Chipolino RAPID User manual

This scooter is suitable for children aged 3 years up and weighting not more than 20 kg.
The use of this scooter requires that the child acquires knowledge for all toy’s functions in order to
avoid possible falling and damage to himself as well as to other children around.
This product is designed and produced in accordance with the requirements of Directive 88/378/EEC
of the European Parliament and of the Council.
ATTENTION!
Please, follow thoroughly the recommendations in this instruction manual! This will assure
the safety of your child during the use of this product!
Pay special attention to the warnings for safety, in order to prevent possible injuries to your
child and to guarantee his safety!
You are solely responsible for the safety of your child if you do not follow the instructions for
use and the recommendations in this manual!
Make sure that everybody who uses this product has read and understood this manual.

INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR
USE OF SCOOTER “RAPID”
The safety of this scooter ,
model „RAPID” and the materials used for
its production is guaranteed and certified in
test laboratories according to EN standards.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Safety is a shared responsibility. Although this product has been manufactured according to
all safety standards and requirements, we need your help in order to keep your child safe.
ATTENTION! WARNINGS:
1. Never leave your child unattended! Always use the product under parent’s supervision!
2. Before using the scooter, the child should learn all its function and how to operate with
it right and safe. This will help child to avoid falling and harm him/herself or other children
around.
3. Pay attention to the recommended age and weight of the children who this product is
suitable for. The use for a child weighing more than 20 kg, may cause overloading and make
the construction unstable. The scooter is suitable for children from 3 years up. The use of
children aged less than 3 years is forbidden!
4. This scooter is not suitable for children under 3 years!
5. This scooter is intended to be used by one child only. It is forbidden two or more
children to use the scooter at the same time!
6. Assembly of the scooter to be done only by adult! Do not allow children less than 3
years of age any access to the package while assembling, because it contains small parts
and there is choking hazard!
7. The assembly and installing of the parts should be made by an adult only, as following
exactly the instructions given in this manual. Make sure that you are using the right instru-
ments, all the connections are reliable and you have followed all the recommendations!
8. Before every use of this scooter, you have to check if all the parts and connections are
in good working order. The screws should be well tightened, the saddle, wheels and steering
handles should be well fixed into places. There should be no damaged or worn out parts or
any splits on the construction. The wheels should move free. Discontinue the use of the
scooter until you solve the problem to avoid any injuries of the child!
9. It is recommended the child to be equipped with helmet, gloves, and elbow and knee
pads while riding the scooter.
10. Do not allow the child to ride the scooter barefoot! The child should be equipped with
shoes while riding the scooter!
11. The scooter should be used during the day on lighted places!
12. The scooter should be used on flat surfaces and away from roads or motorways. Do
not use the scooter on uneven, elevated surfaces and surfaces with slope!
13. Do not use the scooter behind stopped cars, near crowded streets, pools, rivers, hills,
stairs, escalators and other dangerous places!
14. Do not use the scooter near sources of heat such as electric heaters or open fire!
15. Do not use the scooter outdoor while raining or rinse it with water during the play,
because this may cause rust to the metal parts, damage the product and injure your child!
16. The child should ride the scooter always straight, facing the motion!
17. It is forbidden to the child to jump with the scooter!
18. Make sure that the child grips both handles while riding the scooter!
19. Do not allow the child who is riding the scooter and other children to touch the rims
of the scooter or put things between them while riding it! Do not allow any animals near the
child while riding the scooter!
20. Do not place items with a string such as toys or accessories on the product to avoid
the risk of twisting and disturbing your child’s balance!
21. Use the scooter for play only. Do not use it for carry any luggage!
22. Do not drop the scooter on hard surface!
23. Store the scooter away from direct sunlight and heaters!
24. Do not apply any changes or modifications to scooter construction! Do not attempt to
repair it by yourself in case of a problem during use!
25. Do not use replacement parts or components other than those approved by the manu-
facturer or distributor because they can render the scooter unsafe!
26. If any problems during the use appear do not repair by yourself. You should contact
the supplier, distributor or manufacturer for reference or an authorized service!
27. The packaging of the product must be kept out of the reach of babies and children at
the time of and after unpacking. In this way you will avoid the risk of strangulation and/or
asphyxiation (choking) caused by entanglement of the packaging around the child or
external blocking of the respiratory tract through the child’s nose or mouth.

ASSEMBLY
The assembly scooter requires tools, and you must follow the assembly sequence showed in the
figures 1 to 8.

