1. Introduction
The varioPRINT 6000 TITAN Series Customer Expectations Document contains
information about the features and capabilities of the varioPRINT 6000 Standard
TITAN, TP TITAN, and MICR TITAN. This document should be used as part of the
presale and pre-installation planning processes to help clarify the requirements
and responsibilities associated with supporting, owning, and operating the
varioPRINT 6000 TITAN Series machines. It is also recommended that those
interested in purchasing these machines have, and familiarize themselves with, the
information in this document prior to making their purchase.
2. Product Overview
The varioPRINT 6000 Standard TITAN and TP TITAN consist of the varioPRINT
6330, 6270, 6220, and 6180 models. The varioPRINT 6000 MICR (Magnetic Ink
Character Recognition) TITAN consists of the varioPRINT 6270, 6220, and 6180
models. These models are black-and-white, digital, duplex, cut-sheet printers that
are powered by the Gemini Instant Duplex Technology. This technology
simultaneously presses images onto both sides of the paper in a single pass,
which delivers accurate registration and offset-class quality. These models are for
users who print in a high-volumes.
IMPORTANT
•There is a risk of toner abrasion with all toner-based printing technologies. The
risk is highest with friction-fed finishing or inserting equipment. We recommend
that a customer runs test prints on their media through their offline finishing and
inserting equipment prior to purchase. Please contact your authorized Canon
dealer and Canon Production Sales Consultant for sample prints for testing.
•Friction-fed finishing is not recommended due to the risk of slight toner abrasion.
•When running certain applications, which contain large areas of heavy coverage
of solid black toner, the user may observe some minor density changes from the
lead-edge to trail-edge on the print.

•Prints two-sided LTR (Letter-size) documents in up to 320 ipm, depending on the
speed license set purchased (i.e., 320 ipm, 266 ipm, 216 ipm, or 177 ipm)1.
•Supports up to 12 paper trays with a total paper capacity of 13,800 sheets (20 lb
bond (80 g/m2)), and a roll feeder2(the roll feeder acts as a third PIM). If the Duo
Tray3option is installed in all supported trays, the total letter-size capacity is
increased to a maximum of 24,000 sheets.
•Supports up to three stackers, a Set Finisher, and other external finishers.
•Supports a large range of media, media sizes, and media weights (including
light-weight media of approximately 12 lb bond/30 lb text4(45 g/m2)(with the
purchase of the optional Light Weight Media Kit5).
•Print operations can expand services to include high-volume applications, such
as books, course materials, training and technical manuals, booklets, catalogs,
variable data printing, and trans-promotional printing.
2.2 varioPRINT 6000 TP TITAN Series
•Prints two-sided LTR (Letter-size) documents in up to 320 ipm, depending on the
speed license set purchased (i.e., 320 ipm, 266 ipm, 216 ipm, or 177 ipm)1.
•Uses wax toner that is supported by the post-fuser PrintGuard IV.
•Supports up to 12 paper trays with a total paper capacity of 13,800 sheets (20 lb
bond (80 g/m2)), and a roll feeder2(the roll feeder acts as a third PIM). If the Duo
Tray3option is installed in all supported trays, the total letter-size capacity is
increased to a maximum of 24,000 sheets.
•Supports up to three stackers, a Set Finisher, and other external finishers.
•Supports a large range of media, media sizes, and media weights.
•Optimal printer for transactional and direct mail environments with demanding
offline finishing requirements and mail stream durability requirements. In these
environments, there is a risk of toner abrasion with all technologies. We
recommend that a customer tests this prior to purchase.
•Transactional applications include: invoices, monthly statements, insurance
policies, credit card bills, explanation of benefits, letters, contracts, and notices.
•Direct mail applications include: postcards, solicitation letters, flyers, custom
mailers, and interactive documents with QR codes.

