SICHERHEITSHINWEISE
•Verwenden Sie das Werkzeug nicht, wenn Teile fehlen oder beschädigt sind.
•Verwenden Sie das Werkzeug nur für den vorgesehenen Zweck.
•Legen Sie das Werkzeug niemals auf die Fahrzeug-Batterie. Gefahr von Kurzschluss.
•Vorsicht bei Arbeiten an laufenden Motoren. Lose Kleidung, Werkzeuge und andere
Gegenstände können von drehenden Teilen erfasst werden und schwere Verletzungen
verursachen.
•Halten Sie Kinder und andere unbefugte Personen vom Arbeitsbereich fern.
•Vorsicht bei Arbeiten an heißen Motoren, es besteht Verbrennungsgefahr!
•Entfernen Sie vor der Reparatur den Zündschlüssel, so verhindern Sie ein versehentliches
Starten des Motors und einen dadurch entstehenden Motorschaden.
•Diese Anleitung dient als Kurzinformation und ersetzt keinesfalls ein Werkstatthandbuch,
verwenden Sie immer fahrzeugspezifische Serviceliteratur, dieser entnehmen Sie bitte
technische Angaben wie Drehmomentwerte, Hinweise zur Demontage/Montage, usw.
•Nach erfolgter Reparatur bzw. vor dem Starten den Motor min. 2 Umdrehungen von Hand
drehen und die Steuerzeiten erneut überprüfen.
•Drehen Sie den Motor nur in normaler Drehrichtung (im Uhrzeigersinn soweit nicht anders
angegeben)

VERWENDUNG
VANOS-Einstellwerkzeug,
zu verwenden wie OEM 116150
Entfernen Sie die Dichtung und montieren Sie das
Werkzeug (2) (ohne eingesetzte Dichtung).
Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Werkzeug am
Zylinderkopf anliegt.
Setzen Sie die Schrauben ein und ziehen Sie sie
fest, um das Werkzeug zu sichern.
Druckluftanschluss,
zu verwenden wie OEM 113450
Die Öldruckleitung zur Vanos-Einheit
abschrauben, Druckluftanschluß (3) einsetzen
und Druckluftversorgung anschließen, um die
Vanos-Einheit zwischen 2 - 8 bar unter Druck zu
setzen.
ACHTUNG: Beim Einleiten von Druckluft kann
etwas Öl aus dem Vanoseinheit herausgedrückt
werden. Mit einem geeigneten Tuch abdecken.
Sekundär-Kettenrad-Montagewerkzeug,
zu verwenden wie OEM 116180
Kettenräder auf das Montagewerkzeug (1)
auflegen.
Auf die Position der Zahnlücke (A) achten und
Kette auflegen.
Kettenräder mit Kette vom Werkzeug
abnehmen, dabei darauf achten, dass sich die
Position der Kette auf den Kettenrädern nicht
verändert und Kettenräder mit Kette am Motor
montieren.

INTENDED USE
This tool set is designed for setting the VANOS on BMW engines M52TU, M54 and M56.

SAFETY INFORMATION
•Do not use the tool if parts are missing or damaged.
•Use the tool for the intended purpose only.
•Never place the tool on the vehicle battery. There is a risk of a short circuit.
•Be careful when working with the engine running. Loose clothing, tools and other objects can be
caught by rotating parts and cause serious injury.
•Keep children and other unauthorized persons away from the work area.
•Be careful when working on hot engines because of the risk of burn injuries.
•If you remove the ignition key before repairing, you can prevent the engine from being started
accidentally and resulting in engine damage.
•This manual serves as a brief guide and does not replace a workshop manual. Always refer to
the vehicle-specific service literature, particularly the technical data such as torque values and
instructions for disassembly/assembly, etc.
•After repair or before starting the engine, turn a minimum of 2 turns by hand and check the
timing again.
•Turn the engine only in the normal direction of rotation (clockwise unless otherwise specified)

USE
VANOS Adjusting Tool,
to be used as OEM 116150
Remove the gasket and fit the tool (2) (without
gasket fitted) and ensure tool is in full contact with
the cylinder head. Fit and tighten bolts to secure
the tool.
Druckluftanschluss,
to be used as OEM 113450
Unscrew the oil pressure pipe to the Vanos unit.
Insert tool (3) and connect a compressed air
supply to pressurize the Vanos unit between 2
and 8 bar.
WARNING: Some oil may be forced out of the
Vanos unit when compressed air is introduced.
Cover with a suitable cloth.
Secondary Sprocket Mounting Tool,
to be used as OEM 116180
Put the sprockets on the mounting tool.
Be sure that the position of the tooth gap (A) is
aligned correctly.
Remove sprockets with chain from the tool.
Make sure that the position of the chain on the
sprockets do not changed and put the sprockets
and the chain onto the engine.

CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ

•Maintenez à l’écart les enfants et toutes les autres personnes non autorisées de la zone de
travail.
•Soyez prudent lorsque vous allez exécuter des travaux sur des moteurs chauds, il y a risque de
brûlures !
•Retirez la clé de contact avant d’entamer la réparation, vous évitez ainsi de démarrer le moteur
par inadvertance et, en conséquence, des dommages du moteur.
•Ces instructions sont des informations brèves et ne peuvent pas remplacer le manuel de
l’atelier. Consultez toujours les manuels de service spécifiques du véhicule pour des
informations techniques comme la valeur du moment de couple, des instructions de
démontage/montage, etc.
•Après une réparation ou avant le démarrage du moteur, faites 2 rotations à la main minimum et
revérifiez ensuite les temps de distribution.
•Faites tourner le moteur uniquement dans le sens de rotation normal (sauf indication contraire,
le sens des aiguilles d’une montre)

UTILISATION
Outil de réglage VANOS,
à utiliser comme OEM 116150
Retirez le joint d’étanchéité et montez l’outil (2)
(sans le joint).
Assurez-vous que l’outil repose correctement sur
la culasse.
Insérez et serrez les vis pour fixer l’outil.
Raccord d’air comprimé,
à utiliser comme OEM 113450
Dévissez la conduite de pression d’huile de l’unité
Vanos, insérez le raccord d’air comprimé (3) et
raccordez l’alimentation en air comprimé pour
mettre l’unité Vanos sous pression entre 2 et 8
Bar.
ATTENTION : Lorsque l’air comprimé est
raccordé, une petite quantité d’huile peut être
éjectée de l’unité Vanos. Recouvrez-la d’un
chiffon approprié.
Outil de montage du pignon de chaîne
secondaire,
à utiliser comme OEM 116180
Posez les pignons de chaîne sur l’outil de
montage (1).
Faites attention à la position de l’espace entre les
dents (A) et posez la chaîne.
Retirez les pignons avec la chaîne de l’outil, en
veillant à ce que la position sur les pignons ne
change pas, et montez les pignons avec la chaîne
sur le moteur.

•Precaución al trabajar con motores en marcha. La ropa holgada, herramientas y otros objetos
pueden quedar atrapados en las piezas giratorias y causar lesiones graves.
•Mantenga a los niños y otras personas no autorizadas lejos del área de trabajo.
•¡Precaución al trabajar con motores calientes, existe peligro de quemaduras!
•Retire la llave de encendido antes de la reparación, así evitará un arranque accidental del
motor y los daños en el mismo que podrían producirse en consecuencia.
•Este manual sirve para proporcionar una breve información y no sustituye en modo alguno a un
manual del taller, utilice siempre la documentación de servicio específica del vehículo, que
contiene indicaciones técnicas como los valores de par, las instrucciones de
desmontaje/montaje, etc. que puede consultar.
•Después de realizar la reparación o antes de arrancar el motor, gire el motor como mínimo 2
vueltas a mano y compruebe de nuevo la sincronización.
•Gire el motor solo en el sentido de giro normal (en el sentido horario, salvo indicación de lo
contrario)

APLICACIÓN
Herramienta de ajuste VANOS
para ser utilizado como OEM 116150
Retire la junta e monte la herramienta (2) (sin la
junta insertada).
Asegúrese de que la herramienta esté en
contacto con la culata.
Inserte y apriete los tornillos para asegurar la
herramienta.
Conexión de aire comprimido,
para ser utilizado como OEM 113450
Desatornille la línea de presión de aceite a la
unidad Vanos, inserte la conexión de aire
comprimido (3) y conecte el suministro de aire
comprimido para presurizar la unidad Vanos entre
2 y 8 bar.
ATENCIÓN Al introducir aire comprimido, puede
salir algo de aceite de la unidad Vanos Cubrir con
un paño adecuado.
Herramienta de montaje de rueda de cadena
secundaria,
para ser utilizada como OEM 116180
Coloque las ruedas de cadena sobre la
herramienta de montaje (1).
Preste atención a la posición del espacio entre
dientes (A) y coloque la cadena.
Retire las ruedas de cadena de la herramienta,
asegurándose de que la posición de la cadena en
las ruedas de cadena no cambie y montar las
ruedas de cadena con cadena en el motor.
