-WINTERCARE-
Fountainbowls/topsandotherfountaincomponents,whichcollect water, shouldnotbeleftoutsideinthewinter since anycomponent,
whichfillswithwater andfreezesmaycrack.Likewise, componentssuchaspedestals,whichremaininabasin,filledwithwater,
whichthenfreezes,mayalsocrackor crumble. Ideally, therefore, afountainshouldalwaysbestoredindoorsor inadryprotected
place suchasacoveredporchawayfromtheelements. However, ifafountainmustbeleftoutside:
(1) Removepump, rubber stoppers, drainpipes, finials,andother smallcomponentsfor storageindoors. Note that stoppersor
drainpipesareremovedtoallowdrainageintheeventwater accumulatesinanybasin.
(2) Raisefountainbasefromgroundwithwood stripssothat basewill notfreeze tothegroundsurface.
(3) Cover or wrapthefountainwithburlapor other absorbentmaterial (oldblanket or towel) andthencover securelywith
plastic,making surethat water will notaccumulate inthebasinor other fountaincomponentandfreeze;
(4) Checkfountainperiodicallytoinsurethat plastic issecureandwater isnotaccumulating inanyfountaincomponent.
-GENERALFOUNTAINTIPS-
Install fountainsonalevel surface. Youwill needaproperlygrounded110-volt (AConly) GFCI protectedreceptaclenear the
fountainfor your pump. All pumpsaresubmersible andmustbecompletelyunderwater tofunctionproperly. Testall pumpsand
adjusttofull outputprior toassembly. Itisnotrecommendedthat fountainsbeplaceddirectlyongrass or dirt. Positionthechannel
opening at thebaseofeachfountaintoward theelectrical outlet tobeusedsince thepump
cord willbethreadedthroughthisopening.

1. Place thebase(FT-282E)intopositionwhere thefountainwillbe
installed, ensuringthatitislevel.
2. Center thelargebowl (FT-282D)onthebase(FT-282E)
3. Assemblethepumpkit
a. Using ahoseclamp, attachthe12”piece of1/2”non-kink
tubingtothepumpoutlet.
b. Place ahoseclampover the5/8”clear end ofthetubing.
c. Place thestopper aroundthepumpcordapproximately6”
fromthepump.
4. Feedthepumpcordthrough theholeinthelargebowl(FT-282D)
andthrough thebase(FT-282E).
5. FIRMLY pressthestopper intotheholeevenly.
a. Note:Usingthehandleofascrewdriverorhammer works
besttopress thestopper inplace.
6. Place thepumpcover(FT-282B) over thepumpandinthecenter
ofthelargebowl(FT-282D).
7. Using thehoseclamp, connectthe5/8”clear tubingtothecopper
pipeprotruding fromthebottomofthefinial(FT-282A).
8. Center thefinial(FT-282A)onthepumpcover (FT-282B).
9. Fit thepumpcover door(FT-282C) intothepumpcover (FT-
282B).
10.Fillthefountainwithwater.
