1 Operating Manual
1.1 Important Safeguards
1. Read all instructions before using.
2. This appliance generates heat. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. To protect against electrocution do not immerse any part of the unit in liquid.
4. Children must be closely supervised when near the unit. Do not let children operate
the unit without close supervision.
5. Unplug the unit when not in use and before cleaning. Allow unit to cool before
cleaning.
6. Inspect the unit, its power cord and plug for any damage before using. If there appears
to be any damage or if the unit shows signs of malfunctioning, do not use the
appliance. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for inspection
and repair.
7. Do not use accessory attachments that have not been recommended by the
manufacturer.
8. Do not use outdoors.
9. Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces or hang over sharp edges such as those on
countertops.
10. To disconnect, turn any control to “off”, then remove plug from wall outlet.
11. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
12. Household use only.
13. The lid must be closed when using milk frother.
14. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycles.

These Operating Instructions are a component of the Milk Frother (referred to hereafter as
the Device) and provide you with important information for the initial commissioning,
safety, intended use and care of the device.
The Operating Instructions must be available at all times at the device. This Operating
Manual must be read and applied by every person who is instructed to work with the
device:

Keep the Operating Manual in a safe place and pass it on to the subsequent owner along

2 Safety
This chapter provides you with important safety notices when handling the device.
The device corresponds with the required safety regulations. Improper use can result in
personal or property damages.
2.1 Intended use
This device is only intended for use in households in enclosed spaces for
•Making milk foam and heating milk
Uses for a different purpose or for a purpose which exceeds this description are
considered incompatible with the intended or designated use.

Danger due to unintended use!
Dangers can emanate from the device if it is used for an unintended use and/or a different
kind of use.

►Observe the procedural methods described in this Operating Manual.
Claims of all kinds due to damages resulting from unintended uses are excluded.

3 Commissioning
This chapter provides you with important safety notices during the initial commissioning of
the device. Observe the following notices to avoid dangers and damages:

3.2 Delivery scope and transport inspection
As a rule, the Milk Frother is delivered with the following components:

►Examine the shipment for its completeness and for any visible damages.
►Immediately notify the carrier, the insurance and the supplier about any incomplete
shipment or damages as a result of inadequate packaging or due to transportation.
3.3 Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the device against damages during transit. The packaging materials
are selected in accordance with environmentally compatible and recycling-related points of
view and can therefore be recycled.
Returning the packaging back to the material loop saves raw materials and reduces the
quantities of accumulated waste. Take any packaging materials that are no longer required to
“Green Dot” recycling collection points for disposal.
Please note
►If possible, keep the original packaging for the device for the duration of the guarantee
period of the device, in order that the device can be re-packaged properly in the event of a
guarantee claim.
3.4 Setup
To ensure a safe and error free operation of the Device the location should fulfill the following
requirements:
•The device must be set up on a firm, flat, horizontal surface with sufficient load-bearing
capacity.
•Choose the setup location in such way that children cannot reach the device.
•The device is not intended to be installed in a wall or a built-in cupboard.
•Do not set up the device in a hot, wet or extremely damp environment or near flammable
material.
•The electrical socket must be easily accessible so that the power lead can be
disconnected easily, in the case of an emergency.
•The installation and assembly of this device in non-stationary setup locations (e.g. on
ships) must be carried out by specialist companies/electricians, provided they guarantee
the prerequesites for the safe use of this device.
3.5 Electrical connection
In order to ensure the safe and trouble-free operation of the device, the following instructions
must be observed for the electrical connection:
•Before connecting the device, compare the connection data (voltage and frequency) on the
rating plate with those of your electrical network. This data must agree in order that no
damages occur in the device If in doubt, ask your qualified electrician.
•The electrical outlet must be protected by a 16A safety cut-out switch.
•The connection between the device and the electrical network may employ a 3 meter long
(max.) extension cable with a cross-section of 1.5 mm². The use of multiple plugs or gangs
is prohibited because of the danger of fire that is involved with this.

•Make sure that the power cable is undamaged and has not been installed under the
milk frother or over hot or sharp surfaces.
•The electrical safety of the device is only guaranteed if the device is connected to a
properly installed protective conductor system. Operations using an electrical outlet
without a protective conductor are prohibited. If in doubt, have the house installation
checked over by a qualified electrician. The manufacturer cannot be made responsible
for damages that are caused by a missing or damaged protective conductor.
3.6 Power cord
A short power-supply cord is to be provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming
entangled in or tripping over a linger cord.
•Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be
used if care is exercised in their use.
•If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension cord
should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
- If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding
type 3-wire cord.
- The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter
- top or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.

device.

