We are pleased to say that the return rate on BODUM® product is very low; however, should you
need to return your BODUM® product under warranty, please follow the simple procedure below.
BODUM AUSTRALIA WARRANTY PROCEDURE
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any
other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or
replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major
failure.
Faulty product does not include items which have incurred wear and tear through general home
use, misuse or commercial use.
The beneits to BODUM® customers given by the warranty on e-BODUM® electrical products set
out below are in addition to other rights and remedies under a law in relation to the BODUM®
product to which the warranty relates. Eective 1 April 2014 only e-BODUM® electrical products
purchased in Australia and marked with the code ‘AUS’ and ‘ANZ’ are covered by our express
warranty.
Returns procedure: to return a faulty BODUM® product you can either return it to your store of
purchase or contact BODUM® Australia directly at our oice on 02 9692 0582.
Warranty period:
e-BODUM®: 2 year replacement warranty from the date of purchase in Australia for electrical
appliances with code ‘AUS’ and ‘ANZ’ only where a defect appears and BODUM® Australia is noti-
ied within 2 years from date of purchase.
Proof of purchase: your claim must be validated with a copy of proof of purchase. BODUM®
Australia will not be able to process the return without providing a proof of purchase. Proof of
purchase includes your original purchase receipt/docket or credit card statement showing the
purchase amount.
Replacement: to ensure that your claim is dealt with quickly and easily, we don’t do product
repairs. We will replace your faulty product with a new one either through your retailer or BODUM®
Australia. If you do not wish to receive a replacement, a full refund will be given.

Instructions for use
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed including the following.
Before operating this appliance for the irst time, read all
instructions. Failure to observe the instructions and safety
notes may result in hazardous conditions.
After unpacking the appliance, check it for damage. If in
doubt, do not use it, contact your dealer.
Keep the packaging materials (cardboard, plastic bags etc.)
out of reach of children (danger of suffocation or injury).
This appliance is designed for household use only. Do not use
outdoors.
Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a
heated oven.
The kettle is only to be used with the stand provided.
The manufacturer rejects any liability for damage or injury
caused by improper or unreasonable use. Do not use appliance
for other then intended use.
Do not allow children to play with the appliance.
Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by
or near children or not familiar persons.

Never touch the appliance with damp or wet hands. Do not
touch the mains cable or plug with wet hands.
Do not touch any hot surfaces.
Only use the handle to pick up the kettle.
The use of any accessory attachment, not recommended by
the appliance manufacturer, may result in ire, electric shock
or injury to persons.
Never ill the kettle with water when it is positioned on the base
unit.
Never ill the kettle above the «MAX» mark.
Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing
cycles.
If the kettle is overilled, boiling water may be ejected.
Do never boil water without the lid on.
Always ensure that you pour out boiling water slowly and
carefully, taking care not to tilt the spout too rapidly.
To prevent scalding, avoid coming into contact with the steam
escaping from the opening in the lid when the water is being
boiled or just after the kettle has switched off. Be careful when
opening the lid, if the kettle is still hot and you wish to reill it
with water.
Boiling water can cause burns.
Move the appliance with extreme care when it contains hot
water.
Do not forcefully locate the switch in the ON position, or make
any unauthorised changes to the switch in order to make it
stay in the ON position. This could lead to steam escaping
from around the lid, damaging the automatic switch-off
mechanism and possibly causing bodily injury.
Never immerse the item in water, remember this is an electrical
appliance.
Only clean the appliance using a damp cloth.
To disconnect, turn any control to «off» then remove plug from
wall outlet.
Always unplug the appliance by holding the plug, not the cord.
Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch
hotsurfaces.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet when the kettle is
not in use and before cleaning. Allow the kettle to cool before
putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning it.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or
after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any
manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service
facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
Never attempt to exchange the mainscable of the appliance
as special tools are required for this. To ensure continued
safety of the appliance, if the cable needs to be repaired or
exchanged, have this carried out exclusively by a customer
service workshop authorised by the manufacturer.
To protect against ire, electric shock and injury to persons do
not immerse cord, plug, kettle container and power base in
water or other liquid.
Do not operate the kettle on an inclined plane. Do not operate
the kettle unless the element is fully immersed. Do not move
while the kettle is switched on.
To prevent damage to the appliances do not use alkaline
cleaning agents when cleaning, use a soft cloth and a mild
detergent.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years
and above if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they
understand the hazards involved.