•Uses magnetic toner to provide a secure, high-speed method of scanning and
processing information.
•Supports up to 12 paper trays with a total paper capacity of 13,800 sheets (20 lb
bond (80 g/m2)), and a roll feeder2(the roll feeder acts as a third PIM). If the Duo
Tray3option is installed in all supported trays, the total letter-size capacity is
increased to a maximum of 24,000 sheets.
•Supports up to three stackers, a Set Finisher, and other external finishers.
•Supports a large range of media, media sizes, and media weights.
•Standard Secure IPDS Printing for MICR. Also, supports PostScript 3, PDF, and
PCL6.
•Optimal for printing secure and accurate checks and other negotiable documents.
•Use the same engine to print books, booklets, manuals, invoices, statements,
direct mail, policies, and other duplex documents.

CAUTION
Do not reprint any documents (for example, checks) that have been made
on the varioPRINT 6000 TITAN Series machines on a different machine that
uses laser technology. Doing this may cause damage to the machine and
to the document.

2.4 PRISMAsync Controller
The PRISMAsync controller enables the customer to streamline their workflow and
turnout more work in less time with the following standard features:
•Supports IPv6 and IPv4 IP addresses
•Supports 250 Hot Folders for increased workflow automation
•Adobe APPE for native PDF printing
•Ability to edit media sizes on the operator panel
•Displays progress information on uncompleted jobs in the waiting queue
•Ability to make custom media sizes as the default paper size from the PCL
driver
•Scheduler - Plan-ahead functionality for multiple jobs simultaneously6.
•Transaction printing with the latest SRA Bundle 15, which integrates with PCL6
•Copy To – Enables the user to copy jobs directly from one PRISMAsync engine
to another PRISMAsync engine.
•PRISMAsync controller settings are accessible with the Web Settings Editor.
The Web Settings Editor includes a search function for quick access to settings.
•A waiting and scheduled jobs queue and a printed job archive.
•PDF/VT (Variable/Transactional) printing
•Streaming (spooling, RIPing, printing, and cleaning up simultaneously).
•Embedded CIP4-compliant JDF (Job Definition Format) and JMF (Job
Messaging Format) interface.
•DocBox (optional), a job repository on the UI
•Multiple standard and customizable workflow profiles.
•Media-based operations with the PRISMAsync Media Catalogue
•Remote Manager for remote job submissions, and the monitoring of multiple
PRISMAsync engines
•Remote Control app that enables operators to receive real-time notifications of
upcoming operator actions, and alerts to immediate actions required.
•Supports User Authentication, a configurable UI, and options, such as Integrity
Checker and e-Shredding for secure printing.
•PRISMAlytics Dashboard, which collects production data, such as engine use
and production output, directly from the engine, and presents a comprehensive
overview for the operator.

2.4.1 PRISMAsync Standard Features
The PRISMAsync controller has the following standard features:
•Remote Manager – Enables the user to view and control the varioPRINT 6000
TITAN Series machines, and manage up to five (5) PRISMAsync-based
engines. The new Remote Manager features include stop and resume printer
controls, auto refresh and reconnect, media management, split records,
submission of XRX print-ready and PPML files, and tablet support.
•Remote Control App – Provides the operator with preventive and emergency
notifications, such as when the engine stops, when and where media must be
loaded, and when to empty the output tray, from the printer via a mobile device.
•PRISMAlytics Dashboard – Collects production data, such as engine use and
production output directly from the engine, and presents a comprehensive
overview for the operator.
•Enhanced Media Usability – Enables users to quickly search, sort, and filter
media from the media catalog on the Operator Panel, Settings Editor, and
printer driver. The same search, sort, and filter window is used from all media
selection points. This feature also enables users to create new media
definitions, in which the user can define all media attributes on the operator
panel or select media from a pre-installed media library. User can also copy
existing media to new media on the operator panel and in the Settings Editor.
•Artificial Record Split for VDP – Enables large jobs to be split into records of
a fixed length, ether via an automated workflow or the operation panel. This
enhances productivity when handling large, flat, record-based PDF files.
IMPORTANT
The user can change the record length of a VDP job; however, the user
cannot change a VDP job into a normal job.