5 Operation and handling
This chapter provides you with important notices with regard to operating the device.
Observe the following notices to avoid dangers and damages.
Warning
►Do not let the Device unsupervised during operation to be able to react quickly in case
of dangers.
5.1 How to use
Please note
►The appliance has a touch key that can only be switched on; it switches off
automatically.
►To reduce the risk of injury, do not drape cord over the counter top or table top where it
can be pulled by children or triple over unintentionally.
With the milk frother you can make cold as well as warm milk froth.
The appliance has got three markings for the filling:
MIN: Fill milk at least up to that marking
MAX FROTH: Fill milk up to that maximum marking to make milk froth.
MAX MILK: When you want to heat milk but not froth it, you can fill milk up to that
maximum marking.
Please note
►Please note the maximum froth markings. Please use for milk froth only the MAX
FROTH marking. Otherwise so much foam will be made that the lid would lift and milk
would overflow.
Warm milk froth

Heating milk
1. Pleaseputthewhiskforfrothingintothewhiskholder.
2. Pressthepowerbuttontwice.
3. Thepowerbutoonblinksred.Thisisthesettingtoheatupmilk.
4. Thewhiskrotateswithreducedspeedinordertoensureevenheatdistributionandto
preventthemilkfromburning.

►Please touch the power button with your finger in such a manner that you can still see
the different settings.


Please note
►Please pour out the milk and the milk froth. By using a metal spoon or another object
with sharp edges you risk damaging the coating of the jug.
►Only fill milk into the appliance.

6 Cleaning and maintenance
This chapter provides you with important notices with regard to cleaning and maintaining
the device. Please observe the notices to prevent damages due to cleaning the device
incorrectly and to ensure trouble-free operation.
6.1 Safety information
Attention
Please observe the following safety notices, before you commence with cleaning the
device:
►Before cleaning, switch off the unit and take the power plug out of the outlet.
►Clean the appliances with a soft cloth.
►Don't clean the appliances with inflammable detergents.

►Clean the appliances again thoroughly when the machine hasn't been used for a long
time.
6.2 Cleaning
1. Take off the lid and the whisk holder. You can remove the magnetic whisk from the side
from its holder.
2. Clean the lid and the whisk as well as the jug of the milk frother with diluted detergent,
with warm water and a soft sponge or a cloth.
3. Do not use any hard or sharp-edged objects or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the
jug because the coating could by damaged.
4. Clean the lid and the whisk with lukewarm water. Rinse out the interior of the jug with
lukewarm water.
5. Clean the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth.
6. Jug and base are not suitable for dish washer.
7. Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
7 Troubleshooting
This chapter provides you with important notices with regard to operating the device.

8 Disposal of the Old Device
Old electric and electronic devices frequently still contain valuable materials. However,
they also contain damaging substances, which were necessary for their functionality and
safety.
If these were put in the non-recyclable waste or were handled incorrectly, they could be
detrimental to human health and the environment. Therefore, do not put your old device
into the non-recyclable waste under any circumstances.
Please note
►Utilise the collection point, established in yout own town, to return and recycle old
electric and electronic devices. If necessary, contact your town hall, local refuse
collection service or your dealer for information.
►Ensure that your old device is stored safely away from children until it is taken away.
9 Guarantee
We provide a 12 month guarantee for this product, commencing from the date of sale, for
faults which are attributable to production or material faults.
The guarantee does not include damages, which were incurred as a result of improper
handling or use, as well as malfunctions which only have a minor effect on the function or
the value of the device. Consumables, transit damages, inasmuch as we are not
responsible for these, as well as damages, which were incurred as a result of any repairs
that were not performed by us, are also excluded from the guarantee entitlements.
This device is designed for use in domestic situations and has the appropriate
performance levels.
Any use in commercial situations is only covered under the guarantee to the extent that it
would be comparable with the stresses of being used in a domestic situation. It is not
intended for any additional, commercial use.
In the event of justified complaints, we will repair the faulty device at our discretion or
replace it with a trouble-free device.
Any pending faults must be reported within 14 days of delivery.
All further claims are excluded.

11.1 Wichtige Schutzmaßnahmen

12 Sicherheit
In diesem Kapitel erhalten Sie wichtige Sicherheitshinweise im Umgang mit dem Gerät.
Dieses Gerät entspricht den vorgeschriebenen Sicherheitsbestimmungen. Ein
unsachgemäßer Gebrauch kann jedoch zu Personen und Sachschäden führen.
12.1 Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Dieses Gerät ist nur für den Gebrauch im Haushalt in geschlossenen Räumen zum
•Aufschäumen von Milch
•Erhitzen von Milch
bestimmt. Eine andere oder darüber hinausgehende Benutzung gilt als nicht
bestimmungsgemäß.
Gefahr durch nicht bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung!
Von dem Gerät können bei nicht bestimmungsgemäßer Verwendung und/oder
andersartiger Nutzung Gefahren ausgehen.
►Das Gerät ausschließlich bestimmungsgemäß verwenden.
►Die in dieser Bedienungsanleitung beschriebenen Vorgehensweisen einhalten.

