BreakingIn
Yourmachinehasbeenoperatedforashorttimeatthefactorytoassuregoodperformance.It
canhowevernotbeconsideredbrokenin.Itnormallytakes5to10hoursofoperationforallparts
tobepolishedbythegrainstreamandforthemachinetocomeuptofullcapacity.
Werecommendthefollowingchecksduringthebreakinperiod:
A. After operating for 1/2 hour -
1. Checkforoverheatedbearing.Lubricateoradjustasrequired*.
2. Checkforoilleaks.Tightenorreplacepartandoilasrequired*
ForBestPerformance
1. Workingareashouldbereasonablylevel

drivelineanglesataminimum.

roomforthereceivingvehicletogetunder
thedischargecyclone.

anddischargelength.Toobtainmaximum
performance,trydifferentairlockspeed,using
aboveguide.
Aruleofthumbisthelargerandheavierthe
kernel,thefastertheairlockshouldturn.
Tip-withlightoats,orotherlightgrains,slow
PTOspeeddownto900or950RPM.
Adjusting Speed
Usingastopwatch,theairlockcanbeset
bycountingthenumberofturnsthecoupler
makes.Couplerisvisiblethroughthethree
slotsinthedeckofthemachine(photoright).
Oneturnpersecondequals60RPM.
AdjustairlockRPMbymovingtheairlock
speedleveronyourcontrolpaneltowards
#10toincreasespeed,toward#1toslow
down.Moveleverslowly,asmallmovement
willmakeasignificantchangeinairlockspeed.

Adjusttheairslideonthefullbinnozzleso
thatthematerialmovesacrossthesightglass
windowofthereceivertanktoapproximately
halfway(nomorethan2/3)upthewindow.If
themachinestartstosurge,slowlyopenslide
tillsurgingstops.

Note:Shouldthematerial stop movingandcompletely cover the sight glass
windowinthereceivertank,themachinewillquicklyplug.Immediatelyopenthe
airslidefully,onthefullbinnozzle,toallowthemachinetoclearitself.Remove
thenozzlefromthegrainandforwardandreversetheairlockseveraltimesto
emptythetank.Thenensuretheairlockisturningcounterclockwiseandresume
operationasnormal.Otherwisefollowthenext6steps:
IMPORTANT:Ifthemachinestilldoesnotclear
itselfdothefollowing:
a. Stopmachinebyslowlyreducingtractor
RPMtoanidle,thendisengagePTO.
Removedustpailwhichwillallowany
materialinthebottomofBlowerProtection
Cyclone(BPS)torunout.
b. Removenozzlefromgrainsource
c. StartthemachineandallowtheReceiver
tanktoemptyitself.Thenstopmachine
again
d.RemovethetopontheBPSandcleanout
anymaterialinthetopofthecycloneandin
thepipebetweenthereceivertankandthe
BPS.
e. ReplacetheDustpailandtheToponthe
BPS.
f. Startmachine,(RECHECKAIRLOCKSPEED,
page16)andresettheairslideasperstart
upinstructions. Note:Airlockshouldnotturnfasterthan
65RPMorslowerthan30RPM.

Remember:Thestraighterthesuctionlinethe
greaterthecapacityofthegrainvac.
CleanUp
Whenthemachineneedsnottobeatfull
capacity,e.g.whencleaningbins,thetractor
canbethrottleddown.
Therougherwallsofthesteelexhoseandthe
polyintakehoseprovidemoreresistancethan
smoothpipe.Capacitymaybeloweredby20%
to40%comparedtostraightpiping.
Use Poly hose for clean up only.
Forregularcleanupuseacombinationofsteel
flexline,straightpipingandpolyhose.This
willgiveyoutheneededflexibilitytoeasilyget
intocornersandaroundobstructionswithout
sacrificingtoomuchcapacity.
