Start here… Initial set up
1. For your most ideal effectiveness, place CASPR COMPACT unit 4-7 feet off the ground ensuring there is
a minimum of 6 inches behind the unit to allow for proper airflow.
2. Face the unit towards the center of the area you are protecting.
3. Ideally, your placement of the unit would be across the room from an AC intake or return vent. (The
vent the takes air OUT of your room and back up to the AC unit) This allows your normal air flow to
circulate the disinfecting oxidizing molecules across the entire room. Best practice would be to NOT
place your unit directly under or next to the intake or return air vent.

4. Plug the power cable into any standard wall outlet and plug the other end of the power cable into the
rear of the COMPACT unit.
5. Insert the battery inside the remote control.
6. Power on the unit by either using the remote control or
manually pushing the power button on the left side of the
display screen.
7. STANDARD MODE: You will know your unit is
running in standard mode when the display
screen is lit up and you see either PCO or NCC
(depending on what date you purchased your
unit) This is your standard 24/7 mode for
occupied rooms. Fan speed can be set higher or
lower by the up or down arrows on the unit or
remote control.
8. HIGH MODE is used by adjusting the up or down arrows above or below the word “Purifier” on the
display screen. When pushing the up button, you will see numbers such as 250, 500, 750 which
corresponds with the square footage of the room you are disinfecting.
9. High mode is for a quick high burst of disinfection and SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR MORE THAN ONE
HOUR IN ANY OCCUPIED SPACE.

Note: Some CASPR Compact Versions (CASPR COMPACT-CA) do not include purification plates. You may also
choose to remove the purification plate yourself. When the purification plate has been removed your unit will
remain in Standard PCO/NCC Mode regardless of what mode is displayed on screen and can always be used in
occupied spaces. Any questions please contact your distributor or the CASPR company directly.
10. AWAY MODE: should only be used when humans and pets are AWAY from the space. AWAY Mode
generates ozone, and you would usually only use the AWAY MODE to remedy a highly infected
pathogen rich environment or event such as removing smoke, cooking odors, mold spores, viruses, and
bacteria.
Pressing the Away Mode button will start and display a timer on the screen.
Press the away button once = 2 hours
Press it again = 4 hours
Press it again = 6 hours
Press it again = 8 hours
Press it again = the unit returns to Standard PCO / NCC mode. (no ozone produced)
11.Regardless of what time you set the unit for, after the time runs out the unit will automatically return to
the STANDARD MODE where you will see PCO or NCC on the display.
12. If the unit accidentally gets set to AWAY MODE while the room is occupied simply UNPLUG the unit and
plug it back in. The unit should reset to the STANDARD MODE.
You can also push the “Normal” button below the AWAY mode button which returns the unit to the
Normal or STANDARD MODE.
Easy way to remember…
If you see letters on the screen (PCO or NCC) it is in normal or STANDARD mode.
If you see numbers on the screen (500 or 2 hours) then it is in HIGH or AWAY mode. NEVER USE
AWAY MODE WHEN ROOM IS OCCUPIED!!

SLEEP MODE: This mode is found on the remote control only and simply
dims the front screen at nighttime if the unit is in your bedroom. This has
no effect on the disinfection effectiveness or functionality of the unit.
Warnings
Review this list before using or performing any maintenance or cleaning of your unit.
WARNING: Never operate unit near a heat source, open flame or flammable/combustible fluids.
WARNING: Do not operate unit unless all parts (including Cell, Purification Plate, Rear Filter Assembly and
Rear Cover) are properly installed.
CAUTION: Directly viewing the lamp inside unit for an extended period may result in eye damage.
CAUTION: When using AWAY Mode, the ventilation system from the room should provide a minimum of three
air exchanges per hour. If you don’t know the rate of air exchange, make sure there is normal air circulation in
the room or open a window after the away mode has completed if you have that option.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE AWAY MODE IN OCCUPIED SPACES. Short term exposure to ozone levels exceeding 0.5
ppm can cause temporary adverse reactions, including irritation in the eyes, nose and throat, shortness of
breath, chest pain, and wheezing. Pets, children, the elderly, and individuals with preexisting conditions such
as asthma, heart conditions, or high blood pressure are especially at risk.
CAUTION: Unit should be powered OFF and Power Cord should be disconnected when
Cleaning/Disassembling/ Reassembling/Servicing.