INSTRUCTIONS
Place the appliance on a stable lat surface which is
neither hot nor near a heat source. The surface must be dry. Keep
the appliance and its mains cable out of reach of children.
During use, do not place the base unit on a metal tray or a metal
surface.
Ensure that the voltage indicated on the rating plate of the
appliance agrees with the mains voltage in your area. Connect
the appliance only to a properly earthed power point with a
minimum output of 6A. (Use a residual current device (RCD)
seek the advice of an electrician.) While the appliance is in use,
the mains plug must be accessible in case of an emergency.
To ensure continued protection against risk of electric shock,
connect to properly grounded outlets only.
2  SWITCHING OFF THE KETTLE MANUALLY
The ON/OFF switch (5) can also be used to switch off the kettle
before the water boils.
3  SAFETY CUTOFF
The kettle is protected against damage resulting from use with
an insuficient volume of water. A safety cut-off will automatically
disconnect the power supply if the heating element overheats.
Should the kettle ever boil dry during operation, you must leave it
to cool for 10 minutes before re-illing it with cold water. The safety
cut-off will reset automatically once it has cooled.
4  BEFORE USING THE KETTLE
Clen the kettle before using it for the irst time by illing
it completely (to the MAX mrk) (8) with wter, boiling the
wter, nd then discrding the wter.
1  POWERSUPPLY CORD
A short power-supply cord is to be provided to reduce risks
resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer
cord.
Extension cords are available and may be used if care is
exercised in their use.
If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of
the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical
rating of the appliance, if the appliance is of the grounded
type, the extension cord should be grounding -type 3-wire cord.
The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape
over the counter top or table top where it can be pulled on by
children or tripped over unintentionally.
If the power point is unsuitable for accommodating the plug of
your appliance, have the power point changed by a licensed
eletrician.

1 - SCALE FILTER
Scle, or clcium, is  nturl substnce tht forms when
hrd wter is boiled. The ilter (3) serves to retin the clcium
in the wter kettle.
2 - CLEANING AND REMOVAL OF THE FILTER
It is importnt to clen the ilter (3) regulrly. The ilter (3)
clips into the body nd cn be removed by pulling it upwrds
from the body. It cn be clened by gentle brushing with 
soft brush under running wter.
3 - KETTLE CLEAN AND DECALE
Remove scle using either  proprietry de-scling product
suitble for plstic kettles (following the instructions
crefully), or citric cid.
We recommend using citric cid s follows:
Boil 0.5l/17oz litre of wter, then unplug the kettle nd stnd
it in n empty sink or bowl. Add 25gm of citric cid crystls
grdully, then leve the kettle to stnd.
As soon s the eervescence subsides, empty the kettle nd
rinse it thoroughly with cold wter. Wipe the outside of the
kettle thoroughly with  dmp cloth to remove ll trces of
citric cid which my dmge the inish.
Do not use  more concentrted solution. Ensure tht the
electricl connections re completely dry before using the
kettle. Citric cid crystls re vilble t most chemists.
Filure to de-scle my invlidte the gurntee.
Never use chemicls, steel wool or brsive gents to clen
the exterior of the kettle.
Only clen the pplince using  dmp cloth.
Never immerse the item in wter: remember this is n
electricl pplicnt.
Note: Ensure tht the mins power supply is switched o
when you re not using the kettle.
Any other servicing should be performed by n uthorized
service representtive.
MAINTENANCE
AND CARE
Do not ill the kettle with less thn 0.15l/4oz (9) nd not more
thn 0.5l/17oz (to the MAX mrk) (8), to prevent the kettle
from boiling dry or boiling wter escping from the spout.
2  CONNECTION TO POWER SUPPLY
After illing the kettle, position it on the bse unit (7). Ensure
tht the kettle body is seted correctly on the contct unit on
the bse unit (7).
Connect the mins plug to the power supply nd move the
ON/OFF switch (5) into the ON (I) position.
Note: Ensure tht the ON/OFF switch is ble to move freely.
3  SWITCHING OFF
Your kettle hs n utomtic ON/OFF switch nd will switch
itself o utomticlly s soon s the wter boils.
You cn switch o the kettle t ny time by moving the ON/
OFF switch (5) into the OFF (0) position.
Note: The kettle cnnot be switched o by hnd if the switch
is obstructed for movement, or if the ON/OFF switch is
pressed into the ON (I) position.
4  POURING OUT WATER
To remove the kettle from the bse unit (7), hold it by its
hndle. Ensure tht the kettle body remins level while lifting
it from the bse unit (7).
Pour the wter from the spout with the lid (1) closed.
Note: Plese tke cre when pouring out wter s boiling

5 - SWITCHING THE KETTLE ON AGAIN
If the kettle ws switched o by hnd, it cn be switched on
gin t ny time.

Fixieren Sie den Schalter nicht gewaltsam in der EINStellung

Stellen Sie ds Gert uf eine stbile, ebene Oberlche,
die weder heiss ist noch sich in der Nhe einer Hitzequelle
beindet. Die Oberlche muss trocken sein. Hlten Sie ds
Gert und ds Netzkbel usser Reichweite von Kindern.
Stellen Sie den Sockel des Wsserkochers whrend der
Verwendung nicht uf ein Metlltblett oder eine ndere
Metlllche.
Überprüfen Sie, ob die uf dem Typenschild des Gerts
ngegebene Spnnung mit der Netzspnnung in Ihrer
Region übereinstimmt. Schliessen Sie ds Gert nur n
eine ordnungsgemss geerdete Steckdose mit einer
Ausgngsleistung von mindestens 6A n. (Verwenden Sie
einen Fehlerstromschutzschlter (RCD), frgen Sie einen
Elektriker um Rt.) Whrend der Verwendung des Gerts
muss die Steckdose im Notfll gut zugnglich sein. Für
Unflle, die durch eine mngelhfte oder nicht vorhndene
Erdung des Gerts verurscht werden, ist der Hersteller nicht
verntwortlich.
Ist die Steckdose für den Stecker Ihres Gerts nicht geeignet,

1  NETZKABEL
Es wird ein kurzes Netzkbel mitgeliefert, um die Gefhr zu
verringern, dss Sie sich in einem lngen Kbel verheddern
oder drüber stolpern.

