Operation
Before using, please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with some initial steps and a basic understanding of the
operation of your new ADJUSTABELL® Dumbbell. The adjustable dumbbell is shipped fully assembled. Be careful when
removing the dumbbell from the box because the product is VERY heavy. Inspect all parts for any signs of damage. If
product is damaged, do not use and contact CAP Barbell customer service at customerservice@capbarbell.com or 877-
227-0955 (M~F from 7am to 4:30pm EST) Place the ADJUSTABELL® cradle on a flat, level, stable surface.
SELECTING THE REQUIRED WEIGHT:
1. Adjust the weight by rotating the handle to select your preferred weight.

4
Locking Mechanism
The locking mechanism will only let the adjustment turn when the dumbbell handle fully engages the dumbbell base.
The mechanism prevents deselecting (dropping) weight plates from the dumbbell when it is NOT in the dumbbell base.
The mechanism will lock the dumbbell handle to the base if the adjustment does not fully engage with weight plate
selection.
The shape of each plate features grooves that allow weight plates to join together in an up/down orientation.
Plates must be facing in the proper direction. (See figure below).
USING THE DUMBBELL
Push down slightly on the handle grip to make sure it is fully seated in the base. Rotate the handle to make sure it
turns freely in both directions.
The weight increments of each dumbbell range from 10 to 55 lbs. To properly select a given weight, rotate the
handle until the desired number. Make sure there is a click at each weight increment. This click will help you align
the handle correctly to make a weight selection.
To use the dumbbell, lift it straight upward off the tray so that any unselected plates remain in the tray.
You may increase or decreased the selected weight by rotating each handle left or right. Make sure there is a click
at each weight increment.
When you remove or return the dumbbell to the cradle, use a vertical motion, perpendicular
to the base.
Do not tilt or move the dumbbell vertically until it is fully clear of the unselected weight
plates.

5
ADJUSTING THE WEIGHT
For added safety, the ADJUSTABELL® weight adjust system can only be used when the dumbbell is docked with the
cradle that holds the dumbbell. No knobs to turn, pins to align, or levers to slide –just twist and go! The ADJUSTABELL®
technology allows quick and easy weight adjustments with the simple twist of each dumbbell handle. Once the desired
weight is shown in the adjustment window, you are ready to go!
HANDLE
The ADJUSTABELL® dumbbell handle is designed to provide you with a secure and comfortable grip during your
workouts. The handle (without any weights attached) weighs just about 10 lbs. This allows beginners to perform
exercises with lighter weights.
CRADLE
The ADJUSTABELL® dumbbell is designed to work with the included cradle. The cradle keeps the weight plates in the
correct position in order for you to properly engage and disengage the dumbbell handle
WEIGHT PLATES
The ADJUSTABELL® weight plates are designed to work together. The shape of each plate features grooves that allow
them to join together in an up/down orientation when you adjust the weight by twisting the handle (which can only be
done while in the cradle),
Troubleshooting
Parts List
Problem
Solution
Handle will not turn to select the
desired weight.
Confirm that the handle is fully depressed down into the cradle.
The locking mechanism will not be released until the handle fully engages the
cradle. Once the handle fully engages the cradle, then the handle should turn
freely to select desired weight. You cannot change weight selection without
the handle fully engaging the cradle.

Training for Success
How you start exercising, depends on your physical condition. If you have been inactive for awhile or you have a
preexisting health condition, you should start slowly. Initially you may only be able to exercise for a short amount of
time using minimal resistance levels or weight loads.
Begin your desired training program slowly and gradually increase the amount of time you exercise. Apply realistic
goals that have been set by you or your physician. You should see sufficient gains in your personal fitness level within
4-6 weeks of continuous exercise, but do not be discouraged if it takes longer. It is very important to exercise at your
own pace and become confident in obtaining your goals. It is also important to apply warm-up, stretching, and cool
down periods with any exercise program.
As your fitness level increases, so will your confidence and sense of accomplishment. Regular exercise and a healthy
diet will energize you and offer a sense of well-being.
