-WINTERCARE-
Fountainbowls/topsandotherfountaincomponents,whichcollect water, shouldnotbeleftoutsideinthewinter since anycomponent,
whichfillswithwater andfreezesmaycrack.Likewisecomponentssuchaspedestals,whichremaininabasin,filledwithwater,
whichthenfreezes,mayalsocrackor crumble. Ideally, therefore, afountainshouldalwaysbestoredindoorsor inadryprotected
place suchasacoveredporchawayfromtheelements. However, ifafountainmustbeleftoutside:
(1) Removepump, rubber stoppers, drainpipes, finials,andother smallcomponentsfor storageindoors. Note that stoppersor
drainpipesareremovedtoallowdrainageintheeventwater accumulatesinanybasin.
(2) Raisefountainbasefromgroundwithwood stripssothat basewill notfreeze tothegroundsurface.
(3) Cover or wrapthefountainwithburlapor other absorbentmaterial (oldblanket or towel) andthencover securelywith
plastic,making surethat water will notaccumulate inthebasinor other fountaincomponentandfreeze;
(4) Checkfountainperiodicallytoinsurethat plastic issecureandwater isnotaccumulating inanyfountaincomponent.
-GENERALFOUNTAINTIPS-
Install fountainsonalevel surface. Youwill needaproperlygrounded110-volt (AConly) GFCI protectedreceptaclenear the
fountainfor your pump. All pumpsaresubmersible andmustbecompletelyunderwater tofunctionproperly. Testall pumpsand
adjusttofull outputprior toassembly. Itisnotrecommendedthat fountainsbeplaceddirectlyongrass or dirt. Positionthechannel
opening at thebaseofeachfountaintoward theelectrical outlet tobeusedsince thepump
cord willbethreadedthroughthisopening.

1. Place thebasin (FT-29C/30D)intoposition
where thefountain will beinstalled, ensuring
thatitislevel.
2. Assemblethepumpkit
a. Connectthe3/4"cleartubingofthe
preassembledtubingto thepumpby
sliding it over thepumpadapter
b. Place thestopper aroundthepumpcord
approximately8inchesfromthepump.
3. Feedthepumpcordthrough theholeinthe
basin(FT-29C/30D)andthechannel.
4. FIRMLY press thestopper intotheholeevenly.
a. Note:Usingthehandleofascrewdriverorhammer works best
to press thestopper inplace.
5. Place thepumpcover(FT-29B/30C) over thepump. Ensureitis
placedproperlyand leveled.
BOTTOMOFCOLUMN (FT-29B)
6. Securethe2openended6”piecesofnon-kinktubing to the2pipes
protruding fromthebottomofthecolumn(FT-30B).
7. Center thecolumn(FT-29B)ontop ofthepumpcover (FT-
29B/30C).
INSIDEOFCOLUMN (FT-29B)
8. Useahoseclampto attachthe18”lengthofnon-kinktubing to one
ofthetwopipesprotruding on theinsideofthecolumn(FT-30B).
9. Useanotherhoseclampto secure the18”non-kinktubing to thepipe
protruding fromthebottomoftheobelisk (FT-29A).
10.Center theobelisk(FT-29A)overthecolumn(FT-29B).
11.Place thepumpcoverdoor(FT-29B/30CC)in thepumpaccess
openingofthepumpcover
(FT-29C/30D).
12.Fillthebasinwithwater.
