare weight.

Remote
REMOTE CONTROLLER
PGE-W series crane scale come with 4 keys at the remote controller. 3 key
function is same on the crane scale, one key is standby (no function)
Please pull out the antenna before operate the remote controller
The remote controller operates up to a distance of around 7 feet, but this is
dependant on the operating environment.

8. OPERATION
1. B sic Oper tion
A. Power on and off
Please press ON/OFF key before you operate this scale, and if you want to
switch off press ON/OFF key again.
B. Zero the scale
When there is no item on the scale but reading is not zero, press the Zero key
to make re-zero reading. After operation, the zero indicator will on.
(Note, when current reading more then 2% of capacity, press this key will do
tare operate)
C. Tare operate
When you load a container, and want to weigh with goods in container later, you
can press Zero key with container, display will show “0.00”.
(Note, when current reading less then 2% of capacity, press this key will do zero
operate, this means tare weight must > 2% of capacity)
D. Change units
To change from lb to kg’s press the UNIT key, LED labeled lb will be lit, when
in lb unit of measure
E. Change division
You can use the CHANGE key to change division size (refer to F0 in
parameters)
F. Overload Warning
Please do not add item that is over the maximum capacity. When
reading“--ol-”, remove the item from the scale to avoid damage to the load cell.
2. AUTO SLEEP
PGE-W series crane scale have an automatic sleep function, (to disable this
function, see parameter F sl ). When weight goes under min weight (20d)
after the settings time, PGE-W will automatically enter sleep mode. Then press
any key to add weight on the hook, PGE-W will return to normal weighing
mode again.

9. A. PARAMETER SETTINGS
Turn on the scale. Press ZERO and CHANGE keys both during the self
checking.
Display will show “ P1---“. Then want to press password. use HOLD key to move
the active digit, use CHANGE key to increment a digit, use ZERO key to sure,
default password is “000”, Display will shows “F0 di”, scale enter setting mode,
after enter mode, use CHANGE key to shift parameter items, use ZERO key to
sure, use HOLD key to escape current setting item.
