2.0 GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The CEECO Model WPP-331-D-M-IVC is a Weatherproof Telephone designed
for special purpose applications where a durable telephone must be enclosed in a
rugged weatherproof enclosure. It is equipped with an ATD-11 automatic tone
dialer that will dial a single number of up to eleven (11) digits. The auto dialing
feature is activated by hook switch closure.
The CEECO Model HOB-331-D-M-IVC is a Weather Resistant Telephone
designed for special purpose applications where a durable telephone must be
protected from moderate weather conditions. It is equipped with an ATD-11
automatic tone dialer that will dial a single number of up to eleven (11) digits.
The auto dialing feature is activated by hook switch closure.
The CEECO Model SSP-311-D-M-IVC is a Stainless Steel Panel Telephone
designed for installation into the WPP or HOB line of housings or flush mount
interior installation. It is equipped with an ATD-11 automatic tone dialer that
will dial a single number of up to eleven (11) digits. The auto dialing feature is
activated by hookswitch closure.
The above units are not designed for incoming calls, but may still receive them. If
a call is placed to the phone, the automatic dialer will still dial its number when
the receiver is lifted off hook, but a normal telephone conversation may take
place. The volume control button is located on the face of each unit. Each press
of the button will increase the volume incrementally for a total gain of 18-20dB
with an automatic reset on the fourth press of the button or upon hang up.

3.0 PROGRAMMING
NOTE: It is recommended that you ground yourself to prevent ESD
damage to the PCB(s). This can be done through the use of an
electrostatic bracelet or other such device. In the absence of any
such device, it might suffice to simply touch a conduit or other
grounded pipe or object to dissipate any built up static electricity.
3.1 Please refer to the diagram on the next page for mini-jumper location
and positioning. Programming is accomplished by position plastic
hardware mini-jumpers in the proper positions for the desired calling
pattern. The mini-jumpers are designed to bridge pairs of copper pins to
activate the desired dialing pattern.
3.2 Locate the ATD-11 Automatic Dialer.
3.3 If the number to be programmed is a (1+) call, position the J1 mini-jumper
on the "1+" position, bridging the left and center copper pins. This will
cause the digit "1" to be dialed in front of the other programmed digits. If
the number to be programmed is a local call, position the J1 mini-jumper
on the "B" position, bridging the center and right copper pins.
3.4 If a 3 digit area code is to be dialed, the J3 mini-jumper must be set to the
"11" position, bridging the center and left copper pins. If the number
being dialed does not require the area code, position the J3 mini-jumper on
the "8" position, bridging the center and right copper pins.
3.5 Set each mini-jumpers on the A-K matrix board to correspond to the digits
of the number to be dialed. Beginning with column “A” at the top,
position the plastic mini-jumper to bridge the pair of copper pins
correspond to the desired digit (1-0). Proceed in the same manner, from
left to right, until all desired digits are programmed. Do not skip any
columns, as the digits must be represented in an unbroken string. Any
unused mini-jumpers must be removed from the board to ensure proper
dialing. Do not discard the unused jumpers, as they may be needed for
future use. It is recommended that they be taped or otherwise secured
somewhere nearby, within the device. Be sure each mini-jumper is
properly positioned to make good contact and dial the intended number.

PROGRAMMING CONTINUED…
3.6 There is one last mini-jumper location that has not been addressed yet.
This jumper is positioned at the time of manufacturing to accommodate
most telephone environments. If your telephone line delivers dial tone to
your phone in one second or less, then you should ignore this section. If
you happen to be in a long loop environment, which takes more than one
second to deliver dial tone on the line, then you will need to locate the
plastic mini-jumper located at the “J2” position of the ATD11 board. The
“J2” position can be found approximately 1.5” – 1.75” directly below the
“J1” and “J3” positions and is somewhat by itself. Position the “J2”
plastic mini-jumper, so that it bridges the middle and far right copper pins.
A “3” appears in small white print just right of this position. Placing the
jumper there will cause the phone to delay 3 to 4 seconds before dialing.
This should allow the phone to accommodate those extra long loop
situations in terms of time to receive dial tone.
3.7 Programming is now complete and the telephone is ready for
testing/operation.
4.0 OPERATION
Lift the handset. After a delay for dial tone, the programmed number will be
dialed automatically and a normal phone conversation may take place. The
volume control button is located on the face of each unit and is marked with the
loudness symbol. Each press of the button will increase the volume incrementally
for a total gain of 18-20dB with an automatic reset on the fourth press of the
button or upon hang up.

*****WARNING*****
•Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm.
•Never install telephone jacks in wet locations unless the jack is
specifically designed for wet locations.
•Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals unless the
telephone line has been disconnected at the network interface.
•Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines.
6.0 INSTALLATION NOTES AND ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
6.1 In the case of the WPP and HOB models, use a 301-064 security tool (sold
separately), and remove the security screws.
6.2 The security tool is for a standard 5/32" button head screw generally used
on the framework of the phone booths.
6.3 Separate the panel from the housing, if applicable.
6.4 Install the housing in the intended location as desired. Mounting hardware
is not included. The housings are designed to be mounted on a flat vertical
surface. Mounting holes are provided on the back of the housings. In the
case of the HOB model, a suitably sized and placed hole may have to be
drilled in the housing to enter the telephone line into the housing. If
installing the SSP-311-D-M-IVC in an interior flush mount situation, skip
this section and proceed to the next.
6.5 Run the inside station wire through the mounting box and terminate the
Tip and Ring wires to the green and red wires of the RJ11C terminal
block, located inside the box. See the over-voltage protection diagram for
details.
6.6 The use of a gas tube station protector is recommended. The station
ground should not exceed 50 ohms.
6.7 Plug the modular line cord from the panel assembly into the RJ11C
terminal block.
6.8 Dress the line cable away from the mounting holes before installing the
panel or securing the panel to the housing with the security screws.
6.9 The telephone is now ready for use.

7.0 TESTING
7.1 Program the phone according to section 3.0
7.2 Lift the handset. Phone waits one and one half to four seconds (depending
on the position of J2 per Section 3.6). The programmed number is
automatically dialed.
7.3 The transmitter is muted while the phone is dialing.
7.4 Incoming calls are not recommended but if a call is placed to the phone
and the handset is lifted there is a one and one half to four second delay
(depending on the position of J2. Section 3.6), the programmed number is
dialed, and then a normal phone conversation can take place.
