Beforeusing your unit for thefirst time,download theCardo Connect App and follow theon-screen instructionsto
activateand updateyour PACKTALKCUSTOM to thelatest software.
On the Cardo Connect App,you can also upgradeyour unit with thefeature-set of your choice.For more

2. GETTINGSTARTED
2.1 GETTINGTOKNOWYOURPACKTALKCUSTOM
2.2 CHARGINGYOURPACKTALKCUSTOM
Makesurethat your PACKTALKCUSTOM batteryischarged for at least 4hoursbeforeinitial use.
To charge the unit:
1. Using thesupplied USBcable,connect your computer or wall charger to theUSB port on your PACKTALK
CUSTOM.
2. Fast charging:
●Youwill have2hoursof talktimeafter 20minutesof charging.(1.5- 2hoursfor full charge).
Whilecharging,theLEDindicatesthecharging statusasfollows:
●Red LEDon — charging
●Red LEDoff — charging complete
TIP:You can checkthebatterychargeat anytimein theCardo Connect App.
You can also say "Hey Cardo, battery status".

2.3 ECO-MODE
You can activateEco-Modein theSettingsof theCardo Connect App.You will get up to 20%longer operation.
DMCwill be shut down when you arenot using it.After disconnecting from theDMCgroup for morethan two
minutes,presstheintercom button to reactivate.
2.4 SWITCHINGYOURUNITON/OFF
To switch your PACKTALK CUSTOMon:
●Pressboth and for 2 seconds.
Thespeaker playsastartup sound.
TheLEDconfirmsyour PACKTALKCUSTOM ison:
●Normal battery— LEDflashesblueonce,then green
●Low battery— LEDflashesbluethreetimes,then green
●Charging — LEDflashesred and green
To switch your PACKTALK CUSTOM off:
●Press and for 2seconds.

TheLEDflashesred threetimes,confirming that your unit isswitching off.Thespeaker playsasound and a
voicemessageindicatesthebatterystatus,"BatteryStatusX%".
2.5 USINGYOURPACKTALKCUSTOM
You can operatethevariousfeaturesof your PACKTALKCUSTOM in thefollowing ways:
●Pressabutton or acombination of buttonson theunit
●UsetheCardo Connect App on your mobiledevice (onceit ispaired with theunit)
●Usenatural voiceoperation (bysaying acommand,for example"Hey Cardo, Radio On").
2.6 PAIRINGYOURUNITTOBLUETOOTHDEVICES
Your PACKTALKCUSTOM hasoneBluetooth channel for connection to Bluetooth devicessuch asmobilephones,
GPSdevices,and TFT BikeInfotainment.
Asecond Bluetooth channel for second phone,GPSor TFTisavailablewith Pay-Per-Feature.
To connect your unit to aBluetooth device,you must first pair them.Oncepaired,they automatically recognize
each other whenever they arewithin range.
●If you arepairing theunit to morethan onemobilephone,thephonepaired with channel 1 isthedefault
phonefor outgoing calls.
To pair to a mobile phone:
1. EnableBluetooth on your mobilephone.
2. On theunit in standby mode,press for 5 seconds.
TheLEDflashesred and blue.
3. On your mobilephone,search for Bluetooth devices.
4. When your PACKTALKCUSTOM appearsin thelist of availabledevices,select it.
If prompted for aPINor Passkey,enter 0000(fourzeros).If prompted to allow pairing on yourphone,allow it.