•Extend VDP Capabilities with PPML Support – This feature requires an
optional license, and extends the VDP capabilities, by enabling the user to:
-Make a proof print of the first record
-Stop on a record’s boundary
-Keep a record together in the output location
-Print a range of records
-Have record-based jam recovery
-Have the same job settings applied to each record of the job
•Security – The following security related improvements are:
-Embedded Integrity Checker (requires an optional license)
-A System Administrator is in control of the PRISMAsync controller, and can
assign rights to users
-Restrict installation of a system software update
-WebDAV support for SMB hot folders
-Encrypted user passwords
-Authorization is required to view settings in the Setting Editor
-User Authentication and configurable UI

2.4.2 PRISMAsync System Software V8.5 Features
The features and improvements included with PRISMAsync V8.5 (PRISMAsync
Mark 8.1.2) are:
•“Advanced Imposition Layout” Option – Using the new option, operators
can set standard and custom imposition layout patterns for non-variable data
jobs directly at the local UI:
•Fold imposition
•Same Up
•Cut & Stack
•Manual gutters (across sheet)
•Align & Shift (across sheet)
•Print/Trim Marks
•Multiple Job Edit – Users can apply the same job parameters to multiple jobs
at the same time using an Automated Workflow.
•Edit/View Automated Workflow (AWF) settings at UI – Automated Workflow
can be set at the engine in addition to in the Settings Editor.
•Secure JMF - An increased level of security is introduced by extending the
JMF support settings group to enable configuring JMF over HTTPS.
•JMF Status Improvement - In addition to DeviceStatus and Status details, the
new and always-unique “StatusDescription” helps operators understand the
cause of an issue and how to address it.
•Warning Light Customizing for Consumables – Users can customize which
consumable situations cause display of the warning light. Users can select from
Input Trays, Output Trays, Toner Consumables, and Finishers Waste.
•Barcode Printout on Banner Page – Job names can be printed in Code39
barcode on the job banner or trailer page, allowing operators to scan the job
name during the production print flow.

It is mandatory that the user purchase either one Paper Input Module
Standard-B1 or one Paper Input Module Flex-A1, a power supply option
(either 1-L15-30R, 208 to 240V AC, 3-phase, 30 A, or 1-NEMA 14-50R, 208 to
240V AC, Single-Phase, 50 A), and 1-High Capacity Stacker option (HCS 2.1
Top Cover-B2 or 1-HCS 2.1 with Set Finisher-B2).

2.6 Input and Output Accessories
The varioPRINT 6000 TITAN Series features many input and output accessories
that allow customers to complete large jobs directly from the machine. For more
information on the input and output accessories that can be attached to the
machine, see “Specifications,” on p. 30.
2.6.1 Input Accessories
•Paper Input Module-B1 7(PIM); two additional PIM-B1s (optional) can be
attached for a maximum of three.
•PIM Flex-A17; two additional PIM Flex-A1s (optional) can be attached for a
maximum of three.
•Duo Paper Tray-C1 for the PIM-B1 – increases capacity per tray to 3,400 letter-
size sheets (left stack: 1,800 sheets; right stack: 1,600 sheets). This increases
each PIM-B1’s letter-size media capacity to 8,000 sheets when Duo Paper
Tray-C1 is installed in all supported trays (for a total capacity of 24,000 sheets
when 3 PIMs are attached).
•7” x 10” Statement Size Paper Insert for the PIM-B1
•TECNAU SheetFeeder VP 6000 (feeder and cutter)

3.3 Dimensions Diagrams
The installation site must provide enough space for unrestricted operation,
maintenance work, and proper ventilation. Every attempt should be made to install
the equipment in a room that is large enough for the proper servicing and
maintenance of the equipment, and ensure that issues, such as ventilation, odors,
and dust accumulation are not a concern.
Minimum Configuration26
Provide at least 19.7” around the left and right sides of the machine (excluding any external finishing options). Provide
at least 23.6”27 at the back of the machine, and at least 67” around the front of the machine (with all doors and access
panels open).
Height Requirements