1 - WASSERKOCHER FÜLLEN
Nehmen Sie den Gertekörper vom Sockel (7) b.
Önen Sie den Deckel (1), füllen Sie Wsser ein und
schliessen Sie den Deckel wieder.
Füllen Sie nicht weniger ls 0.15l / 4 oz(9) und nicht mehr
ls 0.5l / 17 oz (bis zur MAXMrke) (8) in den Wsserkocher
ein. So verhindern Sie, dss er trocken luft oder kochendes
Wsser us der Giessönung spritzt.
2 - STROMVERSORGUNG ANSCHLIESSEN
Nchdem Sie den Wsserkocher gefüllt hben, stellen Sie ihn
uf den Sockel (7). Achten Sie druf, dss der Gertekörper
richtig uf der Kontkteinheit uf dem Sockel (7) sitzt.
Stecken Sie den Netzstecker in eine Steckdose und kippen
Sie den EIN/AUSSchlter (5) in die EIN (I) Position
1 - KALKFILTER
Klk oder Klzium ist ein ntürlicher Sto, der sich beim
Kochen von «hrtem» Wsser blgert. Der Filter (3) dient
dzu, den Klk im Wsserkocher zurückzuhlten.
2 - FILTER REINIGEN UND HERAUSNEHMEN
Der Filter (3) muss regelmssig gereinigt werden. Er ist in den
Gertekörper eingerstet und knn entfernt werden, in dem
Sie ihn nch oben us dem Gertekörper ziehen. Reinigen
Sie ihn unter liessendem Wsser durch bürsten mit einer
weichen Bürste.

2  WASSERKOCHER MANUELL AUSSCHALTEN
Mit dem EIN/AUSSchlter (5) können Sie den Wsserkocher
uch bschlten, bevor ds Wsser kocht.
3  SICHERHEITSABSCHALTUNG
Der Wsserkocher ist vor Schden durch zu wenig Wsser
geschützt. Eine Sicherheitsbschltung schltet ds Gert
utomtisch b, wenn ds Heizelement zu heiss wird.
Sollte der Wsserkocher jemls whrend des Betriebs
trocken lufen, müssen Sie ihn zehn Minuten lng bkühlen
lssen, bevor Sie ihn wieder mit kltem Wsser füllen. Die
Sicherheitsbschltung wird utomtisch zurückgesetzt,
wenn der Wsserkocher bgekühlt ist.
4  VOR GEBRAUCH DES WASSERKOCHERS
Reinigen Sie den Wsserkocher vor dem ersten Gebruch.
Füllen Sie ihn dzu vollstndig (bis zur MAXMrke) (8) mit
Wsser, bringen Sie ds Wsser zum Kochen und giessen Sie
es dnn weg.
Hinweis: Achten Sie druf, dss der EIN/AUSSchlter frei
beweglich ist.
3 - AUSSCHALTEN
Ihr Wsserkocher besitzt einen utomtischen EIN/AUS-
Schlter und schltet sich utomtisch b, sobld ds
Wsser kocht.
Sie können den Wsserkocher jederzeit usschlten, indem
Sie den EIN/AUSSchlter (5) in die AUS (0) Position kippen.
Hinweis: Der Wsserkocher knn nicht von Hnd
usgeschltet werden, wenn der Schlter blockiert ist oder
der EIN/AUSSchlter in Richtung EIN (I) Position gedrückt
wird.
4 - WASSER AUSGIESSEN
Hlten Sie den Wsserkocher beim Hndgri, um ihn
vom Sockel (7) bzunehmen. Achten Sie druf, dss der
Gertekörper wgrecht bleibt, whrend Sie ihn vom Sockel
(7) nehmen.
Giessen Sie ds Wsser bei geschlossenem Deckel (1) us der
Giessönung.
Hinweis: Seien Sie beim Ausgiessen des Wssers vorsichtig,
Sie können sich mit kochendem Wsser verbrühen.
5 - WASSERKOCHER WIEDER EINSCHALTEN
Hben Sie den Wsserkocher von Hnd usgeschltet,
können Sie ihn jederzeit wieder einschlten.
Sie können den Wsserkocher wieder einschlten, sobld der
eingebute thermische Sicherheitsschlter genügend Zeit
zum Abkühlen htte.