Thephoneconfirmsthat pairing hassucceeded and theLED flashespurplefor 2seconds.Avoicemessage
confirms"Phoneconnected".
To pair to another Bluetooth device:
1. EnableBluetooth on thedevice(for example,your second mobilephone,GPSdevice.,or TFT).
2. On theunit in standby modepress for 5 seconds.
TheLEDflashesred and bluerapidly.
3. Depending on theBluetooth device:
a. For aGPS,tap once.
b. For aTFT,roll thecontrol wheel backward.
c. For asecond phone,roll thewheel forward.
Theled flashesred and green.
4. On thedeviceyou arepairing,search for Bluetooth devices.
5. When your PACKTALKCUSTOM appearsin thelist of availabledevices,select it.
If prompted for aPINor Passkey,enter 0000(fourzeros).If prompted to allow pairing on yourphone,allow it.
Thedeviceconfirmsthat pairing hassucceeded and theLEDflashespurplefor 2 seconds.
●If pairing isnot completed within 2minutes,theunit automatically returnsto Standby.
●Not all Bluetooth GPSdevicesallow connection to Bluetooth audio devices.Consult your GPSUser Manual
for moreinformation.

3. CARDO CONNECT APP
TheCardo Connect App enablesyou to configurethesettingsof your PACKTALKCUSTOM.In addition,the App
offersyou remotecontrolled operation from thescreen of your smartphone.
3.1 ACTIVATINGYOURUNIT
In order to useyour PACKTALKCUSTOM you first need to activateit.Activation isthrough theApp
1. Download theCardo Connect App.
2. Register
3. Activateyou unit.

4. Select your language.
3.2 UPDATINGYOURUNIT
Beforeusing your unit for thefirst time,and whenever anew softwareupdateisavailable,makesureto havethe
latest softwareupdate.Updating with thelatest softwarekeepsyour unit freeof bugsand providesyou with
additional new functionalities.
Your PACKTALKCUSTOM softwareupdateisover-the-air viaCardo Connect App.
To update your PACKTALK CUSTOM unit :
After activation or whenever anew softwareupdate isavailable,apop-up will open on your App screen.Press
Install and follow theon-screen instructions.
If you pressRemind melater,thepop-up will re-open thenext day.
To updateyour PACKTALKCUSTOM:
1. Open Cardo Connect app.
2. PressSettings.

3. Select your unit.
4. Select thesoftwareversion.
5. PressUpdate Now.
When theupdateisfinished,pressFinish to go back to themain screen.
3.3 CUSTOMIZINGYOURUNITWITHPAY-PER-FEATURES
You can chooseafeaturespackageof your choiceand upgradeyour PACKTALKCustom for theperiod that you
need.
3packagesareavailable:SILVER,GOLDand PLATINUM.Each packageincludesadifferent set afeatures.In this
manual,they will beindicated with thePay Per Featureicon.
In Settings,you can seeyour activepackageat anymoment.
You can also cancel or switch between packagesat anytime.
Follow theon-screen instructionsand watch thePay Per Featuretutorial for moreinformation.
3.3.1 TOUPGRADEYOURUNIT
In theCardo Connect App,follow theon-screen instructionsto chooseaset of featuresand upgradeyour unit.
●On thePay-Per-Featurescreen,tap “Get Started”,and then “ChooseaPackage”.Scroll down thescreen to
discover thedifferent package offerings.Tap “down” to makesureyou view all thefeaturesin each package.
●Select amonthly or yearly plan.
●Tap "Unlock Package”,and confirm payment,with theApp Storeor with theGooglePlay Store.Your unit
should remain connected whileyour featuresarebeing updated.
●Your unit will beimmediately upgraded with theset of featuresyou chose.
●If you chooseafreetrial,you can cancel your packageuntil theday beforetheend of thefreetrial.If you don't
cancel,thepayment will start at theend of thetrial period.
●Youcan takethequick tutorial on your new featuresso you can get themost out of them.
●Alwaysmakesureto updateyour unit with thelatest software.
●Tap “Let’sRide”! You areready to go.
●You can seeyour current packagein the“Settings” of theCardo Connect App.Tap “MyPackage” and find
therethelist of theavailablefeaturesand your next payment date.You can also watch thetutorial bytapping
thequestion mark at thetop right of your screen.
●Packagesautomatically renew at theend of thesubscription period.
●If you skip PAY-PER-FEATURE,you can still subscribeat anymoment.Go to settings,select "Unlock All
Features"and start from here.