Please, insert the handlebar into the stem
and make the hole of the handlebar arm to the
hole of the stem.

Please, insert the screw into the handlebar
and stem, add the washer on it, and firm the nut.

Put the screw on the top fork and insert it
into the head tube.

Conform the top fork out of the head tube,
cover the screw on it, in the end cover the
clamp.

ASSEMBLY
The assembly is complete if the scooter moves easily and with no effort.

Put the stem through the decorating cover.

Insert the handlebar into the fork until you
can’t see the safe line on the handlebar.

Position the handlebar and front wheel in
such way that the line made by the handles and
front wheel close angle of 90°. When the
handlebar is vertical to the front wheel, firm the
nut of the clamp by wrench.

Use the head tube decoration to cover the
clamp. Make sure that each part is firmly fixed.
Check if the wheel runs smoothly before using
the scooter.

USING THE BRAKE
When riding the scooter, the child can use the brake or his foot to stop.

ATTENTION! WARNINGS FOR USE OF THE BRAKE:
• Do not use the brake while changing the direction, because this may cause falling!
• Do not use the scooter at too high speed! The scooter should be used at walking speed.
• Do not press the brake pedal harshly!
• The child should not step on the brake while riding.
• The scooter must be always ridden forward facing!
• Control the speed of the riding.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE:
Regularly check if all the parts are in good working order.
Keep the scooter clean. Do not rinse it with water. You can clean it with soft wet towel and mild soap.
Do not use any bleach or abrasive detergents.
Always check the parts of the scooter before use. Make sure that the handle grips are fixed. Check
also if non moving parts ate also well fixed. If needed tighten the loosen screws to assure stable
connections and normal operating.
Oil all the moving parts regularly.
Store the scooter in dry places, without dampness and away from sources of heat.

WARRANTY OF THE PRODUCT, WARRANTY CLAIMS AND ARRANGMENT
When discrepancies are found in the product that you have purchased, your rights, obliga-
tions and your protection are regulated and will be arranged in accordance with the law of
your country – Consumer Protection Laws.
When there is a discrepancy between the product you have purchased and your sales
contract, you have the right to place a warranty claim.
You can present your claim before the dealer or the authorized services for warranty mainte-
nance during their working time hours. You must place your claim immediately after you
discover the discrepancy.
In order for your discrepancy to be accepted, it is obligatory for you to present the
following:
• The product – duly cleaned and with all the accessories when purchased.
• Bill or Invoice that were issued from the dealer when the product was purchased.
• Any protocols, reports or other documents that reveal the discrepancy of the product
from the agreement or the reasons and sum of the claim (in case there are such documents
issued).
If the above conditions are not fulfilled, the warranty would not be recognized and no actions
would take place for its arrangement. The warranty is for the period of two years, considered
as of the date of the product’s purchase. Each discrepancy, which appears up to 6 months
from the purchase of the product, is considered to have existed during the delivery, except if
it is not subject to incorrect use. In such case, the discrepancy could be classified as techni-
cal, obtained because of a defect of the material or assembly. Each claim for discrepancy of
the product would be analyzed, so that the real reason is determined – whether it is technical,
constructional or due to non-compliance with the manufacturer’s instructions for correct
exploitation of the product. Actions for arrangement of claims during the warranty period
would be taken only if the presence of a factory defect is proved positive. Only the parts that
are proven to have a factory defect would be replaced during the time of the warranty.
It is important for you to know and to keep the instructions from this instruction manual, so
that the exploitation of your product is safe and durable. The removal of a discrepancy during
the warranty period is free of charge and should be completed in a month, considered from
the date of placing the claim. The time that is needed for the repair, replacement or coming to
an agreement between the seller and the customer is added to the warranty period.
THE WARRANTY SERVICE DOES NOT INCLUDE AND IS NOT TAKING TO:
• Product, which is used without keeping the instructions from the instruction manual.
• Product, for which it has been determined that is not being used by its purpose.
• Replacement of parts, which are subject to amortization during the time of normal
exploitation.
• A damage, which occurs after negligent exploitation, storage in unsuitable environment
or usage for purposes that are different from the function of the product.
• Eliminating defects of the product that are obtained as a result of external agents –
natural disasters, breaks after being hit with hard object or accident, industrial fumes,
aggressive washing preparations, etc.
• A product that has been repaired in unauthorized from the manufacturer services and
staff.
• A product that has undergone a change or modification of the construction.
• Eliminating damages, obtained because of mounting parts or accessories, different
from the given specification of the product.