Ansprüche jeglicher Art wegen Schäden aus nicht bestimmungsgemäßer Verwendung
sind ausgeschlossen.

13 Inbetriebnahme
In diesem Kapitel erhalten Sie wichtige Hinweise zur Inbetriebnahme des Gerätes.
Beachten Sie die Hinweise um Gefahren und Beschädigungen zu vermeiden.
13.1 Sicherheitshinweise
Bei der Inbetriebnahme des Gerätes können Personen- und Sachschäden
auftreten!
Beachten Sie die folgenden Sicherheitshinweise um die Gefahren zu vermeiden:
►Verpackungsmaterialien dürfen nicht zum Spielen verwendet werden. Es besteht
Erstickungsgefahr.
13.2 Lieferumfang und Transportinspektion
Der Milk Frother wird standardmäßig mit folgenden Komponenten geliefert:
•Milchaufschäumer
•Quirl zum Aufschäumen
•Bedienungsanleitung
►Prüfen Sie die Lieferung auf Vollständigkeit und auf sichtbare Schäden.
►Melden Sie eine unvollständige Lieferung ode Schäden infolge mangelhafter
Verpackung oder durch Transport sofort dem Spediteur, der Versicherung und dem
Lieferanten.
13.3 Entsorgung der Verpackung
Die Verpackung schützt das Gerät vor Transportschäden. Die Verpackungsmaterialien
sind nach umweltverträglichen und entsorgungstechnischen Gesichtspunkten ausgewählt
und deshalb recycelbar.
Die Rückführung der Verpackung in den Materialkreislauf spart Rohstoffe und verringert
das Abfallaufkommen. Entsorgen Sie nicht mehr benötigte Verpackungsmaterialien an den
Sammelstellen für das Verwertungssystem »Grüner Punkt«.
►Heben Sie wenn möglich die Originalverpackung während der Garantiezeit des Gerätes
auf, um das Gerät im Garantiefall wieder ordnungsgemäß verpacken zu können.
13.4 Anforderungen an den Aufstellort
Für einen sicheren und fehlerfreien Betrieb des Gerätes muss der Aufstellort folgende
Voraussetzungen erfüllen:

•Das Gerät muss auf einer ebenen und festen Oberfläche mit ausreichender
Tragfähigkeit aufgestellt werden.
•Stellen Sie das Gerät außer Reichweite von Kindern auf.
•Das Gerät ist nicht dafür vorgesehen in einer Wand oder einem in der Wand
eingebauten Schrank/Regal verwendet zu werden.
•Verwenden Sie das Gerät nicht an heißen, nassen oder extrem feuchten Orten sowie in
der Nähe von entzündlichen Gegenständen o.Ä.
•Der elektrische Sockel muss leicht zugänglich sein, sodass das Stromkabel im Notfall
leicht entfernt werden kann.
•Die Montage dieses Gerätes an beweglichen Orten (z.B. Schiffen) muss von
Spezialistenfirmen oder Elektrikern ausgeführt werden, vorausgesetzt sie garantieren,
dass die Verwendung des Gerätes an diesem Ort sicher ist.
13.5 Elektrischer Anschluss
Für einen sicheren und fehlerfreien Betrieb des Gerätes sind beim elektrischen Anschluss
folgende Hinweise zu beachten:
•Vergleichen Sie die Daten (Spannung und Frequenz) auf dem Leistungsschild mit den
Daten des Stromnetzes. Die Daten müssen übereinstimmen, damit keine Schäden
entstehen. Fragen Sie im Zweifel einen qualifizieren Elektriker.
•Der Stromanschluss muss mit einem 16A-Sicherheitsschalter ausgestattet sein.
•Das Gerät und der Stromanschluss kann durch ein 3 m langes Kabel mit 1,5 mm².
Durchmesser verbunden werden. Die Verwendung einer Mehrfachsteckdose wird
aufgrund von Verbrennungsgefahr nicht empfohlen.
•Vergewissern Sie sich, dass das Stromkabel unversehrt ist und nicht unter dem Gerät
herläuft, heiße oder scharfe Oberflächen berührt.
•Die elektrische Sicherheit ist nur gewährleistet, wenn das Gerät an einen schützendes
Leitsystem angeschlossen ist. Es ist verboten, das Gerät ohne das schützende
Leitsystem zu verwenden. Lassen Sie im Zweifelsfall den Hausanschluss von einem
qualifizierten Elektriker überprüfen. Der Hersteller übernimmt keine Schäden, die durch
ein fehlendes oder beschädigtes schützendes Leitsystem entstanden sind.
13.6 Stromkabel

hängt,damitKindernichtdaranziehenkönnenunddamiteskeineStolperfallebildet.
