Overview
The Rapid Replacement Module (RRM) allows the electronics module
and waveguide assembly to be quickly and easily replaced without
removing the pressure tube.
Ordering Information
The RRM can be ordered as a complete unit, or as a replacement
module only. The replacement module can only be used with Balluff
BTL5-series linear transducers.
The ordering codes are shown below:
Ordering Example 1
Complete transducer unit with RRM + pressure tube
BTL5-xxx-Mxxxx-ZM-xxx
Add "M" after "Z"
BTL5-xxx-Mxxxx-ZM-xxx/RU
Add "M" after "Z"
Add "/RU" at end of ordering code
Included with "RU" Replacement Unit:
- Electronics head/sensing element unit
- Replacement housing gasket
- (2) M4x60 housing retaining screws

Removal and Replacement Procedure
Step 1
: Using a 3 mm hex wrench, loosen
and remove the (2) M4x60
housing retaining screws.
Step 2
: Carefully slide the electronics
module/sensor element assembly
out until the sensor element is free
from the pressure tube. Remove
and discard the existing housing
gasket. Replace gasket with the
supplied new gasket.
Step 3
: Carefully slide the new electronics
module/sensor element into the
pressure tube. Align the raised keys
on the pressure tube with the slots in
the face of the electronics module.
Do not force! Components should
slide together easily.
Step 4
: Tighten housing retaining screws securely.
